when i saw that thumbnail,i was about to report it for misinformation
And you should
Well there was a question mark
everything is misinformation
Do it
youre misinformation
After hearing the designer explain who this set is for gets me really excited for this set even more. I collect gunpla and this mech is basically in the range of articulation, and gimmicks of gunpla. Now I’m hoping for LEGO to do a gundam collaboration.
Seeing the sliding knee armor, the double jointed elbow, the upper arm and thigh swivel, this set absolutely screams gunpla to me. This might just be a day 1 purchase for me
I have an even better idea. A Lego mecha theme. Like, the mechs we're getting are great and all, but imagine the amount of freedom and creativity if they got there own theme.
@@jimbi0768so basically you just want to bring back exo force
@@yumahummus5033 I’d like if they did something like Exo-Force and leaned towards anime-design for the mechs, but leaned away from the anime-esque minifigs
It's a pretty massive mech as well, looks bigger than most pgs and surprisingly it looks really well detailed, almost like a lego barbatos
2:48 that was smooooooooooooooooth
edit: can we get one more like pleeeeeeaaaaase
edit: thanks for the likes
Dude was like "we are doing all of this in one take, falling boxes be damned".
Like that’s impressive!
Nah man that Lego Ninjago box sure feels like it was clearly an paid actor 😂
fr LOL
I am reviewing NINJAgo sets after all…
If Ninjago cant break out of the 6-9 age range then they need to make a new 12+ series. It feels like therea no tween/teen market anymore, unless youre a fan of model cars and technic.
What about all the larger licensed sets? I think Lego fans get way too focused on classifying things and don't actually pay attention to what the sets are. When I was 12, I could pretty much go for any Lego set aside from the super small, low effort sets. I mean, pretty much every line these days has one or two sets in all size ranges, with varying levels of play. I don't know man, it just seems like a new thing to complain about, just to have something to complain about.
I agree! Seeing Markets and the Dragon Stone Shrine being 14+ makes me so happy and seen 😊
A 12+ series...hmmm, they should call it "Bionicle".
@@Bionickpunk yes
😂
I js want Lego Godzilla
You had us in the first half
People complaining about the mech color schemes are stupid. The colors work. Jfc. The color scheme absolutely works in a technical sense. Three complementary earth tones with one colorful accent. It is not relevant that someone does not like the color scheme because Cole does not wear white. LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS!?
No it looks amazing in my opinion
The Titans mechs are all very white
We should keep the gimmic mechs like kai's climber, lloyd's keetongu mech or combo mech in the "play style" while Titan series mechs should be well articulated.
I agree! That would be such a good way to do it
Titan Mechs should be treated like the Ninjago City modulars.
@@Bionickpunk yeah but the combo mech (which is known for it horrible articulation) is actually considered a titan mech which means we may not be able to expect too much from these
Only 1 Minifigure isn't a negative to me. The side builds are fun, but all i need in an awesome mech is the mech itself and the pilot. The other stuff ends up in a bin. Give me the core pieces and a lower price any day
The age restriction makes so much sense for mechs now. I always hate that they removed a lot of articulations from the Marvel mechs, but I just now noticed they also changed the age target, it was 7+ and now it is 6+, so that's why.
dont know if anyone remembers this channel but this thing would have went absolutely CRAZY in a lordstarscream100 ninjago movie
I agree!! I actually voiced a character in one of his movies back in the day before DuckBricks was a thing haha
Hello.
I’ll keep this in mind, thanks Crusty. 😉
Dude has no fear walking down the stairs backwards
“Specific product” alright LEGO, that’s fair for ninjago. For monkie kid however, that already builds absolutely MASSIVE and highly detailed mechs, this SHOULD be the new standard.
I’m actually excited to see Jang’s review of this when he gets this in August because he actually builds a lot of Gundam models & other adult oriented mechs.
same but its taking him a while lol
I can't wait for him to delete comments saying anything negative about the set!
@@Gundamdude843 hmmm
To be fair Cole feels the most mature in the group
Even though he gets distracted by food😅
The average teenager lmao
One could dream of a smaller mech with this much articulation
1:48 the little stud falling off was really funny to me for some reason
The potential for stop motion is absolutely absurd
Clickbait level 100
What’s great about this set is how this mech is able to pull it off so mocists can use the instructions to create their own mech using this format and I think this mech is using hip swivel on the elemental mechs earlier this year on upper legs and arms
And now Lego, give us a real Gundam set please
Thanks you for this. Your title got me 😅 for a moment I thought I’d made a huge mistake when I’d said this was one of the best I’d seen! Looking forward to buying it and getting it built 👍
Man, he's been talking about articulation and roasting all of the next mechs for half a video.
3:56
lego really said "nah we want to make mid"
The most impressive part of the video is how he can walk backwards through all of those legos without even rubbing against one
0:29 he said it was the best click bait 😂
Cole is now a Gundam piolet
That title can't be true... IT CAN'T!!! (love your videos Chris)
I think he means that it’s the worst because it’s so good that no other Mech will come close to topping this articulation wise, so it’ll ruin his enjoyment of future mechs if they also don’t have this same level of articulation.
@@ComicBoy750 I know, I watched his full wave review where he was praising this set, I was just joking here :]
👇Like this comment if yr an older fan of Ninjago!
Never got a Ninjago mech in my life and I was considering finding Zanes online. This looks insane though, im definitely going to scrape the cash to get this masterpiece.
if you want this set i would wait for sales as every lego set now goes on sale it seems and doesnt sell out like it used to which might help you get it cheaper.
It's perfect, only bad part is that I have to wait till August when the rest of the world has it now!
Yeah i agree this mech is a masterpiece from LEGO, ngl after watching your mega review, this became my favourite LEGO mech of all time
SAME
I just can’t express how much I love this mech. Not only is it beautiful, but there is so much more potential for photography and possible Brickfilms. Also, I’m totally gonna be playing with this set 😂 It’s a giant freaking Lego mech
Alright, the posing on 4:37 looks badass from a front view
I genuinely hope that Bionicle G3 has a design like this, if its supposed to be all bricks.
Technic calf muscles on a lego mech is such a genius yet simple design that I'm confused on why lego hasn't incorporated in it yet, and why lego would not consider this in the future
Lego : let's just add knees in this pretty sure it will be the same
Everyone : take all our money!!!
2:50 im never skipping the cutscene again
I may have only 4 titan mechs (Lloyd’s, Zane’s, Sam x, ultra combo)… but this… I must continue the collection. This is the ultimate leader
I hate minifigs and now reselling alot of my old Lego it’s biting me in the ass how few I have the figs built and organized for because people care so much which never crossed my mind when I got into Lego collecting
The minifigs and the weapons/accessories are my favorite part of LEGO collecting but I also really enjoy unique pieces or colors of certain parts. I have about 400 minifigs some are pretty expensive and rare.
I honestly start to think that because of mechs like this, we might see some more studs on sides parts created. I honestly feel that unusual things like slope with studs on side would help this model not lose parts that easily.
Sets that push part library to its limits are my favourite
I bought and built this yesterday, it's incredibly cool in person, even my friend that knows nothing about lego thought it looked great
Regarding minifigs...
My philosophy is that there are three types of sets: Clearly set made for minifigs, clearly set made with build in mind, and in between.
Battlepacks, City parks, some small impulse buys are first one, you appreciate that build is there, you can look at parts it contains, but everyone can see that it's something to either disperse between bigger sets or just straight up parts giver, minifigs are the main reason it exist.
This set, Creator sets, Icons, biggest wave sets, UCS's are examples of builds for build sake. Minifigs are add on if can be squeezed in, but even without them set itself feels worth it. And honestly, I could do without Cole in this one even.
And then there are in betweens. A sets that are not the smallest but not the biggest, minifigs are fine and in acceptable amount, build is fine, that's the bulk amount of sets released really. When they feel overpriced, they probably should come with more minifigs to make value feel better, but both minifigs and build combined are a reason anyone would get it. If you want one or the other, you won't feel that value is there.
Dude literally said it’s the worst because it’s the best!! 😭🙌😆
I personally think WORST set is a strong opinion, I personally think it’s better than most Titan Mechs
Yep as said in the video, I only called it the worst because it will make every future Lego mech look bad in comparison lol
My bad…I watched it at zero volume lmao :P
After they do Kai’s Titan Mech, I hope Lego will consider doing some 18+ mechs of their in-line themes in the vein of this set (but with more pieces and bigger). Everyone who grew up with the likes of Exo-Force and Ninjago would be thrilled. It wouldn’t be unlike what Lego does by offering Speed Champions as well as the Creator Expert/Icons vehicles.
2:50 damn that was smooooth
Not the new standard, eh? I have a better idea. BUY MORE COLE'S TITAN MECH. Buy enough of this set, and they might just change their mind! I know it's a big purchase, but it's not about money. It's about sending a message.
That’s why I really wanted this video to do well, to help get the word out about how amazing this is. I hate clickbait but it was necessary to spread the word LOL
@@DuckBricks Aye, fair enough. And that's exactly why I enjoy watching your content. You're detailed, thorough, extremely knowledgeable, and still love Bionicle. I offer sincere thanks for your passion and knowledge!
This is literally drugs for Ninjago mech fans and im all here for it as one
Agreed. I just ordered this, jays Titan mech, and a few other sets and I’m going to saving this mech for last because I know if I don’t I’m not to enjoy building jays mech.
Dude has the most insane lego collection ive ever seen
Good thing i have that i have been playing with it so much and it doesn’t break but the torso connection was meh but everything else was amazing
Can you make the mech do a mediation pose
I did my best in the video!
At this point I really do not understand why Lego can’t just create some new Bionicle-esque construction system? Like, if they want to do highly articulated action figures but don’t want to them to feel too complicated, then just make new CCBS/Bionicle parts system and build those things with it, so there won’t be need in those complicated 1000+ pieces system builds🤷
I don't think they want to make articulated action figures. It seems to me that this is the last project of a designer who had a lot of clout and respect, so they gave him Carte Blanche
Bad news from tannerfishes this mech isn't the new standard for lego mechs rather an experiment
Whats the mech with the big eye at 7:14 ?
It’s a custom of Brick Legends’ Preminent Mech!
I came here to see if anyone else asked that. I can recognize all of them but that one and I see someone else replied but I can't see the reply. The head suggests Chima but other than that I'm at a loss.
@@rebaav It’s a custom of Brick Legends’ Preminent Mech!
Not me planning on getting this set to strip it off and use its chasis to make custom remake of Mountain Warrior combiner from the first wave of Exo-Force
When looking at this set I can't help but wonder if the designers were inspired by Gunpla model kits for the build of this set.
The articulation, the sliding pieces, the size, even the look, is very Gunpla-esque to me.
And while I am interested in picking this up, I don't know if I would say the price is worth it, especially when I can buy a far cheaper Gunpla model kit for 20 to 30 bucks that has the exact same articulation as this figure does, if not more, along with more accessories.
The mech is only for 18 to 25 years old
I primarily collect Lego Star Wars, but this mech is so good that Im seriously considering buying it once it reaches around 75 Euros
As someone who has bought lots of legos, I've not seen more than one or two sets to become cheaper. Lego usually retires them and then they get more expensive. However, this is from my experience, so you may not take this as 100% certain 😅.
2:49 smooth transition 🦾
Honestly..... I'm okay with Niek taking over as kind of a design overseer for the entire theme. Most of the builds that he is produced for us have been absolute bangers, so if he holds the people under him to that same standard we could be eating real well in the future. And as for this, this is the magnum opus, this is the greatest Mech ever.
It’s really good value at $100. Heck I thought the Mei’s Mech was good at the Monkie Kid side.
...goddamnit I kinda want this now, and I don't really have space for more in my room >^
For a lifelong lego action figure/mech fan, this is a dream come true, both the aesthetics and articulation are at their peak here, it's basically a lego Gundam gunpla kit! This one is definitely gonna be my new favorite set of all time, once I'll eventually get it!
It isn't really that bad, but it's a good mech after all. Cole deserved it
I think it’s the best mech Lego has ever made! I only called it the worst because it retroactively makes every other mech look bad lol
All those crappy Cole sets in the past are forgiven
Oh my goodness, I didn't realise that all four limbs had horizontal rotation as well. That does it; my wallet is going to suffer for a good cause later this winter (southern hemisphere).
I just built Coles Mech last night, what an amazing build. I did modify his wings on the back by putting the top most axe pieces lower down to looks more like Gundam Wings. His sword is huge, almost too big though.
I:47 you lost a piece of the mech😢
HAH he did xD
I would really like for you to change title and thumbnail to not be a clickbait, because I feel like it generally likely gon a make matters worse for people who aren't in Lego fan circles, just like the set didn't do itself a favor of properly demonstrating on the back that it has a lot of articulations, and instead just went with second cover art. I myself love this mech, and feel like straight up saying that its good gonna be more effective than this
*A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one* 9:43
I'm here for the older mech builders.
Usually i like ninjago dragons more but i gotta get this
i mean its not like children dont want more posable mechs wtf?
idk i think limiting the posability is a miscalculation on legos part it just makes sets worse in every way
You had me at the start! But this mech is so cool, I'm getting Gundam vibes and seriously could be my first ever mech purchase
My copy's arms won't stay on edit: I forgot to add the black pins I'm dumb
I was sceptical when they said biggest best mech because I thought nothing was gonna top Zane's titan mech or Lloyd's titan mech but then I saw this and holy moly it topped them both especially when I learned who designed it and then it made sense.
6:30 POV: Master Wu in season 11😂😂😂
Darn international shipping laws! But hey, at least I can make more decisions on which sets I wanna get on day one. Well...I'm thinking of just getting them all best this cole mech might have to be the first one I grab off the shelf! I said it once and I'll say it again, really wish there were more villain figures in this wave, feels like a repeat of season 1 dragons rising but at least I can army build with the polybag!
So I gather this is amazing (although I don't own anything Ninjago) how realistic is it for sets half or a third of the price to have the stability and articulation of this?
i have the source dragon of motion and it is as good as my lego set and i want to get this one too. because it will make a good set for my dragons rising season 2 part 2 collection. I got the 12+ 71822 source dragon of motion lego set even if i am 7 year old.
I really love your insight, Chris. For me, my worry is that since Niek is not the principal designer of Ninjago Mechs, future Kai Titan Mechs might compromise either in aesthetics or articulation. Hopefully, somehow, Niek will leave a prototype design for Kai Titan Mech so that the signature style of Titan Mech's line-up will remain.
What if a earth quake happens in the place he is living?
In real life this may be one of the best mechs, but in the actual show its gonna be easily beaten and extremely weak. Im just guessing because i haven’t seen the mech in the show yet
This is a game changer! And hearing that this is a one-off targeted at a slightly older audience makes the future of LEGO mechs very exciting. Also I didn’t realise that LEGO brought back the BIONICLE piston pieces which is really cool.
That’s true! Lego could always choose to do something like this again, especially if this set does well! And technically the piston piece has never been gone - it just hasn’t been used as a piston in years!
While it's obviously a bit disappointing for lego to clarify that other future mech sets won't all be up to this standard, I'm praying lego recognises that the market is there for more products of this quality, whether it be more ninjago geared towards a slightly older audience or a new theme/subtheme aimed at delivering these more gundam-esque mech experiences
I was scared when i saw the thumbnail
😊how good this lego #71821 can be? Just Watching this man can spent 40 minutes+ just talking about this single Mech itself..what's legendary about ❤
The guy that made the title of the vid is a genius
Something I don't like abour the knees ( I love that they can bend since zanes titan) is that the white side armor that keeps the rail intact always falls of while bending. I'm pretty sure it's because the rail is consisting of 2 parts each. So there are 2 ledges that can cought up and stop the knee from bending. It's hard to explain but kinda confused why it didn't fall apart while he's bending the knee in the vid
First off...this is an AMAZING model. I really can't wait to get my hands on it.
Second...Chris is gonna straight up turn into Conor Maynard singing his sad banger in a couple of years. Masterpiece.
I loved seeing you in lego masters
They rlly took inspiration from Ransom Fern's Mocs to use that much articulation 💀
“The best lego mech”, but the title says its the worst
1:48 a piece falls off the foot
Mr Brick, where did you get that art print next to your mechs from?
This is the perfect match. Period.
Very very trick title 😂
LOL I had to
It certainly isn't more articulation than a human, it just has more joints to try to live up to what we can do with our much more flexible joints.
Me: I'm not interessted in this set🥱
Also me after seeing Reviews from Duckbricks and brick by mind: I do want it, but I don't have enough money 😭
THE WURST
