Something oddly satisfying about watching a stranger on the internet experience the music you love for the first time (and like it) :)
This is such an underrated band! I recently discovered them. I was blown away. Yeah the raspy catchy screams are wicked! ❤
this album is so good
one of my favorite albums of all time
The experience that is hearing BCKYRD live in person is ridiculous, they play that song so hard and I almost broke down in tears
I could never fall asleep listening to Hot Mully. those lyrics will put you in your thoughts for fucking hours. theyre no joke. and their newest album "why would I watch" is even more of a mental gut punch. But theyre 100% the without a doubt the #1 hot new band. Go see them live. one of the best live performances I've seen in the scene and I've been going to shows for over 20 years now.
Great video btw
I've yet to see anyone react to Hot Mulligan and say anything about the lyrics or meaning of the song.
I feel like I'm going crazy here ...like the instrumentation is clearly amazing, but the appeal of this band has always been the raw and brutal sincerity and emotional depth of the vocals and lyrics.
Like every reaction is just "wow nice bridge here. Oh yeah that's a catchy riff". Like the appeal of Hot Mulligan is that their instrumentation is perfect but you don't get to intellectualize any of it and distance yourself from the vibes because the lyrics grab your attention and pull you in. Maybe all the people I've seen react to and/or review then just don't have much to say about that part, but it just always feels like a youtube content version of when I show a friend a song that means a lot to me and they don't do any emotional processing or really engage with the feelings in the song. Honestly feels kinda frustrating 😅
Any chance we could get a bckyrd reaction on its own?
