      I'm from New Orleans Louisiana also but not from uptown. Was born uptown. I was downtown and lived on corner house on Arts and Clayborne street is where I grew up in the 70's I came came back to New Orleans Louisiana in 1976 after my uncle was killed by the kkk born in New Orleans lived in Chicago in 1970 to 1976. My little sister was born in Chicago in 1972. I do remember all those things you have mentioned when I came back to New Orleans Louisiana you forgotten the afro pick and Towle in the back pants pocket. People back then in New Orleans said that look gangster when you do that. My mother is a Christian woman and never let us do those thing.

      I'm from New Orleans also, had two houses damaged by hurricane katrina in the 8th Ward. This song is my favorite childhood song and my next favorite childhood song is Tomorrow, by brothers Johnson.

    I know da Boppers were from LOS ANGELES. I was in the USMC stationed in Cali when the 2nd album came out. It was titled da L.A. Boppers. But I had more love for them than all of LA. I searched but could never catch a live performance. This will always be a NOLA song... because it's real music!
