Prepare to be nerded out: The original Prime Evil was a dragon named Tathamet. He was separated into 7 parts. These 7 were the evils. Diablo's absorption of his fellows was the first time since Tathamet that the seven souls were back together. In a way Diablo became the 2nd rising of Tathamet, the real prime evil.
That is a way to say, because Tathamet not only gave birth to the seven evils. In his final battle with Anu, the corpse of the great dragon raised all demon kind and the burning hells also, so in order fot Tathamet to attain a real come back, all evil should come together: hell, demons, even the demonic esence of nephalem and humans. Instead, the black soulstone only merged the great evils. That´s the reason for Malthael´s quest of human erradication later in the expantion of Diablo III. If the idea is the complete vanishment of evil, even humans must be destroyed. Only Tyrael, the incarnation of justice, could see how unfair is this angelic prerogative.
“Have you ever witnessed an angel fall? Have you heard the sound of their wings breaking as they tear them from their own body? Have you smelled the aroma of brimstone seeping from there skin as evil writhes inside them? No? Then you have yet to learn what terror truly is.” ~Lydia Esper, mad mage of the Black Tower.
The music for his fight creates the perfect horrific atmosphere, that'll make you feel like you're fighting Evil itself in all its power. The whole build-up intensifies the fight even further.
I see over and over again that Diablo isn't intimidating in his third shape seen in D3. Yet I think the feminine form makes him look more bladed and quick and thus more deadly than the fat, bulky shape he took in D2.
I know this subject is old, but I will allow myself to act as the Devil's (Diablo's) lawyer. 1ST MATTER: I've noticed, that some people were annoyed by Diablo's constant chatter during the whole Act IV. Well, Diablo is the Lord of Terror, and he was doing his best to ruin your morale (he also tried that with those illusions in the Silver Spire to make you feel guilty for what happened in the past). That not only you would lose your will to fight, because there is no point, but even if you would stand face to face with Diablo, then you would be something like: "Oh no, Diablo is so tough, so powerful, I will never defeat him ;(" (Note: There are Diablo voice lines, that were not used in the game, and one of them is: "We can feel Leah's tormented soul within us. We relish her screams"). But why it didn't worked on you, like it did on Tyrael? It can be explained from the storyline as well. See, not only because you are a Nephalem, and as we know, Nephalem are a real badasses, but also you had a strong motivation: To punish Diablo for what he has done. 2ND MATTER: In case someone would compare Diablo's constant chatter with Mathael's silence: Malthael is the aspect of Death, and as we know, Death is - well, silent. You never know when it will come... . 3RD MATTER: I can't speak for everyone on this one, but personally, if I would return to my home at night , especially if I would be walking through a forest, and my only sources of light were the moon and a flashlight, and suddenly hear an ominous sound behind me, and when I would turn around and see Diablo from D3 (a grotesque looking demon, who is so tall, that his legs are taller than me) who is standing veeeeery close to me, then I would freak out so much more, that I would do from seeing Diablo from D2 or D1. I know what I said may be obvious, but I just felt that I have to write this, because I haven't found such comment here.
Bro the riff at the end gives me chills everytime, I think every final boss fight should have something like this to make you feel like you actually did something
Only reason people say D2's DIablo was tough was because he had a strange 'reflect damage' thing going on so you had to adjust to THAT. D3, if it's too easy, it's YOUR fault for having a lower difficulty. Crank it up quite a bit. Mechanics were fine and weren't the cheap 'Reflect damage'. Of course, keeping OUT of the way makes the most sense too. Don't get grabbed by dark cages, don't stand in fire, if Diablo takes a deep breath, move from in front of him, pretty common sense stuff to make that fight 'easier'.
People keep saying that Diablo was harder in Diablo 2...... um remind me again what about his boss fight was hard? The demons before him were then that pushover. This one at least has an ACTUAL fight compared to that one.
I played Diablo 1, 2 and 3 and beat them for the first time this year, in order of difficulty: Diablo 2, Diablo 1, Diablo 3. Why? because in Diablo 3, everything is easy as fuck, I had to put it in the hardest difficulty that the game let me put to make it a little more harder, but, not really. I didn't have to heal myself a single time, I had to do nothing but spam attacks and wait until he was dead. The worst part is that Diablo didn't shut up, he was "you can fight against your fears!" or some shit, then throw me a stupid clone. Yes, Diablo does a lot of stuff, and is all pointless because, again, he didn't hurt me at all. In Diablo 2, I got with an army of skeletons and a fire golem, they all died in seconds against diablo, I had to use portals over and over because I didn't have more potions because Diablo in 2/3 attacks he could kill me. Not only that, but he trap me sometimes in a bone prison when I was trying to run away. I farmed tons of levels and it was useless, Diablo was still very strong, of course, not the hardest in the game, Duriel and Baal where the true pain.
you probably didn't play during in earlier stages of d3, d3 diablo, especially the nightmare phase was hard as fuck. earlier stages of d3 bosses are definitely more difficult than any bosses in d2 hands down
How did I know you were playing this? XD I was somewhat tempted to get this, but really don't like how it doesn't come with a single player offline campaign. That kinda kills it for me a bit! Nice upload though!
Azmodan is sin, Andariel is I forgot I think it was Sorrow , Duriel is pain, Belial is Lies, Mephisto is manipulation, Baal is destruction and last but not least Diablo is terror Pride, Envy, and such are the SinLords who are the Evils most trusted generals (You fight Gluttony and Lust in Act 3 of the third game////////////0

+Maxime Hamon There are 7 Evils, according to the story created from the 7 heads of Thathamet when it was destroyed: Diablo, Mephisto, Baal, Azmodan, Belial, Duriel and Andariel. If Avarice happens to be the real name of Greed, the boss of the Treasure Goblins, then he/she/it(???) would probably be one of Azmodan's Sin Lietuenants, like Cydea and Ghom.
The reason why you barely hear this theme is because when you fight Diablo, his attacks and your attacks are loud as fuck, and on top of that Diablo talks every four seconds so yeah
No, Azmodan was in Act III. Diablo was in The High Heavens ( Act IV ) and he was just OBNOXIOUS. Felt good to punch the Prime Evil right in his face as my Monk.
While this does sound fitting... Somewhat... I don't think its that well put together. It is a jumbled mess, which is what I think of when I see Diablo in the boss fight, it makes sense. But this is just too bad, there is no real continuation of it, one part feels like a cool, badass song, but then the next 10 seconds, it just sounds 100% different
It is now that diablo is nerfed like a motherfucker and it's simply to easy to kill him... :( I still play it though, no reason, just paragon lvling...
This guy was a nightmare to fight in the second game when he was just Diablo.....now he's pathetic and looks lame to boot in Diablo 3 when he's The Prime Evil? I guess it's a 'be yourself' story....
diablo is a HE, he has a gender, the feminine features of him as the prime evil was caused by having a female host body. the same reason why diablo was weaker in diablo one, there a young boy was his host. the only reason he became more powerful than before this time was because he had the essence of the other evils in him, plus leah was also his daughter (he fathered her as the dark wanderer) if he had a stronger male body, that would had been terrifying, but he works with what he gets, he's not that picky! XD :)

I already knew that.

Yup! Knew it.

I see over and over again that Diablo isn't intimidating in his third shape seen in D3. Yet I think the feminine form makes him look more bladed and quick and thus more deadly than the fat, bulky shape he took in D2.
+DesolateDolly That, and the fact that this form was "born" from Leah, which , imo, does make the feminine look make a lot of sense...
Also, Andariel, Maiden of Anguish is also female.

Do I have a lawyer.
@Eagle Eyes idk. I never checked.

@Eagle Eyes I can look.
Thanks so much for uploading this! I've been looking for it ever since I first fought Diablo. =D

1:08 the part starts
thanks for upload
if the boss is really that easy perhaps you guys should up the ante and increase difficulty
All five Archangels disliked this.
It's 3 archangels, 1 exiled Archangel, and one Fallen Archangel.

In addition to the 5 Archangels the Nephalem themselves have disliked this video :3.
..... not evil enough
When you know Diablo lore, you know Diablo at the end Diablo 3 is the Demon equivalent of Jesus Christ. Kinda funny that.
correct me if im wrong...
Mephisto - Pride
Baal - Envy
Diablo - Wrath
Andariel - Lust
Duriel - Sloth
Azmodan - Gluttony

Andarielle is the queen of Suffer
Duriel is the queen of Pain
Avarice is the lord of cupidity
***** who the hell is avarice? there are only 7 lords of hell in the series.
Avarice is the lord of cupidity, an minor god of hell exactly. He's the master of goblin and the king of pride.
***** Duriel is the LORD of Pain and Andariel is the Maiden of Anguish

2:15 - 2:28
Exactly!
I like the song, but diablo got to much influence from Azmodan like telling where I should go next. Also bragging in battle.
Uhh yeah it absolutely is, listen closely when you fight Diablo. =P
the track is called diablo
The Diavolul will rise again...
Does anyone know what the original name for this song is?
And so the very heart of the High Heaven's nearly cried it's requiem that day.
it was pretty good music for a last battle.
This is nowhere near climactic enough for such a battle.
SOunds like Jurassic park
Diablo Just Won't Shut Up In Act 4
That was Azmodan he is annoying and I absorbed all of them. Even their habits and traits.
No, Azmodan was in Act III. Diablo was in The High Heavens ( Act IV ) and he was just OBNOXIOUS. Felt good to punch the Prime Evil right in his face as my Monk.

I did.
This is theme of Ancient Diablo? No-no-no, this theme NOT Diablo track. Theme of First Diablo - "Hell Theme" from Diablo 1996!
