Vlad who is the current drummer came in when they did pisces. That live session was actually to showcase Vlad's drumming skills because they liked the sound that he brought to the band. He is also a self taught drummer just like Tatiana is a self taught vocalist. She's had no training for her growls other than a few singing lessons as a kid, never warms up, smokes, drinks and still never misses a beat and she was influenced by otep when she realised that women could do it just as good if not better than any male. Also Gwen Stafani and Amy winehouse. Definitely check out one of their new songs called Vortex from their new album Wallflower. It's really heavy mixed in with a nice combo of cleans. They have only just gotten better. Another good one would be their live performance for Who's gonna be the one live in Kiev. Just thought I would give you some background info 👌
Now come on, had you ever heard the word “fressed” (to have eaten gluttonously) before? Tati teaches us new words frequently. 😂 Yes, this is old. Yes, previous drummer Dmitriy Kim. He has his own band now, but for a while he was drumming for this band 😍 ruclips.net/video/PBcIQnexebY/видео.html
There has been a definite evolution. When you get a chance I'd suggest Scissors off their second record "Inhale Don't Breath", the first with Tati doing all vocals, Outlander (the one uploaded by Failure .Color") from their third record Cloud Factory, and also Who Is Gonna Be The One official live which is kinda in between Cloud Factory and King of Everything because they re-worked it to work with one guitarist when the rhythm guitarist left to pursue acting after Cloud Factory. Also I highly recommend Pit of Consciousness and Judgement & Punishment off their latest album Macro because they have great guitar work. p.s. What's with all the bots lately? What are they trying to accomplish? I'm assuming they are exploiting some algorithm, but I have no idea what.
This is 4 years old, this drummer filled in after their drummer had an accident (he fell out of 3rd story window and broke his spine). Vlad, their current drummer joined shortly after this video and now is their longest tenured drummer. The album this came off of had a huge variety of music. Some were very complex and varied, some were very hard like this one, and then there was Beggar's dance.
You so picked the right video to react to tomorrow. Teacher Teacher is probably their flagship video at this time. It truly showcases all members at their best. Pit of Consciousness is pretty neck and neck with it as well.
I think a huge factor in the added complexity of their recent songwriting has been this new drummer. Vlad plays guitar, drums, keyboards and who knows what else.
JInjer was relatively unknown when this song was released. Within a couple days it hit 100,000 views and caught the attention of Napalm Records and lead to their signing.
Holy shit, you're THAT Timotato. I knew that name sounded familiar. In a former life I was an editor for AndroidSPIN among many other projects I've been involved with over the years, I'm quite familiar with your work. What a crazy world.
This song if I remember correctly was written my Eugene who is the bassist. Most of their other songs at least lyrically are written by Tati. They all work on their own parts. Tati does all the lyrics currently and they "boys" as she puts it work on the music aspect. I do believe Tati is a guitarist or can at least play. So can Vlad their drummer.
The Pisces Live session you started on was recorded with the intention of showcasing the drummer, Vlad, who had just joined the band permanently after being a back-up for them fir a while. Demitry (sp?) here is a good drummer, but an even better drum production tech, apparently. He wanted to pursue that career over touring with Jinjer. They still work with him in the studio.
Oh that's weird. I heard he had an accident involving his back which left him unable to tour. Unless I misheard Tatiana's story. Her accent is tough to decipher first time through.
This song is fun as fuck to play on guitar! If u have a 2nd guitar laying around i would highly recommend tuning it down to drop B and try play this song and "Captain clock" so fucking fun songs to play
Nice review dude, interesting to see it from the "other side" - most of reviews are by people who dig pop and get introduced to heavy for the first time by listening to Jinjer, 1st song you reviewed :). But anyway, as you like heavy *and* complex, you are gonna love Ape by them, or at the very least you should be able to understand it.
I know I'm a little late to the party, and you probably know all this by now, but... yeah it's a different drummer, this was the drummer that did the recording for this album. This is the same album that Pisces is on, but you are right, Perennial was on the following album and On the Top was the album after that. They recorded this album with this drummer, shortly after which he left the band. Then they hired a new drummer, Vlad (the bald one) and they wanted to re-record Pisces to showcase their new drummer so they did the live session that you saw with him. If you listen closely you will notice that the song is indeed different than the studio album version. This song has never been one of my favourite Jinjer songs, I still like it, but it just lacks the colour that most of their songs have. It's just all speed and very little variation. Most of their songs are constantly changing and it keeps it interesting, but this one is just the same all the way through. A lot of the songs on this album are like this. I personally feel like the album before this was better musically. I believe it was more complex and more exciting. They had yet another drummer on that record and he was a force of nature, the drumming on that album is so good, unfortunately he broke his back and had to leave the band. Speaking of progression that album really showed their metalcore and groove metal origins, they left a lot of that behind in this album. Their newer stuff has gone in a much more progressive direction. It's slowed down a bit, especially after losing a guitarist, left room for the instruments to breathe and it has gotten a lot more complex, which I like. I would recommend listening to Pit of Consciousness (official live video), it's currently my favourite Jinjer song, and it's off their newest album
Pisces, Sit Stay Roll Over, Words of Wisdom and I Speak Astronomy are all from King of Everything CD 2016. Each Very different songs. This release had Dmitry Kim on drums, But the Pisces remake was done to showcase Vlad and the different style he brought. Others have mentioned it, but you can tell when stuff was done just by Tatiana's hair and tattoos. I get what most people say about them evolving, but I really see it as member changes. each release has a different drummer at least. old stuff had 2 guitarists up to Cloud Factory. But the last EP and LP , MICRO and MACRO are the new stable line up and have the same style and sound overall. I know they were only 8 months apart but it is the first time 2 releases sound alike.
The easiest way to establish timeline is by looking at Tati. I'm sure that's not a tough ask for y'all. In this video she had her dreads. So it's the oldest. In this video and in Pisces she only has a tattoo sleeve on the right arm. But Pisces has the newer drummer Vlad. So it its 2nd oldest. In Perennial and On the Top she has sleeves on both arms as well as a neck tattoo. By the way her neck tattoo is a representation of the Aztec serpent god Quetzecoatl. Perennial is literally dated to August 2019. On The Top it's the lead track on their new album Macro released in October 2019. So the timeline is established.
They've always been prog metal, but their earlier stuff was more metalcore/groove and their later stuff added heavier riffs and went off the prog deep end. This was the first album with only 1 guitarist and the switch to drop A (from drop C). You can date how old a vid is by Tati's tats.
Teacher, Teacher for gods sake! lol At their shows they like to say "Who is gonna be the one is hardcore all the way from Ukraine" It's a heavy song that may be more familiar to what you like.
Bro the dead giveaway is Tatiana isn't all all sleeved up and with a neck tattoo. Ya got to check out Jinjer- who is going to be the one live wacken. She hit a growl that is dumbfounding and the end of the song is cool af. If you like the end of it check out judgment and punishment the music video.
The band have change "style" for sure, but like all the band. With that, for me Jinjer = diversity. When you hear a song you know that is Jinjer, but next song will not sound like the previous. After seeing your previous video, I think you will have a good time listening too Outlander. Old song but good stuff, like always with them ^^
every song is diferent, this is their old drummer, he had a lifechanging trauma :( and they replaced it with Vlad, they both are awesome, this is a band that has a jazz song in a metal album, so they have one of a kind style since the beggining :)
Vlad who is the current drummer came in when they did pisces. That live session was actually to showcase Vlad's drumming skills because they liked the sound that he brought to the band. I've never heard the word before in English, but in German there's the word 'fressen' which is the verb 'to eat' used specifically for animals.
From your comments, I think you'll like "Pit of Consciousness". Off the newest album, has the more complex writing, but with some really heavy riffs.
Bots wanna be friends! lol Thank you for the Jinjer education this past week. It's been extremely valuable 😊

Tim Price beggars dance slaps Ngl

JINJER-
Pit of Consciousness (live in kiev) 🔥
Ape (official video) 💥

Perhaps the point of showing you older, heavier songs after you called “Perennial” slow was to show you the growth they’ve had. 😊
It makes perfect sense now! ☺️
The Pisces Live session you started on was recorded with the intention of showcasing the drummer, Vlad, who had just joined the band permanently after being a back-up for them fir a while. I recommend "I Speak Astronomy" and "Just Another".
Yes, this was drummer number 4. He appears in all the videos from the King of Everything album.
I know I'm a little late to the party, and you probably know all this by now, but...

Jinjer - Judgement (& Punishment) | Live in Melbourne 2020

Live at Atlas, not Wacken.
Captain Clock, Words of Wisdom or No Hoard of Value for heavy! Jinjer always gets you the first 1000 subs easily.
The drummer is Dmitry Kim
Speak Astronomy Live @Motorcultor 😁👍
and would you like to see another different Jinjer drummer (my fav Jinjer drummer)? Then react to Cloud Factory official video 👌🏽
The band have change "style" for sure, but like all the band.
With that, for me Jinjer = diversity. When you hear a song you know that is Jinjer, but next song will not sound like the previous.
After seeing your previous video, I think you will have a good time listening too Outlander. Old song but good stuff, like always with them ^^
nah.. I heart the younger chavvier version of Jinjer more
check "Cloud Factory" (live from Napalm)
u can tell in wich time u are by watching her tatoos, this vid is old, thats why it has the old drummer xD
This is actually one of the few political based songs from Jjnjer. It is about the war in Ukraine.
This is also an older song with a previous drummer.
It's Jeffrey Fisher and Jen G. again. They're everywhere !
Pisces is on this album.
every song is diferent, this is their old drummer, he had a lifechanging trauma :( and they replaced it with Vlad, they both are awesome, this is a band that has a jazz song in a metal album, so they have one of a kind style since the beggining :)
Tazzz sorry but you are wrong.. this drummer was a temp between Vlad and the drummer that fell out the window.. he stood in for 1 album
ok, I'm not that sure so thanks
The year the video was released should kinda tell you it was older.... Do you even RUclips?
That drummer on this song broke his back and is now paralyzed from the waist down.. but he now mixes sound for the band..
They've had three drummers... this is drummer 2... the current guy is the best of the lot... and bald.
S M U G
Old line up old drummer extra guitarist
react to retrospection or teacher, teacher, those are really good, far better....
Here’s a commercially unsuccessful musician who is so blatantly angry and jaded his opinion is rendered moot.
What are you referring to?
You're reactions seem too much like 'been there, done that'. Doesn't make for great reactions imo.
Terrible. Just simple and plain awful.
