As a retired fuel barge and tug combo on Ft.Lauderdale FL. Good Luck Tim. May your time on Paquita be the Best Time so far, Cap you've earned it. With hours and days away from family and friends, to keep your neighbors and friends going with fuel that they need. Thanks for your time and service. May all your days be filled with broad reaches and many more miles under your keel. I'll be following you on Paquita. I Love You Sir.
Thank you, Tim for your channel. I live next to the ocean for 29 years and only one time that I get to go out with my friend Captain Tony for a ride in a boat and it was the best ride I ever had on the water and that’s what you remind me of, thank you very much
As somebody who sailed on those waters for years, but now living on the West Coast, thanks for "taking me home". Enjoy the warmer weather of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, stay away from them pesky hurricanes, and see you on the water, Cap'n Tim!!!
Checking in from Liverpool,UK. I'm from a family of seafarers. My dad used to sail regularly from Liverpool and Southampton to New York in the early 1960's with Cunard in such vessels as the old Queen Mary, Caronia,Carinthia and Sylvania. It was a great trip for him as he had cousins in Hoboken,so he could cross the river and visit them on a regular basis !
I lived in Wyoming now in Virginia Beach, VA. I found your channel because I was doing research about Tugs. I was commissioned to paint a picture for a Tug Boat captain’s birthday. (Painted a Tug Boat for him). Since I knew nothing about the big tugs so I had to learn a lot before my first stroke of my brush. No pressure, I painted his same kind of boat. I have been fascinated with your channel to learn the day to day.
I'll miss the radio calls between me and your "mighty" tug, but wish nothing but the best for the next chapter! As we say in the CG when people are departing to transfer to a new unit, which is even more applicable given your sailing future, "Fair winds and following seas" to you!
Thank you very much Danny. Yes, hearing you guys saying "the mighty" always lifted my spirits! But this channel isn't going away. Just going south. 😂 I will still be shooting content and posting every Tuesday. Stay tuned my brother! CUOTO
Big Tim hello from East Tennessee, Mike here been watching you for many enjoyable hours, looking mostly at your back, lol. My career was also in towing field in the transportation industry just on land(chuckle). I towed tractor trailers, and heavy equipment, any always fascinated with the tug industry, though I knew for years that that's a everchanging job, personel, climate, current, winds, draght, and so on,you make it look easy, thanks Mike p.s.still got your back , lol.
Thanks for the wonderful views of the waters around New York. For those of us far from the ocean, it was great to learn a bit about it all. Looking forward to your new adventures in Puerto Rico!
All the best in your new job location. I will miss the NYC scenes. Moved to the Hampton Roads area of VA almost 10 years ago after 56 years in the Hudson Valley of NY.
Indeed tim, i'm one of you're Dutch followers, and you visiting the Netherlands, will give you insight of all the type's of sailing we got over here.. And in case of chance, Maybe we can meet.. And good luck on you're new tug boat
Good afternoon Cap'n. It's been such a pleasure to be with you as you drove the tug about the waterways of New York. Juggling wind, tide and obstacles with such ease and foresight. I hope that you find the strength to continue supplying videos when you have bedded down in your new job.
As always I enjoyed the trip. I am a retired New Yorker who is confined to a wheelchair and I vicariously travel with you to places I can’t physically go. I am a curious person and enjoy the maritime jargon and explanations of your. Work. I look forward to you new travels in the Caribbean. I also enjoy SV PAQUITA! Happy. CUOTO
excellent video nice views Great news tim I've been subscribed to timbatsea and sv paquita for a month and watched and commented on all videos and there both my number 1 marine and sailing channels thank you tim good luck on the next chapter
Thank you very much James! I am so pleased when I see someone taking the time to binge watch my videos and comment on all of them. It really helps the channel. Thank you. You will like the Caribbean content too! CUOTO
While I am crushed and will miss you on this route immensely, I am delighted to know that you will be in warmer waters and closer to SV Paquita! I’ll be following along on that journey, you can bet! I have learned so much from you, Captain TimB! As they sang on the Carol Burnett show, “I’m so glad we had this time together.” What a marvelous instructor you must have been to many! I include myself in that group. Thanks for taking me along on all of these journeys. CUOTO, Capt!
Thank you very much for watching Marie. The channel is not going anywhere. I will still be posting almost every Tuesday but now from the Caribbean. Stay tuned. CUOTO
I wish you a great journey on your new job. Please keep filming your new location in the South. Loved all of your trips to Cape Cod alone the river that is between the main land and the Cape. I remember those bridges because my sister had a house on the Cape and that's the way we wait to see her. Good Luck and don't stop recording.
Here is my story since you have just let it be known how interested you are with the demographics of your channel. My very early years (50's) were in South Jersey. I was exposed to shipping in general around Camden and Philadelphia. I've all ways been intrigued with tugs. Big powerful tools float my boat so I've also be fascinated with Trains and heavy equipment. Tugs however never took a back seat. Now at 72 the window of opportunity to join your lifestyle has closed. Thank you for allowing me to vicariously live that life through you. Keep up the good vids, Thank You.
For years I have been in the Hudson and love the times i come down to NYC and up the E river to the sound. I use to say... It's just a tug Boat. As i have told you before, Your videos has given me a whole new view towards "its just a tug boat" I now have GREAT respect for tug boats and there command. Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend.. You will be missed...
My son is running the "ditch" along the gulf coast. He gets my questions since I was a automotive mechanic for 30+ years. Now I just ride up and down the Interstate highway pulling a 53ft wagon.
Good luck Capt. You earned it. Puerto Rico is a pretty island. Lived in Rincon , surfing for two winters in the 70s. Island life is the only way !!!!!!
Thank you very much Steve. But the channel is not going anywhere. We will be back every Tuesday but now with a Caribbean flair and a lot more towing. CUOTO
As you are talking in this video I don't know how you popped up but I too find it fascinating and I have been learning from every video. I find it so cool how you go about your work so calmly and how you get along with your crew
Thank you again Scott. We end up spending more time with our crew confined to a space much less than our houses, than we do with our wives and kids. So having a happy, respectful and fun crew is extremely important. CUOTO
I live in the Western part of NC and several years ago we vacationed in Savannah I enjoyed watching the ship and tugs running up and down I guess the Savannah river. My wife enjoyed other things there but I enjoyed watching all the traffic on the river.
I'm one of those people that fell backwards into your channel and almost immediately was hooked. Maritime activity is one the most intriguing areas to me, as I live in a land locked state. Triple land locked at that.
kind of sad but very happy with youre new adventure.. I will definitly be watching closely for new videos to come ! fair winds and following seas !! CUOTO !! =)
I've been a viewer for many years and live in the NY area. Next week I'm heading down to PR as a delivery captain. Bringing a sailboat up to Beaufort NC. Hope to see you on the blue seas Stay safe and stay dry. Peter
Thank you for watching Peter. That's great. I'll be on the tug until April 6th, so be sure to say hi if you see us on AIS. If you are going by the west coast, be sure to stop in to Marina Pescadería. You'll love it! CUOTO
Tim good luck with the new job i will miss your video up in the north east i am glad to have met you in Boston last year (birthday party) my best be safe
Thank you very much Wayne. That was a lot of fun. I'll still be sailing up north this summer on SVP and I'm sure I'll run out of rum money and have to work over in NYC now and then. Stay tuned. CUOTO
Tim, I will miss following your visits to my home port of New Haven and your adventures around New York and New Jersey. I hope you bring Paquita through here again soon. But I wish you the best on your new chapter, and will continue to watch and envy the nice weather. I look forward to continuing to learn about the maritime life from you.
Hi from Pennsylvania I have done and driven a lot of equipment trucks boats but never a tug always been intrigued by tugs. Good luck with the new adventure!
Thanks Capt.Tim.. I have greatly enjoyed your channel because I grew up in NYC and didn't know anything about the harbor. As I've told you before, my Grandfather was a tugboat Capt. ,( Ocean going), in England. He and his family came over after WW1 ,but he got killed by a hit and run when my father was 16, so I never met him. I'd like to think he was like you,a real professional. You have taught me as well as he would have. I've always had a fascination of the sea, must be in my blood. All of this doesn't mean your as old as my grandfather . Couldn't happen, I'm 78 😄I'll miss NYC but I'll be with you, thanks again.
Captain Tim, I have enjoyed your videos and being in the wheelhouse with you so many times and I thank you for having us along with you, but it is a mariner's destiny to wander .. so we understand your need. After all, not too hard of a choice .. freeze your butt off in NYC or go to Puerto Rico .. anyways, thank you for sharing your experience as a tug master .. good luck and happy times in Puerto Rico, from a Sailor with 17yrs at sea, Fair winds and Following Seas. v/r Glenn / 200 Ton Master {looking for a boat} .
Tim, your well liked on RUclips because your a Mainer, your approachable and there is nothing else like this out there. Great job. Good luck with the new site. CUOTO
Thank you very much Jerome. You have been with me for a long time and I really appreciate that! I am also quite sure that you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
I work on Governors Island at night and would watch you go by in the evenings or early mornings. I’ll miss having you out in the harbor. I learned much from you.. I kept wanting to get on 16 to say hi. Never did say hi till now when I’m saying bye.. Happy trails man.
Thank you very much! But I'm not really going away. The channel will still be here and content will just come from further south. And I am sailing SVP home next week and will be coming through NYC in may. Stay tuned. CUOTO
I came across your channel ages ago while chasing down content on practical/real use of radars, eletronical navigation systems etc, but then stuck to this window into your day-to-day, insights, comments and balanced thoughts. Thanks Cpt. Tim for all your time, effort and enjoyment you have given us, hope you really enjoy this new chapter of your life and safe sailing! #brazil
Thanks for all the videos Tim! I never considered a job in the maritime industry until I saw your videos. Then my wife and I moved to Charleston, SC for her job. Now I’m working in marine construction and spending about half my days as a deckhand on a little 1200 hp tug doing ramp barge and small contract work. I love it!
Cap'n Tim, thanks for the ride and the memories of the New York sea front. Brought back tons of fond memories as a youngster. Will be with you on SV Pacquita. Take care, be safe and fair winds always.
All the best in your new venture I loved watching your videos I'm just watching you going up the east River, anyway stay save and look forward to any videos in the future (Keith from York England)
Dear Captain Tim.... Wishing You Personally the Best in Future endeavors and remember... Full Ahead and Hard Over!! I'm here waiting for you to get to arrive in Andros Greece on your boat ⛵ and get to have some Ouzo!! Good Luck and All the Best!!!
What an exciting new venture! I hope we get to sail with you from start to port call. I thoroughly enjoy each video & being to ride along with you through the video as well as Google Maps. So way cool. I also truly enjoy learning from your years of knowledge, your explanations of things, procedures, equipment, settings. I would be willing to bet many of the viewers enjoy this as well. It might seems trivial or meaningless to you, maybe not. I know when you tell us throttle settings, directions and what the boat is doing, is really interesting. I can watch hours of this. When I discovered your channel, I binge watched until I was caught up. Thank you!
Good Morning Captain. I wish you the best on your newest adventure(s) and Thank You for for resurrecting some fond memories of the area you have worked so hard in over the past years. Sunny skies and fair winds sir!
Thanks for the video Tim. I wish you all the best in your new adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed all your tug work videos in and around NYC. I especially appreciate all of the educational aspects and how you have trained and mentored many of your crew members. Thanks for taking us along, CUOTO
Can't remember if it was a YT suggestion or what, but somehow I ended up here in your early days. Even though I'm in San Diego, I'm no mariner nor a sailor, but I find your line of work quite fascinating. We don't have your type of barge tugs here. Looking forward to your next chapter and working videos from the warm waters 🙂
Growing up in North Dakota and living in Minnesota I have found your channel very enjoyable and learned quite a few things I wouldn't have if not for your trips and commentaries. I wish for you safe travels and all the best! Thanks!
Your comments about steerage with tide effects were very helpful for me. I had a dramatic experience crossing an incoming tide while outgoing in a channel got my blood turning. My rudders quickly seemed to not be there at all.
Wow, Tim, thanks for all the videos of New York form the water. I travelled to this amazing city many times from the UK with my work and I have throoughly enjoyed spotting places form the water and seeing how the local shipping industry operates. I will miss the channel, but I hope you have a safe and enjoyable time in your new job. Take care and fair winds Sir. '10:10' till we do it again.
Wow, hard to believe but totally understandable. If you have this chance and it makes sense... take it! I've enjoyed learning so much from you about towing, tugs, tidal movements and most importantly, dealing with people. Your kindness and ever present humor are wonderful examples for everyone! I'll be following SV Paquitta and your adventures in the warmer climate. Godspeed, have fun, be well and be safe! I'm looking forward to more interesting times on the 42' Island Packet. Thanks so much for dragging us all with you! CUOTO
Good luck and happy sailing! As a new ocean boater who stumbled across you channel, I have learned a lot....and I will remember to shut of our underwater lights when underway :-). Best Sir!
Tim, I enjoyed reliving my trips through New York Harbor and Long Island while hitching a ride with you. You are a smart guy to follow your dream and I look forward to watching your sailing adventures! Thanks for the hard work you put into these videos. Be well and stay safe . . .
wow, that is big news. I've enjoyed watching your adventures in my old home town and will look forward to seeing your new vids in warmer waters. Cheers.
Hi Tim, thanks for all the videos in NY Harbor.Brought back so many memories of my time there in the 80's. while in the USCG.Fun to see Governors Island and the Buttermilk. All the best on your new adventure!!
Great video!! Spectacular scenery! With a sprinkle of melancholy ......All the very best, wherever your travels take you, Capt. Tim! Btw, before I forget, why don't you ever sit in that very comfortable looking Captain's chair?? ;)
Outstanding Capt; high Ho it’s off to another adventure we go. Best of luck 🤞. Now we all have to do is wait for the new bog’s and another different view of the way we move cargo to different arts of he world. CUTO a we say in the Navy it’s Haze Grey and Underay. 😁🤪💪🏻😎
Hi Captain. It took me a few days to process your big news, but thanks for all the great videos and conversations in the harbor and especially the beautiful Hudson River where I am accustom to. Good luck to you Tim.
Great video again Tim and I will miss the local scenery and videos. Happy that you are staying on your career goals and track and that you are heading to warmer climates. Also closer to Pequita! 👍. Looking forward to your new adventures.
There's no location like NYC, cruising through Buttermilk Channel brings back memories of my time as a Coastie on Governors I, and Kill Van Kull of my time on SI. You'll miss it, I'm sure, but life goes on. Now I'm landlocked in Berlin Germany, with only the Spree to keep me wet. Bon Voyage!
Really enjoy your channel Tim. I am watching this video and following along on my Navionics chart. I’m a pleasure boater but really enjoy the navigational aspects of your videos. The longest trip that I have taken is a boat delivery from the St. Lawrence River down Lake Ontario, through the Erie Canal to the Niagara River to Kelleys Island in Western Lake Erie. It was a 9 day delivery. I also frequent the waters of the Detroit and St Clair rivers in the Great Lakes and have a great respect for commercial vessels. Keep up the good work and enjoy your new waters of the Caribbean. Looking forward to more of your videos from a warmer climate!
I've only i found your channel and enjoy it! That said, and I would guess that it's been pointed out before, but Hell's Gate is on the Fraser River in British Columbia. It's the product of a landslide sometime before recorded history in that area.
Tim, you have given this old wanna be/could have been mariner some satisfaction from a life not chosen (but the life I have been given instead has been great.) Seeing New York from your perspective has been very interesting and enjoyable. I really enjoy watching masters at their craft work, no matter what tools they have been given. As a sail boater on the Great Lakes I wish your adventures and gained experience as a sailor to be a great satisfaction to you and I will be watching SV Paquita.

Good luck with the new adventure!
Thank you very much John. The channel continues. Now with a new location. CUOTO
Thank you very much Bob. But the channel continues. Now with better content. CUOTO
Thank you very much Glenn! The channel continues. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content and a lot more towing. CUOTO
#brazil
Thank you very much Mark. Be sure to stay with the channel. I think you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
I love it!
That's great Brian! I am sure you will like the Caribbean content too. Stay tuned! CUOTO
@@TimBatSea Will do! I’m excited!
Tim- Fair winds and followings seas!
Thank you very much David. CUOTO

Thank you!
Thank you very much! I appreciate that. The channel continues, and there will be new places to see and a lot of towing. CUOTO
That was an excellent video. I did not realize how much the Roosevelt I and Manhattan side had grown.
Thank you for watching Jack. There has been quite a bit of construction going on over there lately. CUOTO
Good Morning Captain. I wish you the best on your newest adventure(s) and Thank You for for resurrecting some fond memories of the area you have worked so hard in over the past years. Sunny skies and fair winds sir!
Thank you very much Steve. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
Thanks for the video Tim. I wish you all the best in your new adventure. I thoroughly enjoyed all your tug work videos in and around NYC. I especially appreciate all of the educational aspects and how you have trained and mentored many of your crew members. Thanks for taking us along, CUOTO
Thank you very much Todd. I appreciate your kind words. CUOTO
Hello from Perth Australia. I have just found your channel and enjoy it
Thank you very much for watching and welcome to the channel. CUOTO
I love that! Thank you very much for watching! CUOTO
Growing up in North Dakota and living in Minnesota I have found your channel very enjoyable and learned quite a few things I wouldn't have if not for your trips and commentaries. I wish for you safe travels and all the best! Thanks!
Thank you very much Thomas. I hope you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
Tim, good luck. Looking forward to seeing your new boat. Also looking forward to you making it into the Med some day with Paquita! 😀
Thank you very much John. I do think you will like the Caribbean content, and yes! I do hope/dream of sailing Paquita to the Med!!! CUOTO
Your comments about steerage with tide effects were very helpful for me. I had a dramatic experience crossing an incoming tide while outgoing in a channel got my blood turning. My rudders quickly seemed to not be there at all.
Very glad it helped Elwood. CUOTO
Thank you very much, but don't go anywhere. I'll keep posting content but from the Caribbean and feature a lot more towing. CUOTO
Congrats on the new position!! Can't wait to see the videos from the warm south.
Thank you very much Kevin. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
I find listening you peacefull.
Thank you for watching (and listening). CUOTO
CUOTO
Thank you very much Randy. The channel continues. And I'll be Sailing SVP back next month for her summer home 8n Rhode Island. CUOTO
Good luck and happy sailing! As a new ocean boater who stumbled across you channel, I have learned a lot....and I will remember to shut of our underwater lights when underway :-). Best Sir!

Great video!! Spectacular scenery! With a sprinkle of melancholy ......All the very best, wherever your travels take you, Capt. Tim! Btw, before I forget, why don't you ever sit in that very comfortable looking Captain's chair?? ;)
Thank you for watching. That chair is very good while on auto pilot. Not so much otherwise. CUOTO
Outstanding Capt; high Ho it’s off to another adventure we go. Best of luck 🤞. Now we all have to do is wait for the new bog’s and another different view of the way we move cargo to different arts of he world. CUTO a we say in the Navy it’s Haze Grey and Underay. 😁🤪💪🏻😎
Thank you very much. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
Hi Captain. It took me a few days to process your big news, but thanks for all the great videos and conversations in the harbor and especially the beautiful Hudson River where I am accustom to. Good luck to you Tim.
Thank you very much Kevin. Stay tuned. The channel continues. Now with newer scenery and a lot of offshore towing. CUOTO
Great video again Tim and I will miss the local scenery and videos. Happy that you are staying on your career goals and track and that you are heading to warmer climates. Also closer to Pequita! 👍. Looking forward to your new adventures.

Is that the statue of liberty on the left side? Love it. Thank you for taking me with you today.
Thank you for watching Jack. Yes that is the lady Liberty. CUOTO
Thanks as usual always enjoyable..fair winds and following seas my friend CUOTO
Thank you very much Lester. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
Bon Voyage!
Thank you very much for watching. I think you might also enjoy the Caribbean content. Stay tuned. CUOTO
Ahoy Mate! When where you stationed on GI?
Very happy for you. Looking forward to following your next journey. Todd from Ohio.
Thank you very much Todd! CUOTO
Thank you very much. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
Congratulations on your new posting. Enjoy the new climes, thanks for the entertainment. See you in the UK sometime I hope.
I hope so! Thank you very much. CUOTO
Congratulations on your change in venue! Hopefully you will be able to share new geography with us that we would not otherwise see.
Thank you very much Elwood. I am sure you will like the Caribbean content. CUOTO
I've only i found your channel and enjoy it! That said, and I would guess that it's been pointed out before, but Hell's Gate is on the Fraser River in British Columbia. It's the product of a landslide sometime before recorded history in that area.
Thank you for watching Ron. Cool info. CUOTO
Thank you very much John. I will continue to post on this channel but now with a Caribbean flair and a lot more towing. CUOTO
What? The one time I’m late watching and get broadsided with this bombshell. What a rip off! You have some nerve! 😉 Congratulations, Tim.
😂😂😂😂 Thank you very much Scott. The channel continues. Just now with new and improved content. CUOTO
Congratulations on your new adventures With the sea there's always more...
Thank you very much. CUOTO
The best of luck Tim, and thank you for the content on this channel. I enjoy each and every episode. Have safe trip en CUOTO ! Gonna miss this...
Thank you Jord. Nothing to miss. The channel continues but with a Caribbean flair and a lot more towing. CUOTO
