This is good because the edge to edge screen trend is THE WORST. SONY believes that this would compromise the structural integrity of the the phone.. which I found to be true. My one plus 5 has been a disaster, broke the screen two times from averge hights! ..my first and last phone without a side bezel!!!
been using my sony zx1 daily for 2.5 years. falls a few times per week lol. no screen protector only the thin rubber cover that comes with the phone, ZERO PROBLEMS

uhm i had one too. i were a pretty big sony fan(i had a neo , w705 and a w200i before ) i loved it buut with time its flaws were getting worse. more overheating caused lag, battery started to fade, micro usb port getting loose soo yeah it was time to say goodbye and despite my hate towards huge phones and liking sony stuff i bought a pocophone f1 and its just amazing! i highly recommend it. also great value. and the size has actually more pros than cons nowdays.

I just by chance bought a Sony to be my replacement device while my blackberry key2 is being repaired. I am so happy to have gotten it today by chance. I needed a similarly priced phone and a unique one at that. I chose this device because of its uniqueness to the competitors apple and Samsung. I sold my apple 8plus and gifted my Note 8 to get unique phones. I am keeping both this one and my blackberry key2 together on my carrier. Thank you so much Sony for the awesome specs
Sonys Batterie life was always the best on the market... My old xz premium with a 4k hdr LCD Display outperformed my brand new huawei p20 pro... Switching back to Sony... I'm fed up with this marketing brands like Samsung, Apple and huawei.

I used to be a huge Sony fan. Every single phone i used from 2006 to 2017 was Sony... But Sony is no longer competitive in cellphone department and design of Sony phones became blunt and unattractive. Only thing that remains the same is high price. But i still have those moments when i think about switching to Sony again. Probably a thing of habit.

Love sony's bold and balanced (looking) design, great build quality, beautiful natural camera colours and good support, but REALLY miss the old 16:9 ratio (for messaging and portrait wideness) and lightness for everyday use. I think thats why others do well, they pay attention to ergonomics!?
The phone rest when you took the sim try out is good because is for security purposes, once it reset, you have to enter your password again and I think all manufacturers should be doing that
SONY #1. only thing I don't like is if you get even a small crack on the glass, most of the time it will make it unresponsive even from a small crack. From experience 👍
Don't get me wrong, love my Sony and I'll be sticking with the brand for my next phone, but the Samsung S10+ camera is pretty impressive. Details are clearer when zooming, but as far as I'm concerned, Sony cameras are more than sufficient for my needs. Guess it's really about what you need or want and what trade offs you're willing to make one way or the other.
Actually you're wrong it is a one hand tap the middle of the screen you can pull it down and there's also a feature where you can tap the side and it's good for using one one hand
I wish it could comes with Super AMOLED Screen for better Video experience along with Snapdragon 710 or atleast with S.D 675 Chipset considering high price 🙄 Also I think its a right time to say Goodbye to LCD screens cuz S. AMOLED SCREENS give awesome experience of deep blacks & Vived colours with detail brightness

Their professional grade cameras are still profitable and their point and shoot are still one fo the best. Haven't they learned from walkman? Sony, of all mobile phone producers can make a separate niche because of their cybershot series, and I'm sure people will buy it. The sad truth is, Sony keeps asking premium prices for a phone that doesn't have a camera that can compete properly.

What I was worried is the weak planned execution that they have been delivering this past decade. Cutting departments like (Vaio) to acquired companies like Ericsson. If they release something that would showcase, their Display tech, Cybershot, and Walkman tech in one mobile phone, that would be a sure winner.
Its not that bad. Still pictures is good, and their video recording is very good. Its not that bad. A little bit pricey, but I rather pay a bit more than having GPS broken because you drop it once(hint hint samsung)
This thing is just upside-down Mi Mix. I've used Mix for several years but the upper bezel of this is really noticable unlike the bottom bezel of Mi Mix
I've been using Sony smartphones for the last 6 years but sorry Sony you've lost a customer here. Their lifespan is about 18 months before things start going wrong. GPS dies, bugging, raming. They become unusable. And Sony don't even update Android so they quickly become dated. As much as I like your products Sony, your phones suck. I'm writing this on a Samsung A50, and I can tell you it's much better value for money.
Always been a sony fan but in these past few years, sony seems to always running late with its' competitors. We've seen screens like this in sharp & xiaomi years ago & sony is just using it now while other companies are racing for the full screen (namely oppo & vivo). 400-is euro for a phone with lcd screen, sd 636 & 4gb of ram with 3000 mah battery ? Wow, no wonder sony is losing the war badly.

Sony, of all mobile phone producers can make a separate niche because of their cybershot series, and I'm sure people will buy it. The sad truth is, Sony keeps asking premium prices for a phone that doesn't have a camera that can compete properly.
@@red_ashcroft yeah I totally agree, Sony has had sales in tvs, sounds systems, cameras, and even own PlayStation .. literally everything that a premium phone is .. something that has a good display, with good sound, a good camera.. and even just to dream big a portable gaming BEAST of a device that can handle the bigger games that are being released and going mobile... that's a phone I would buy with a premium price tag without hesitation
@@el_blaxicano2True, Sony lead a lot of advancements in all aspects. From audio to camera technology, there is nothing Sony hasn't done. What I was worried is the weak planned execution that they have been delivering this past decade. Cutting departments like (Vaio) to acquired companies like Ericsson. They have everything they need to keep it afloat, but releasing a lot of misses just keeps them falling behind. If they release something that would showcase, their Display tech, Cybershot, and Walkman tech in one mobile phone, that would be a sure winner.
Its not that bad. Still pictures is good, and their video recording is very good. Its not that bad. A little bit pricey, but I rather pay a bit more than having GPS broken because you drop it once(hint hint samsung)
There was a time when Sony was a leader in the mobile phone market - those days are over. It's as if they aren't even trying...

I've used Mix for several years but the upper bezel of this is really noticable unlike the bottom bezel of Mi Mix

I've been using Sony smartphones for the last 6 years but sorry Sony you've lost a customer here. Their lifespan is about 18 months before things start going wrong. GPS dies, bugging, raming. They become unusable. And Sony don't even update Android so they quickly become dated. As much as I like your products Sony, your phones suck. I'm writing this on a Samsung A50, and I can tell you it's much better value for money.

Always been a sony fan but in these past few years, sony seems to always running late with its' competitors. We've seen screens like this in sharp & xiaomi years ago & sony is just using it now while other companies are racing for the full screen (namely oppo & vivo). 400-is euro for a phone with lcd screen, sd 636 & 4gb of ram with 3000 mah battery ? Wow, no wonder sony is losing the war badly.
