We all knew in the UK then when Kraft took over Cadbury's they would change the well trusted secret formula for the chocolate. Cream eggs, dairy milk, twirl etc all now have that slightly greasey aftertaste you get with American chocolate. It's as if our chocolate heritage and childhood memories have been stolen away
They also changed the Fairtrade policy on cocoa which had been Cadbury's backbone. Once there were principals behind products. Morals, quality. So it goes...
Cadbury's was once one of the best tasting chocolates out there but as soon as Kraft took over the taste got worse and worse now it taste like a cheap, over sweet horrible tasting chocolate. I no longer buy cadbury chocolates.
jon allen Isn't Kraft owned by Warren Buffet ? I know he owns Heinz plus many other companies. One is BNSF Railroad,A pre-fab Housing company. This is just a drop in the bucket. He doesn't care about anything but 💰💰💰💰 !
That is simply because channels such as this, where they simply use topical subjects to get high viewing figures are purely interested in making money from youtube advertising contracts. Most of these channels are based in India, where the monies that they make in $US are worth a lot more when transferred into rupees.
Accents and regional dialects are a thing. Also most Americans pronounce things wrong especially when the company is originally from Europe or another country. Americans just always think they are right.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Yo this comment is so spot on in all 3 of the McDonalds I pass during my daily travels theyre icr cream machine is always broke. I start my order off at any Micky Ds with asking if the ice cream is up.
My husband worked in management for one of these companies... I can absolutely confirm that “new & improved recipe” means “we found a way to make it cheaper. They also shave the size of product but keep the same price or even sneak a price hike through.
Obviously, companies are greedy and dont care about quality, what the customers want, or safety or ethics. Only money. ALso ignore the idiot burticle bean.
That's why i hate all manager. They are stupid as fuck. Coke taste like shit now, kraft dinner too, singles cheese became rocks into your guts, etc... But it is ok, i don't buy them anymore...
I agree! None of the cereals taste like they do when 1st introduced. It's a conspiracy to get you to love the product...then they change it like we forgot what we liked about it!!
Anyone else notice how the Burger King Whopper meat patties are getting so thin, you can nearly shave with them? They should rename it the Whimper ( of its former size ).
I worked for Burger King in it's early days. A Whopper was $0.50 and you couldn't hold it with one hand unless you could palm a volleyball or basketball. We ground our own beef, cut our own vegetables and did NOT put them on the burger. They were out on a bar, and you got a bun with a meat patty and dressed them yourself. Burger Chef had that too. The Whopper today is a bit smaller than the Whopper Jr. when it first came out. The Jr. is the size of the regular slider/burger they used to sell for $0.15. WhatABurgers meat patty's taste like cardboard and I suspect has glue to hold it in shape. The paper it's wrapped in is about the thickness of the patty. The veggies on all burgers now are a soggy, slimey imitation. The veggies used to be crisp and flavorful. Biting into a tomato should not pull the sandwich apart. Lol
I thought for sure you would have Raisin Bran on the list. Several years ago I got a real craving for this cereal and went and bought a box. I was so disappointed. It tasted nothing like it did when I was young. Now the cereal in general is bland and the flakes are seriously like cardboard. They must have changed something. I know for sure any time a product says “New and Improved” it’s not!
I agree but flip flop the taste. I love the old raisin bran because it tasted dry and super healthy, not so different from cardboard, there were just enough raisins to break up the monotony. Now they literally sprayed on a thin layer of glaze to the bran and doubled the raisins, it's overly sweet and has become totally ruined by the excess sugar.
rafsandiego I had one when I was in London early this year and it still had that burn. It tastes so much better over there than in the US. I’ve never been a Coca Cola lover (Pepsi is the shit) but if they tasted like over there I would def start drinking Coke.
artificial flavorings came about when they had to change Root Beer's flavoring. people were becoming allergic to it, so they banned it for a while. but when other soda companies saw how much cheaper artificial flavoring was, they all changed their tunes too. Pepsi was derived from pepcid--so it helped soothe a tummy ache, and we all know of coca-cola's famous reputation of having cocaine in it, and Dr.Pepper was made from prunes. sodas were originally medicine and tonics, for occasional use--that's why they were found in drugstores.
Not secretly! It's a blatant move. They reduce the size, then you come to the shop and you don't see what you're looking for. You find a smaller version, then you see it's sold for the same price as the previous size was. Thinking "Blasted! Prices have gone up again," you buy it, not having a choice... Or you may complain to a staff member in the shop, it's smaller so it should cost less... But the unfortunate situation is - take it or leave it.
Lol i used to eat so many of these things and yes its all true. The taste for these things is pure garbage now. Its funny though because i dont care at all, i stopped eating unhealthy and feel so much better phsycially, mentally and emotionally.
Taco Bell: I used to work there back in the late 80's (it was my first "real" job) and it was all made by hand, the taco shells where real corn tortillas deep fried by us.The cinnamon crisps were real flour tortillas too. I used to mix the cinnamon and sugar coating and that is the extent of the ingredients...everything down to the onions were chopped in house from fresh onions, heck even the beans were made just like at home and so was the beef. Now everything is pre- prepped and comes in bags...just add water and nuke it. Sad that this generation won't ever know what the real Taco Bell used to taste like, as the modern Taco Hell tastes and looks like dog food and people lap that shit up. lol
Ah, the cinnamon crisps. They've completely lost their flavour. No cinnamon and sugar on them anyhmore. Again, like Cheetos Puffs, the company seems to have decided that if they take away the stuff that makes it taste good, no-one will notice. I WOULD say how can they think we wouldn't notice, but knowing how short the human memory is, I guess the next generation just is used to it and the company gets away with it.
Col. Angus I'm glad you told us that about TacoBell. I was getting ready to complain to the local manager that my neighborhood Taco Bell workers are a bunch of lazy bitches who can't be bothered to make decent tacos, etc., like they did in the past. Now I know they are just doing their best with what they have to work with. I still enjoy going out for their tacos, just not as much as in the past.
Listen, we didn't come for your advertisements, Burnt. Go somewhere else where people will appreciate your bullshit while we have a civil discussion of how food places have declined in value and quality.
I used to enjoy Hostess fruit pies in the 70’s; now they look and taste like crap! Cereal boxes always had great toys in them in the 70’s, now they all want you to scan a code! WTH-that’s neither fun or exciting.
@@rx4pain the creme eggs one is just a load of bull, how tf does it taste cheap when that same mix is literally used in all sorts of chocolate bars. so whats wrong with a company that makes baking chocolates to a candy bare maker. i dont see anything cheap about it. i mean they make so many things and creme eggs are meant for easter
Yea then they want you to sign up so they can spam your e-mail/phone. Heck we won a free whopper from Burgerking the other day with one of those games you get off the french fry carton. Went to redeem it and they couldn't take it because you have to download their app, register, and then scan it. I just threw it in the trash.
Gushers also changed, and I loved them. They’ve also changed from paper foil to plastic packaging, which is just weird. They’re clearly not reading the way the world is going. Most people these days want less plastic packaging, not more of it, and people don’t want products that they already like to change.
Yeah and watch out when you buy your favorite item and it says "New Look Same Great Taste." That means they've changed everything, from portion, to quality, to taste. Which means, you're pretty much screwed.
Oh God Nutella, when you smelled it, it used to smell of hazelnuts, it tasted of hazelnuts. Ovo (Ovomaltine) used to be a malted drink. Then they changed it to a generic chocolate taste. Imagine how delicious Coke would taste if made with real raw sugar. CHEETOS or Chipitos The small corn based cheese flavored bites. From one day to the next I reckon they removed corn and replaced it with dry stuff. Different structure, different taste. My favorite snack, butchered and dead.
Ritz and Townhouse crackers used to have significant amounts of malted barley flour, which gave them that incredible buttery flavor. Both products over time cut back the amounts of this ingredient until today, where there is none. Someone needs to publicize this.
Craig Colby well Craig, ex boyfriends used to come back to me saying they couldn't resist the incredibly sexy perfume I was wearing and people around me in restaurants etc, would say what's that amazing smell, it smells like I'd imagine faeries to smell like. I'd offer them a wrist and they'd say, yes that's it! I'm not being vane, I was actually very insecure back then so it gave me a needed boost of self esteem. My husband LOVES it but different perfumes smell different on different people lol and maybe the people you smelled it on were unwashed and using it to hide body odour 😂 I'm not one of those hairy armpit, newage types and I've always believed in using just a tiny bit of oil. I can't stand it when women or men douse themselves in tons of perfumes/aftershaves...yuck
The one that hurt me. Hersheys Instant chocolate milk mix was changed in the early 80's and my childhood ended. I still miss it at 47ys old. All to save a buck. 😢
I remember the Cadbury Creme Egg filling having a much creamier texture back in late 70s and early 80s. These days it's more like a sugary paste than a creme filling.
Same. We have it year round in the UK and I know for a fact that they've changed the creme filling. Also the size of the eggs, they're more like robin's eggs now. >:/
It tastes like it's full of dirt and wood fibre.....because it is. At least in those countries with lax food laws like the US. It still tastes like dishwater in Australia and our food regulations are strict. I've had some frome Europe as well and I have to say it wasn't as bad, still awful but you could get away with it at a trailer park brunch.
It's Hershey's fault. They replaced much of the cocoa butter with this crap called PGPR, which is cheaper (surprise!). But it ruined the texture of the chocolate. Hershey bars are now waxy and lack flavor. Since Hershey is the US licensee for Kit Kat, they also wrecked that recipe with it. Kit Kats made in other countries are far superior. Hershey makes Reese's as well and ruined the chocolate they use on their entire product line. It's all about money. PGPR is a cheap chemical. Cocoa butter costs more. Nobody cares if the products suck now. They don't care.
LS I made my own peanut butter cups last week. They are wayyyy better than Reese's. I just mixed peanut butter, crushed Graham crackers, brown and white sugars, pinch of salt, tsp vanilla extract. Rolled that dough into balls and smooshed into the center of some ultra-mini muffin liners filled with melted chocolate. I mixed semisweet and dark. Top with 2-3 chunks of Himalayan pink salt. Refrigerate til firm. Keeps in the fridge or at room temp for a week. If you end up with too much of the dough, just freeze it and thaw for the next batch. 🍫
Note: my taste buds are super sensitive, i think splenda is disgusting, some people don't seem to notice. idk they changed Lipton Iced Tea some years back.. I used to drink a liter bottle every day (i thought it was healthy at the time lol) and yeah, they changed the design on their bottle and everything.. i remember trying it and double-checking to make sure i didn't accidentally grab a diet version.. it tastes like splenda now... and when i compared nutrition labels i remember the sodium content was super different (although i didnt pay attention to the ingredients list..) also when Sierra Mist rebranded they went from no high fructose corn syrup to Mist Twist, which did have it. I know Sierra Mist probably contained other crappy sugars, but i could taste how much sweeter Mist Twist was.
@@trixynotaho2975 The classic super taster food is cilantro. Most people think it adds a light, green, zing to mexican dishes. Super tasters, however, describe it as soapy, bitter, or dirt. Was many years before research would back me up on my aversion to certain pico de gaio.
@5:12 Mark Rutte gets interviewed about coffee? 😂😂 He's prime minister of The Netherlands for about 6 years now. Nestlé is Swiss, so he's got nothing to do with it...
@@johneymute True, and a lot of other politicians aren't very popular either (Trump, May) but what does that have to do with nescafe? The idiots who made this video fucked up. Being a hated politician doesn't mean you work for Nestle.
Plastic leaves a taste in my opinion, and glass is always better. Here in Europe there was a big difference in Fanta taste, the one from Spain was totally different than the Dutch one.
I noticed most of those changed. Your taste buds do not lie!! Cereals have changed, less sugar even when not mentioned and Cream of Wheat. The texture of Cream of Wheat is off somehow.
Good not for those who like it but if I here one more time someone who cant eat it any longer say how much they miss it I AM GONNA SCREAM. WIll be sharing this with them which should satisfy their longing for it now. Thanks
I personally like less sugar. It may taste different but that's because we're so use to eating stuff that's overly sugared. So many things I thought had to much sugar.
Isn't that a sinus issue? You taste more when you can breath and smell what you are eating as well. Perhaps brush your tongue with a toothbrush to clean it more too. Eating more slowly, chewing more, smelling your food, savoring your food or drink gives more pleasure than woofing it down. Watch how experts taste test wine, swirling it in the half glass, smelling it, swishing it a bit around the palate, etc.
Creme has magic/super E so the first E becomes long, as in it says it's name E. The second is silent. There is a great phonics cartoon explaining magic/super E. Cadbury 'Cream' Egg, not cremm
Kraft Dinner... Noodles are smaller and the powder mix is nowhere near as good as before. Gotta add extra butter and cheese. Might as well just make mac and cheese from scratch.
Butterfinger has definitely changed...years ago it had a nice flaky texture, now it has a hard candy texture. If this situation is to be changed...stop buying these crappy products; only then will it change. I think Nestle brand, is the culprit for these changes...
Hi Melissa, that is a pretty name. It means "honey bee" in Greek. Most of the female names that have "ss" in them were popular for births in the 70's and 80's and most originate from Greek.
Yes. I love my name. I know many people hate their name, but I love mine. I research names as well, I'm a writer but I've a particular obsession with names. Especially when I found out I was almost as Samantha. My dad wanted a girl he could nickname Sam. But my mother changed her mind as they were filling out the birth certificate. I was born in the 80's but my mother fell in love with the name Melissa when she herself was a small child when she heard a woman calling a girl by the name.
Oh yeah, why is the name Samantha so popular with millennials? Those born 1980 and up. Also, the names Ashley, Brittany, Megan, Lindsey, Jessica, Taylor, etc. Is there a reason those names became so popular with the younger generation? And Linda, Diane, Kathy, etc. are considered old fashioned now?
In Brazil they do that always, but here they also launch a product with very high quality, when we get used to it, they lower the standards, so for example, Close Up dental toothpaste was very strong and we would feel it almost burn our mouths, now you brush your teeth with it, and your mouth still reeks of onion.
the made their Chunky Beef soup much runnier now, and my old favorite, Tomatoe rice, tastes like some foul chemical is in it. I can't stand it anymore.
They reduced the salt content, or substituted sea salt. Some canned tuna also did this. Probably trying to stave off future class action suits, from producing uber-salty product for so many years, which contributed to hypertension in so many consumers. Probably trying to be proactive; took a cue from the backlash that hit cigarette producers after their product was proved unhealthy.
I've also noticed that it's a lot cheaper than it used to be. It used to be barely under $3/can, now I can frequently find them for $1.99 for vegetable varieties and 2/$5 for the rest. I don't even bother buying Campbells anymore, other than for nostalgia soups such as tomato, chicken noodle, and cream of chicken/mushroom (for cooking green bean casserole, of course.)
I noticed the nutela change and stopped being able to eat it. Thought I was getting more sensitive to sugar, turns out they just made it to sweet to eat. Also some of these changes are improvements :o Like reducing additives in food without changing flavour is just healthier and reducing sugar is the same, so long as you don't replace them with other sweeteners.
I haven't seen snapple in like 15 years and then suddenly boom! I saw someone drinking one last week. I was like. "Holy crap is that a Snapple?!" I guess they came back? I'm 100% certain it's not the same formula.
There are different species of coffee plants each with subtle differences in flavor. What you buy is a formulated blend of beans from different species.
TheIdiotChallenge Agree to disagree. I think there's a reason why I would buy, say, Starbucks over off-brand coffee, and it is because there's a special formula that gives it its taste.
on the jars here, it used to say "100% soluble solids of pure coffee", and now, the "100%", and "soluble" are missing. Nescafe was okay until the late 90s. Now, it's terrible, and they went upmarket with lots of variations and 'pods', and other machinery, and it's all crap.
Same. Totally gross and wierd. It even felt like the cookie was heating up in my mouth, as though there was some kind of chemical reaction. Totally sucks.
I cant touch the stuff even to this day...My mom bought it so much when we were growing up I hate it now...can still taste the stuff when I think about it too...😩
You left out Reese's Peanut-Butter Cups. When I was a kid those things were so good they were addictive, but somewhere in either the late 80's or early 90's, I noticed that the peanut butter started tasting a little chalkier, and they have never been the same since.
I kind of think that with foods like chocolate bars, there really isn’t any point in them changing them to be ‘more healthy’. If you eat a chocolate bar, you shouldn’t guilt yourself into thinking that now they are ‘more healthy’ cause they r still really bad for you. We should just get the full flavour even if it does have more sugar.
The problem with chocolate companies adding more sugar is that it's never an improvement in flavour, though. A lot of the less healthy (and less costly) ingredients such as corn syrup, added milk powder, and just plain sugar take away from the rich flavour that makes chocolate worth eating to begin with. I don't even bother with most sweets anymore.
The video maker left off one of my all time " I'm not buying this crap " products. ......I'm talking about Count Chokula, Frankenberry and Boo Berry cereal. If you ate these cereals in the 70s and 80s you know what I'm talking about ........ you know , back in the day when the marshmallow's didn't dissipate in the milk . I don't know how many times they changed the formula , but they kept making it worse and worse . Count Chokula, Frankenberry, Boo Berry was a decent cereal in the 1900s , but since 2000 I haven't been able to eat the junk . The last bowl I ate the marshmallow's disappear as quick as you pour milk on it . Captain Crunch Peanutbutter cereal is another example of a good cereal that Quaker ruined by changing to a cheaper formula . If a product says " new and improved " you can rest assured that they really mean " we found a cheaper way to make our product, lets see if we can get away with it . I haven't bought Boo Berry in 10 years now , its a shame because Boo Berry was the bomb in the 1900s
I don't know what year, but Marshmallows used to have real Mallow in them, from the plant. Now they have something man-made as a substitute. Mallow can settle the stomach and adds a certain Marshmallow flavor. I don't eat these man-made cereals anymore. Good when a kid, not the same now. Instead I have found something new. I like Porridge. I found if you add a wee bit of Irish Whiskey to it, as you can find done in Ireland, you have something that man has not spoilt.
They were my favorite cereals before they started changing them, but I think they are terrible today...The main thing that killed it for me was when the regular cereal bits changed, they went from more "solid" pieces to being puffed sometime mid 90's, and at that point the taste also changed. And yes, the marshmallows used to get much less soggy (like a lucky charms marshmallow still does) but now they are melty. I try a box every year or so of the monster cereals, only to be dissapointed.
I just care about Nutella and of course they did that. I break out in acne when I eat it now-before I didn't. Silly. I just won't buy it again. What a smart way to KEEP customers. 2019
gingergreek Hershey>>>Europe In all seriousness tho i thought i had just grown up n tasted Cadburry different theyre flavor or richness isn't even close.
LOL Hershey the ashtray of the choc world. It's all changed. Choc don't taste as good as it once did. Even the expenisve stuff. All the sugar tax did in the UK was force companies to reduce sugar... technically a good thing but I'm not eating these for good health lol
lone wanderer Cadbury milk chocolate has always contained vegetable fats. That hasn't changed in the UK. Surprisingly, Cadbury sold in the US can only contain cocoa butter.
Somebody may have already mentioned this but I think Oreo changed the formula a few months ago. Might have been a fluke but a couple different tries to enjoy an Oreo have been upsetting. Seems like something was changed.
That’s why they started flooding the market with all kinds of crazy flavored Oreos. They hope after you try a few- you won’t be so familiar with their ‘original’ taste.
Check the difference between the ones that are made in Mexico vs US. I cannot eat these cookies anymore. I find that the crap knock offs at the 99 Cent store are better.
NetRolller3D no, it's not. The word comes from the non-english "é". Which is pronounced "ay". Also Nestlé has confirmed that the é they're using is not an english pronounciation.
Monochrome Sims we got Mcdonalds ice cream in pampanga and is tasty, the fries is extra crispy juicy, wish to be big enough but the Mac is like 5 stars. (Cause we have been trained as iron cooks)
McDonalds does not see ice cream. Soft-serve is either a powder like instant pudding or it's a refrigerated premix that comes in gallon jugs that they pour in a mixing/freezing/serving machine. Ice cream is made from... the cream produced by cattle.
Swissmiss hot chocolate changed. I noticed it didn't taste as good, so I looked it up and found they tried to decrease the sugar while adding a sugar substitute. It also gave me stomach cramps.
Definitely not the only one. I bought my first box of it in a few years a little while back, mixed up 3 packets in a ~20oz glass like I always used to do... Next several hours were the worst ever.
I remember when Swissmiss used to be the swanky fancy hot chocolate....now it's bottom shelf brand. It's Hot Chocolate, it's gonna have sugar...the people drinking it know this...stop cutting the sugar!
Don’t forget little Debbie I remember when zebra cakes used to taste amazing then after 2010 all the sudden it tasted like fake chocolateI hate it and was there a go back to the original recipe
I've never heard it pronounced "krem egg" before, even though I realize its spelled 'creme', I think everybody (even the company) pronounce it as "cream". I don't know why I'm irrationally upset at this.
It is called a cream egg. In the commercials they will say "Cadbury Cream eggs". But you know what? Rihanna even started pronouncing her own name different because all of us do. It's supposed to be pronounced Re-Anna but instead people say Re-awna, so maybe it's something like that where we all changed the name over time.
In order to notice the McDonalds ice cream tasting different, you'd have to find a McDonalds where the employees weren't lazy as... er um, I mean where the ice cream machine wasn't "broken".
tpaairman u will be surprised though if u ask them well when will it be working? Say it's my son's b-day and his dad is in Iraq. Lol also try saying well I'm gonna wait, what time is the fixer coming. I have gotten gift cards and free other items. It really does get old. I hate them lying most if all. Just say hey, Becky called in, I'm sorry. No I've cream. But don't tell me nine out of ten times the machine is broke.
It’s chemical shit storm. Feel lucky it’s always broken! I’ve worked with those machines for over 20 years and can’t touch that stuff. Not that the rest of McDonald’s is better.
Gecko Gremlin Well if you look at the old cornflakes and new box of cornflakes look at what it's mixed with now back when my sister was little they never add extra sugar with the cornflakes it use to be just plain cornflakes which my sister liked and also corn chex.it also not the same either.
Bet it's because of the GMO's. All of the grains are GMO's now, and none of it has to be labeled as such. Check out heritage or heirloom seed on the net. The old grains are better for everything, at least taste wise, they are. I'm about to start a small homestead just because of the difference. It is cheaper to buy from a supermarket, unless you try to buy something of quality from a small producer, then it gets expensive. For instance, a REAL virginia sugar cured smoked ham is about $100 and takes about a year to make. It doesn't spoil if not refrigerated. Same for the cheeze.
tom Dobyns Heirloom tomatoes are bigger and tastier and the skin is thinner and man they are worth on buying to plant if you have space and a place to put a garden..
oh man I MISS classic Ding Dongs! And Little Debby's done it too, with their weird uh... zebra cakes? I noticed the frosting now has a powdery texture that makes my mouth taste dry.
*Bread isn't the same anymore. About 3 years ago, I over-bought a few packages of old-fashioned potato hamburg and hotdog buns, and forgot about them. Two months later, I found them in the back of the bread box, and they looked as fresh as the day I purchased them! What in blazes are they putting into them...formaldehyde??!!*
My husband bought some Pillsbury cinnamon rolls so I made them for him. Several days later he hadnt really been eating them because I had homemade desserts made. A few more days passed and they still looked brand new so I decided to put them in a small cake dish to see how long it took for them to mold or change. A year later they looked the exact same, they were dry but still looked the same as when I made them. I figured theyd never change so finally just threw them out.
*Ohhhhh Lil, isn't that just gross?! What are these companies using for preservatives?! It's no small wonder why people are being diagnosed with all kinds of illnesses clear on down to 'cancer!'* *I remember what REAL food tasted like back in the 1950's; today's foods cannot compare...not even close! Give me the good old days...anytime!*
I agree. People as well as animals/pets are being diagnosed with cancer and auto immune diseases at an alarming rate. I grow my own fruit and vegetables which helps a lot but you have to wonder f the stuff they say is gmo free or organic actually is. Our water is terrible. Just turning on the spigot I can smell metals and chlorine (I use bottled for cooking & drinking). My husband bought a cucumber from the store and taste tested theirs and then one from my garden and he couldnt believe the difference. Now he wont eat them unless theyre in season and from my garden.
Pre made Hawaiian Punch has always been disgusting to me. I liked it when it was concentrated and you added it to water. The pre made stuff burns the back of my throat.
Kaal_do_Olaak I'm 31 right now, i literally only remember them as nutty buddies, but I'm also aware it's possible I'm changing the name in my memories too
due to the sugar tax in norway we dont get new soda flavors without them all being sugar free. the sweetners had a bad after taste and you have a bigger chance of getting diabetes type 2 than if you just drank the normal sugar version
Tahitian Treat soda and Hawaiian Punch fruit drink. Tastykake, Peanut Chews, Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Oooh and ice cream in general. How come ice cream doesn't actually get hard in the freezer anymore. OMGNESS!! I remember when you had to leave the ice cream out on the counter for a little to get frozen ice cream to soften up. Now it's soft serve straight out the freezer. It's so annoying! Also, Soft baked cookies(any brand but especially Chips Ahoy) in the cookie aisle just taste like chemicals to me. I just don't even try anymore. It's like people don't even taste it because they have done it slowly over time. But if you stopped eating it and then went back and tried one years later .... Awful😖😖😖😖😖😖🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
YASSS! You are so right! All the name-brand mainstream cookies commonly found in the US taste super-nasty to me. Whatever they put into so-called "soft baked" cookies to keep them soft is just unnatural and wrong. Actual homemade soft-baked cookies are soft because they are fresh out of the oven, not saturated with some wonder chemical that keeps them soft for a year. It is natural for cookies and bread products to get harder as they age.
You are so right about the soft cookies. I love soft chocolate chip cookies. So now, I only buy the freshly baked in my grocery store. I live in Texas where we have HEB (grocery store) so the price is reasonable and tastes far better than the chemical soft choc chip cookies.
I was a Huge Starburst fan I ate them often in the 80's But then something happened, they got rid of the lime and replaced it with that horrible artificial tasting cherry and now they have a rubbery aftertaste, trust me if you had Starburst early on then you know there is a big difference in the taste and texture.

@@harleyquinn7373 Considering they brought the shapes back recently, no though that was a fun theory. They taste the way they used to again as well, more or less.
@@briansammond7801 Based on the research I can find, they changed to shapes in 1991 to better distinguish from some other fruit flavored, spherical cereal then back to spheres in 2007. Side note: I had no idea they were originally spheres since I'd personally only ever seen them with the fruit shape design until 2007, so that was super cool to learn.
None of the mass market candy bars (Hershey's plain, butterfinger, Snickers, Twix) taste the same anymore since all the big American chocolate companies got cheap and started taking chocolate and real sugar out of their products.
Aha! I knew et! It wasn't just me! :v It's been tasting kinda weird and different to me for quite a while now(around maybe 3 years?), gosh I thought it was me💀...still good but too sweet for me they should just remove the colorant and the sugar and leave the pure chocolate and hazelnut 😍
Dasuri Torres They took the Pure Cane Sugar out of it and put High Frutose Corn Syrup in it. Companies started putting H F C Syrup in food back in the early 90's. That is when people started to Balloon Up. When i grew up, we drank soda pop, chocolate milk, etc. that was made with Pure Cane Sugar and just about everyone was slim or average weight.
I used to buy Nutella years ago. I don't care for it anymore. I never knew they changed it until now. Maybe that's why I don't care about it anymore. Idk.
Although I like the idea of using less sugar, I don't think it's any healthier to use alternatives such as high fructose corn syrup and artificial sweeteners
McDonald's ruin3d 5hier fish sandwiches too. The perfect target sauce and moist fish patty is now just pickles and mayo, a dry tough fish with no flavor and way too small for the price. Just so disappointing!!
Michael Leary McDonald's has ruined all of their "food". At Christmas they come out with the McRib. The last one I ordered, approximately 5 years ago, was horrible. I complained about it on their website, and they sent me free food vouchers. That was the best meal I've ever eaten at a McDonald's EVER. I then complained about why they couldn't ALWAYS prepare the food like that. Oh, and I have eaten there since
Believer John Seventeen, I CONCUR! if you open up a jar of Nutella you see that it has a layer of oil just sitting on top of the actual spread. It never used to do that b4. It's like it's trying to compete with peanut butter or something with that oily stunt of greasiness! IDK
I had to go through 9 items, to get to Nutella. I knew it! I have stopped buying nutella for a few years, just few months ago, decided to get the huge jar. It taste weird, and definitely less nuttier.
Oh my god yes, Trix tastes like perfume soaked bits of cardboard now. I have no clue how they still manage to sell boxes of that stuff. Also, why would they stop making the shapes, the cool shapes were almost as satisfying as the actual flavor, both of which are gone now.
Why don't companies just raise the price of their product rather than using lower quality ingredients? And let the consumer decide if they want pay extra?I think the secret agenda of companies is get younger people used to their low quality products. While the old fans are slowly replaced.
In a lot of cases if they came to the consumer and said we are about to lose the company and the product you enjoy (ie twinkies) would you be willing to pay a bit more or perhaps lose them altogether or let them be ravaged by another company? Or in the case of a clear and obvious change for the worse (ie subway, fanta, nutella, etc) health-wise where it is all about money but the company is doing pretty damn good. They can offer a price hike with FULL DISCLOSURE BEFOREHAND, and/or offer special "classic recipe" promos during the year where people can indulge in buying out the kind they love! I could almost live with that!
Star cab because then there would be a chandde that they lose some customers, and no guarantee that theyd make the amount they do now. Theyd rather poison 10million people than risk making $10 less per year
Nutella was PERFECT before the change. Now it's all cheap tasting sugar and very little chocolate.

Is THAT what happened to the eggs, ugh
Cadbury's was once one of the best tasting chocolates out there but as soon as Kraft took over the taste got worse and worse now it taste like a cheap, over sweet horrible tasting chocolate. I no longer buy cadbury chocolates.
I had noticed Cadbury chocolate doesn't taste as good anymore. It's just not melt in your mouth amazeballs anymore 😳

It's amazing how you pronounced nearly every brand name incorrectly.

Anyone else notice how the Burger King Whopper meat patties are getting so thin, you can nearly shave with them? They should rename it the Whimper ( of its former size ).
Soviet II yes same for McDonald’s it’s pathetic
different flavor to
I worked for Burger King in it's early days. Lol
Ive noticed over the years how the price of a whopper is getting higher and its getting thinner, and it taste like ass now.. they used to be soo good
So has Wendy's!!! I had a craving for one a while back and had to order a triple just to find the beef! Me! A triple!!
I knew I wasn’t going crazy when I tasted some of these items....finally I can show hard evidence. Thank you for this video.
I love these videos too, but to reference them as “hard evidence” is in fact hard evidence of everything wrong with the world today.
Malto Meal brand raisin bran is actually better quality
Which brand of Raisin Bran are you referring to. Kellogg's, Post, or General Mills??
I don't know what ingredient or manufacturing change did it, but I remember when Coca-Cola would burn your throat. A nice burn. lol. Now, that's gone.
rafsandiego I had one when I was in London early this year and it still had that burn. It tastes so much better over there than in the US. I’ve never been a Coca Cola lover (Pepsi is the shit) but if they tasted like over there I would def start drinking Coke.
yep, and had that scary burp....that made you feel like your throat would burn....
I remember that too, and at some point it started tasting like lime. I hate coke though. Pepsi all the way or nothing lol.
artificial flavorings came about when they had to change Root Beer's flavoring. people were becoming allergic to it, so they banned it for a while. but when other soda companies saw how much cheaper artificial flavoring was, they all changed their tunes too.
You guys: Coke Zero is the way to go! You get the burn and the high.😆
Things are secretly getting smaller too.
Just like the word "things." (Sorry... I had to)
KT Reznin haha i didn’t notice, changed it for you
Yea it happened with MnMs too now the packs are 180g and before they were 200g same with the bigger packs
Yup look at McDonalds.
Never realised Nutella changed there ingredients. I use to love Nutella. Then one day did not taste right. Stopped using it.
Lol i used to eat so many of these things and yes its all true. The taste for these things is pure garbage now. Its funny though because i dont care at all, i stopped eating unhealthy and feel so much better phsycially, mentally and emotionally.
I agree, and while it is nice to see a few brands taking out some sugar replacing it with artificial sweeteners is no better
yeah true. if only healthy snacks existed. And there are some, and many of them taste good too!!
Sad that this generation won't ever know what the real Taco Bell used to taste like, as the modern Taco Hell tastes and looks like dog food and people lap that shit up. lol
The cinnamon crisps, that off menu item you want all the time but never receive.

Yeah and watch out when you buy your favorite item and it says "New Look Same Great Taste." That means they've changed everything, from portion, to quality, to taste. Which means, you're pretty much screwed.
Sometimes that just means a logo change or a rebranding. So don't get worked up unless the company has a history of doing shit like that.
Oh God Nutella, when you smelled it, it used to smell of hazelnuts, it tasted of hazelnuts.

Pretty much almost all chocolate has changed in the US. When I was a kid the taste and consistency was more like European chocolate.
Cristian Reyes Can't tell the differences.
You can thank Hersey Co. for that.

When he said "Faunta" I went to my friends and was like "This guy just said Faunta. Like, what the frick is FAUNTA?"
Lol
Lmaoo i love the idea of you getting up and then walking to your friends house just to say "This guy said Faunta"
In Brazil they do that always, but here they also launch a product with very high quality, when we get used to it, they lower the standards, so for example, Close Up dental toothpaste was very strong and we would feel it almost burn our mouths, now you brush your teeth with it, and your mouth still reeks of onion.
Probably took the alcohol out of it, like they should do for Aim.
Yes of coures😍. But toothpaste is mostly sugar. They don't tell you that in a commercial.
Campbell's soups and Progresso Soups taste terrible now. You have to make your own chicken noodle soup if you get sick.
28105wsking yeah figured that out a few years ago they all taste like plain water now
Like salt water now. Smh. So sad!☹️
the made their Chunky Beef soup much runnier now, and my old favorite, Tomatoe rice, tastes like some foul chemical is in it.

There are different species of coffee plants each with subtle differences in flavor. What you buy is a formulated blend of beans from different species.
nescafe is not coffee, is shit!

Yes! Yes, they did. Bought some for the first time in many years and was like "What is WRONG with these?"
Same. Totally gross and wierd. It even felt like the cookie was heating up in my mouth, as though there was some kind of chemical reaction. Totally sucks.
Agreed...now they taste like cr@p and are made in Mexico! I haven't had an Oreo in ages, YUCK!!!😝😝😝
Oh yes they did! But what?🤔
They even messed up Hawaiian Punch 😥 You know the one with the little guy surfing
Shawntiqua Harris Yeah, how it tastes crappy. I mess my childhood.

Gotta get a fresh one
I managed not to notice. Or maybe I just thought it was my perception. I mostly noticed that *King Size* is tiny - and more sizes like "sharing"!!
Try the Reese's Christmas Trees during the holidays. I don't know how they differ but they are outstanding. Reminds me of Reeses back in the 70s
I hardly ever buy reeves cups anymore. They're totally tastes.
M&M has changed their chocolate as well.... not a happy girl... tastes like cheap bakery cacao.
I don't even bother with most sweets anymore.
songpoetry1 yeah ur right they defiantly need to decrease the amount of sugar
I used to love eating 100 grand bars when I was a kid, now they're too sugary and hurt my teeth
Chocolate isn't food.
Chocolate is a drug, 100% chocolate can make you high if you eat enough of it.
What are rose-tinted glasses? How accurately do you think you genuinely remember the flavor of something you haven't eaten in over a decade?
In the 1900's? Jesus Christ how old are you? jk
@@hotcrazycatladyme168 exactly! lol
Does anyone’s Nutella have little chunks in it that taste terrible?
Science and medicine haven't proven that food causes or exacerbates acne
@@forgetfulicekin222 ew yes, that happened to me. I haven't bought any ever since.
Spot on dude, sonce Kraft bought Cadbury the quality has dipped massively. Fucking tastes like cheap ass American chocolate almost
gingergreek
Hershey>>>Europe
In all seriousness tho i thought i had just grown up n tasted Cadburry different theyre flavor or richness isn't even close.
LOL Hershey the ashtray of the choc world. It's all changed. Choc don't taste as good as it once did. Even the expenisve stuff. All the sugar tax did in the UK was force companies to reduce sugar... technically a good thing but I'm not eating these for good health lol
It's because RJ Reynolds Tobacco owns Kraft now, so they are changing the ingredients to find more ways to profit from the least healthy chemicals.
Vincent Salamatino not all American chocolate is cheap, but I still agree.
lone wanderer
Cadbury milk chocolate has always contained vegetable fats. That hasn't changed in the UK. Surprisingly, Cadbury sold in the US can only contain cocoa butter.
The way you say fanta really pisses me off. Also, I went to Germany and the fanta there was very orange and beautiful
Yeah, in Germany we still have the good Fanta
Somebody may have already mentioned this but I think Oreo changed the formula a few months ago. Might have been a fluke but a couple different tries to enjoy an Oreo have been upsetting. Seems like something was changed.
I don't know how long ago, but they went full vegan. Not a trace of milk in the cream
Full vegan Oreos... Yech! Goodbye Oreos of yesteryear. You will be missed :(
That’s why they started flooding the market with all kinds of crazy flavored Oreos. They hope after you try a few- you won’t be so familiar with their ‘original’ taste.
Soon as they switched nutella I knew and stopped buying it.
When did they switch nutella flavor
@@filipjankoski421 awhile ago but it might matter where you live
noticed no change as I consume none of them. Gave them up years ago. :) :) :) :) :) :)
There is something wrong with Oreos now. I swear the formula has changed.

It tastes like diarrhea now
Yes!!!!!!!!
They removed hydrogenated oil or something like that. Trans fats were demonized and they had to remove them.
Check the difference between the ones that are made in Mexico vs US. I cannot eat these cookies anymore. I find that the crap knock offs at the 99 Cent store are better.
Why is he pronouncing everything wrong? Nestlé he pronounced as if it was an english word, and *"CREM"* EGGS?
IT'S
PRONOUNCED
CREAM
Also...
*FONTA???*
Space Core He also mispronounced Nestlé. It's Nestler, not Nestlay.
NetRolller3D no, it's not. The word comes from the non-english "é". Which is pronounced "ay". Also Nestlé has confirmed that the é they're using is not an english pronounciation.
+NetRolller3D it IS actually Nestlay. Same as how you pronounce "creme brulee" - it's not "broolee" but "broolay".This é makes the tone go up.
Space Core ù uhh vvv
I mean, even though I do say "Cadbury cream egg", "crem" is actually correct because it's the French spelling and therefore pronunciation.

McDonalds sells ice-cream?
Then why is the machine always broken
Monochrome Sims we got Mcdonalds ice cream in pampanga and is tasty, the fries is extra crispy juicy, wish to be big enough but the Mac is like 5 stars.
(Cause we have been trained as iron cooks)
Its not broken, no one wants to clean it.
No that's with the milkshake
They don’t want to have to clean it it’s not really broken
That's some American stuff. Doesn't exist in Switzerland.
I remember when Swissmiss used to be the swanky fancy hot chocolate....now it's bottom shelf brand.
It's Hot Chocolate, it's gonna have sugar...the people drinking it know this...stop cutting the sugar!

I've never heard it pronounced "krem egg" before, even though I realize its spelled 'creme', I think everybody (even the company) pronounce it as "cream". I don't know why I'm irrationally upset at this.
That's annoying right?
Well creme is actually pronounced krem Ö_Ö ? If you go to the original word and not the americanized version
@@glasperle77 This is correct.
Just look at Creme de menthe. How is that pronounced?
It is called a cream egg. In the commercials they will say "Cadbury Cream eggs". But you know what? Rihanna even started pronouncing her own name different because all of us do. It's supposed to be pronounced Re-Anna but instead people say Re-awna, so maybe it's something like that where we all changed the name over time.
Michael Godin This guy mispronounced about a dozen words or more.
+Zafeera Z it is but then it is cheap.

Cornflakes... I miss my cornflakes...
They dont taste anymore...
Gecko Gremlin I know it sucks
oh, they taste, but like cockroach wings. . I find several No-Name brands of corn flakes taste the best!
The Hostess chocolate ding dongs, aren't the same either. The chocolate coating use to be firmer-thicker. I use to love those things.

They recently changed Froot Loops and the flavor is weaker, the color isn’t even the same anymore
GMO's. Its the main reason so many things have changed in taste as well.
Same! Bread lasts far too long now. Freaky long. Eww...
It's no small wonder why people are being diagnosed with all kinds of illnesses clear on down to 'cancer!'*

*european struggling to eat a little bit of ice cream because it's too hard.* gosh damn it carl.
its probably the carboxymethylcellulose that keeps the ice cream from hardening :)
You are so right about the soft cookies. I love soft chocolate chip cookies. So now, I only buy the freshly baked in my grocery store. I live in Texas where we have HEB (grocery store) so the price is reasonable and tastes far better than the chemical soft choc chip cookies.
I was a Huge Starburst fan I ate them often in the 80's But then something happened, they got rid of the lime and replaced it with that horrible artificial tasting cherry and now they have a rubbery aftertaste, trust me if you had Starburst early on then you know there is a big difference in the taste and texture.
we still have lime in UK. We never had cherry beofre
In the Uk they used to be called Opal Fruits and they were very nice. Now they have a weird 'plastic' texture!

Why don't companies just raise the price of their product rather than using lower quality ingredients? And let the consumer decide if they want pay extra?I think the secret agenda of companies is get younger people used to their low quality products. While the old fans are slowly replaced.
possibly, also because they also know customers will bitch and moan over raised prices, even if the prices are ever so slightly raised.
Because they do both!
Star cab because then there would be a chandde that they lose some customers, and no guarantee that theyd make the amount they do now. Theyd rather poison 10million people than risk making $10 less per year
People absolutely don't want to pay higher prices, so they have to cheapen the ingredients. Find a way and time to EAT CLEAN!!
