Thanks for taking us along on your shopping trip!!! I am wondering what the atmosphere is like there, but kind of have an idea with not wanting to be filmed. Have fun, stay safe. Gods blessings 🙏
Hi Leslie, I am so glad you enjoyed this video! People in Germany are much more worried about privacy. Otherwise, I would have been able to show more vendors 😊 ~ Anja
I am 100% watching every single video, and this brought back memories! When we visited, we stayed in Nürnberg and München, we were in Nürnberg during Spargeltage and were able to enjoy a TON of white asparagus. In both cities, we were able to visit farmers markets, and they were just so wonderful! And we had lots of drei im weckla (hopefully I spelled that correctly!) while walking around.
Danke’ !!!!! I MISS GERMANY !!!! Wishing I could get on the next ✈️ out to Frankfurt and stay a while. Soon the KrisKringle markets will be starting up for the holiday season. Happy to see what you were allowed to film. I’m enjoying binge watching your videos. Blessings, Deb
The herring sandwich reminded me of a picnic that my father took me on. He was raised largely by his first generation German grandparents in Chicago and would special order dark, dense German bread from Bruno’s Bakery when we were young. On this picnic, we had pickled herring, Bruno’s bread, Limburger cheese, and tonic water. Nothing like the picnics my friends had! 😆
White Asparagus is grown below the ground soil ,hence the white color due to no Sun . Green Asparagus is grown above the ground and the Sun causes the green color due to what we call photosynthesis . My Mother { RIP Mama }was German so I grew up eating these foods. Especially hearty dense Rye and Pumpernickel bread. Love it !
It's interesting that the food is different from one country to another but yet there are a lot of items that are the same. Thank you for taking us with you!
I lived in Heidelberg for 7 years and STILL miss the amazing farmer's markets that were located near the Schwetzingen Schloss! Thank-you for showing us the farmers market- beautiful to see the community in such a timeless way!
Hallo Anja, willkommen in der Heimat ! Ausgehend vom Fischbrötchen und deinem Kartoffelsalat mit Mayo schätze ich mal, dass du eher aus dem Norden stammst. Gruß aus Lübeck ! 🙋♀
My heritage is German and I've always wanted to go there. I got so excited when I saw the title, Germany and a farmers market! Thank you for taking us along
Wow! How exciting that you're in Germany! Thank you so much for taking us along on your farmers market trip! I think it's fascinating seeing other cultures and how they do things. Safe travels 🙏❤️
Oh my, seeing all the different kinds of bread brought back memories of my trip to Germany. We had farm bread and different kinds of rolls brought to our guest house fresh in the mornings. I think I gained 10lb in 2 weeks but it was well worth it. Do you have a recipe for farm bread? I sure would like to try to make some for family. Hope you are having a great vacation. Thanks for taking us along.
Hi Theresia, I am so glad you liked this video and that it brought back good memories. I have a bread recipe that you could make with up to 50% whole grain rye flour: ruclips.net/video/s1wpHMEhc08/видео.html Thank you so much for your sweet comment 😊 ~ Anja
4:20 I tell you why they don't wanna be filmed. I work at one of those in a major city and I promise you, half of the market stalls around us say that their produce is homegrown/regional. AS IF! Stay away from places like that and go to the bigger chain super markets. Because then you at least know for certain where the stuff is coming from. I say that despite our stand being honest and selling regional stuff but it's just too big of a gamble with the other market stalls.
When I was in Germany in 2006 I absolutely loved the farmers market and that way of buying food. I tried a different kind of cheese every time I went! Just wondering. How do the markets change once cold weather hits?
In the winter, you would only find seasonal produce such as potatoes, cabbages, tubers etc. Both shoppers and vendors bundle up in down, hats, scarves, and gloves 😊 ~ Anja
Hey Anja, the comment is more for the algorithm... but I have to say a nice vlog from the market with a thumbnail looks a little different👍 the only thing I don't quite understand is the fish roll that from my point of view is not really typical of Germany (and the camerawoman in the scene seems inexperienced😅). Greetings from Berlin Florian
Hi Florian, I love comments for the algorithm ... As for the thumbnail, sometimes it's good to switch things up a bit. Next time, I'll try to find a better camera person ... I have a nephew who might be perfect 🤣. Thank you so much for commenting 💛 ~ Anja
Next time film without them realizing that you are, as long as you do not film peoples faces and invade their privacy you are not doing anything wrong. You and your viewers interest are the food only and there is no harm in that. However, I do not want you film anything that would cause problems for you. Not worth getting in to trouble. I love your channel and thank you so much for bringing so much of my childhood back to me.

We have herring sandwiches, Broodje haring, here in Nederland, but the haring is not pickled, but served with pickles and onions.

they don't change at all, during the cold season they have heaters behind their tables and the sensitive fruit and flowers are protected with canvas.
In the winter, you would only find seasonal produce such as potatoes, cabbages, tubers etc. Both shoppers and vendors bundle up in down, hats, scarves, and gloves 😊 ~ Anja
