Amazing way to see the progression in the team and how Andy wanted to play. You can see elements of the style of play were there from early on, but work needed. He also needed to find his guys. I’m hoping the WC is the culmination of this work
From average to world leaders, incredible progression. Hope the follow through this year. I think they will but it will probably come down to one game vs France or NZ 😮 If they get past that I see them lifting the trophy.
Not many tries scored in the 2020 games, and some disappointing defeats, and most of us doubted the "new" Farrell-Catt style of attack. But you can see it working more slickly in patches of the 2021 6N games, like Italy and England. And then it really took off with the 2021 Autumn internationals (@34:40 onwards). It's been 2 years of rugby bliss since then!
Very well calibrated history of our World Cup 'adventures' and calmly delivered. Of course your insight into the future (2023 World Cup) - now the past - was faultless. You are absolutely right; in the past, both fans and media expected too much and oversold the teams. However, despite the over-eagerness amongst the media and fans in sensing progress going faster than it truly was, the evidence clearly is that Ireland are constantly building. It's slow! - but it's methodically forward in momentum. We are not a Nation jumping wildly up and down the rankings from 9th to 2nd to 8th to 3rd etc etc. There is a robust continuity through the decades. Still quite a way to go but more young players coming in all the time, better development processes, more professional-standard coaching earlier in the lives of young players.....; the mood should still be buoyant despite the QF exit this year.
It was wales 3 ireland 3 next screen was irland 25 wales 9...to get 25points with out a try you,d need 8.3 penalties or drop goals ....good to watch all the trys

Replacing the one dimensional stander with the genuinely world class Doris made a massive difference
Great compilation! Keep up the great work

1 try missing 10:36 Jacob Stockdale v France 2020, which cancels out Peter O’Mahony’s disallowed try v Scotland 2020 16:40 but pretty sound otherwise!
