Fun fact: Throughout the fight against gawain, Grandpa Hassan was blocking Gawain's sword with his cloak, pushing back the Sun Knight as if he were a rag doll even with the sun at its peak, simply sublime. It's a pity that they didn't detail it that way in the film.
I wonder if it was intentional or not to have the First Hassan fight Gawain since the First Hassan is almost one to one similar to the green knight. Both are almost like forces of nature that outclass and humble Gawain who go for decapitations.
Oh I thought he threw the cloak above Gawain to block the sun when he blocked, guess I was remembering wrong been a while since I read the 6th singularity
@@Eis_Cold In the game you are given to understand that King hassan can generate that storm without having to remove the cloak, that and even without the storm he continued to use the same cloak to block the Galatine
The little girl from Hundred Faces has no memories and is just an innocent child. There's an interlude in FGO where she gets separated from the others and befriends Jack the Ripper and Nursery Rhyme. The other personas allow her to continue playing with them and keep being a child. In Strange Fake, No Name Assassin immediately bails on her summoner because he is an EVIL guy. She teams up with another Master named Sigma, and even though she's a zealot and he's an atheist, they seem to slowly fall in love, which really pisses off her summoner because he wanted to make her his.
The female personality for Hundred Faces is canonically referred to as Asako, and as shown in their Interlude she was the democratically elected personality to serve as a main representation for all of them due to her being the most socially involved and responsible of the 100. And yes, every single "face" has a limited but diverse variety of skills that may or may not be applicable for assassination, like the previously mention chick sexing being one of them. Idk if this is true, but I think the name "Asako" is pretty funny as it's both a real name, and a portmanteau of "Assassin" and "Ko" (Child/Girl suffix in Japanese). lol
20:49 also if memory serves when we travel to the “Camelot” singularity and meet Cursed Arm I believe he mentions that the point in time when the Camelot singularity takes place was the time when Cursed Arm was actually alive. And a kid who we meet and saved was the child of a woman who knew Cursed Arm before he became a Hassan. And it’s even speculated wildly that the child we saved was his.
IIRC, Nasu has elaborated that Hanam and Salia (the woman in question) were very close, but describes them as being just short of becoming lovers at the point where Hanam left to become Hassan. So Rushd (the child) isn't Hanam's, but he does care greatly for the boy.

so fun fact about Bone Daddy: that is not a skull mask like his successors. that is his actual skull, that he carved his flesh from in order to show his faith. something that you guys kind of skipped over is a lot of his skills, from Battle Continuation to On the Boundary to Protection of the Faith to Natural Body, make note that they are all twisted versions of the normal because he has carved himself up as a show of faith.
I love how the Nasuverse version of him combines multiple elements and transcends the historical founder of the Hashashin/Assassins (a little like Tsiah describes it at the end of the video with the elevation to Grand Assassin): The first Hassan-i-Sabbah, the founder of the Hashashin, Maalik (closely related to the Arabian term malik for king, thus 'King Hassan") the angle that administers the hell's fire, served by the 19 Zabaniyya (interpreted as angels or demons in older lore), and Azael the Malak al mout (ملاك الموت) "angle of death". All this taken together makes him so much more than "just" the historic Hassan-i-Sabbah, as this version absorbed so many concepts of "Death" from the Middle East. The comments on Nitocris and Ereshkigal by the first Hassan were made as foreshadowing for LB 7 it seems. 1:11:58 I think given the pale outfit with a hood and flowing shapes it is likely a take on the Assassin's Creed Assassin designs. The continuation of the Asāsīyūn (أساسيون, meaning "people who are faithful to the foundation [of the faith]") after the (initial) successful Mongol siege of Alamut is historic. After 1256 (when Rukn al-Din Khurshah turned himself in to Helugu Khan, brother of the Great Khan Möngke, and was forced to issue an order to stand down that first multiple smaller fortresses and then Alamut followed) it was recaptured by Nizari Ismaili forces in 1275. Al-Kahf in Syria fell in 1273. The last remains of a Nizari Ismali government around Alamut fell in 1282 under another Mongol onslaught. However, both in Syira and Persia Nizari Ismaili groups persisted and sometimes still used assassinations for their goals Ibn Batuta and the Dominican friar Brochard report of assassinations carried out by Nizari Ismailis in the early 14th century in Syria and in Persia the last political entity governed by Nizari Ismailis fell to Mongols in 1307, but Ismaili local governance remained after that in some regions. There also is disputed evidence for another recapture of Alamut in the 14th century. Even in the 16th century there reports of self governing Ismailis in the region. (See also Virani, S. N. (2003). Discussion about the card arts a couple of years ago actually revealed that the Assassin card art is supposed to be based on the Grim Reaper, but carrying daggers instead of a scythe to better fit the assassin archetype. The iconic "cursed arm" is noted to possibly be literally Shaytan's arm, or perhaps the arm of a demon that merely plays at being Shaytan (IIRC, Nasu keeps it intentionally ambiguous out of concern that there might be practitioners of the Islamic faith who might take offense to Cursed Arm's character concept). It's supposed to be "Zayd the Base" - "Based" seems to just be a bit of mild wiki vandalism that hasn't been corrected yet. Also, in that group-shot on the wiki page, Zayd was the one at the front next to Asako. When asked, Asako gets evasive on the subject of what her specialty was. It's possible that hers is supposed to be "temptress" among the set, but it's not confirmed. Zayd is presumably the "Normal" among the set, and "Oblivion" probably refers to the Little Girl Hassan personality, who explicitly exists to 'not know anything', so Hassan could flip to that persona and come off as entirely unaware of any information if they were to ever be interrogated. As NikNak noted, Serenity's sweat is toxic too - one of her tactics involves finding a place upwind of the enemy camp, and dancing vigorously so she sweats, the toxic sweat evaporates on the breeze, and the winds carry the poison all through the enemy encampment. Tying in with Serenity's emotional issues, her tactic for assassination in life was regularly presenting herself as a love interest to an enemy's leader, and gradually seducing them even as she refrained from making physical contact... all up until the mark has fallen in love and she gives them one fatal kiss before departing. The problem is, Serenity often started getting emotionally attached by the time the right opportunity came to perform the kill, and doing that repeatedly wore down at her mental state. Serenity's NP animation is always meant to be set so she kisses the enemy's mouth (as best as it can be depicted without a multitude of bespoke sprites), but there was a short time where the animation was bugged specifically against Swimsuit Archer Artoria, where she would kiss Artoria's thighs instead of her mouth. Ghostly Weft's Presence Concealment is insanely potent. As in, *his Master did not even realize the summoning had happened until they saw that Hassan had left a note confirming that his summoning was a success*. In the Babylonia anime, Nega-Genesis is depicted as having the effect of utterly eliminating any Servant who gets caught within its area of influence - only the living can enter safely. The First Hassan, however, has that "At the Boundary" skill that makes him utterly immune to Instant Death effects, including Nega-Genesis. Incidentally, the First Hassan's Battle Continuation notes that even if you disabled his limbs, he will keep on snapping at his enemy. The Babylonia anime takes this literally at one point - he actually gets subdued by powerful enemies, every limb restrained, and he concludes that he still has an answer for this... by which I mean he starts resorting to biting them to death. Neither of you mentioned it, but if you look closely on Merry Sheep, Serenity is accidentally(?) unraveling her own sweater as she's knitting the threads into that stocking she's working on. Hence the underboob in the picture. Asako notes during Valentine's that Ritsuka has acquired the loyalty of every personality that Hundred-Personas possesses, and they're amazed that "even Zayd" has come to like Ritsuka, even though other points have noted that the collective generally think Zayd is kind of a jerk by their standards. Basically, Serenity refuses to 'upload' the memories of manifestations where she found love to the Throne of Heroes, as her sort of way of retaining faithfulness to the one she has fallen in love with. As this happened in Prototype Sky-Blue Fragments, she's the only Servant from that set who has an absolute 0% recollection of anything that happened in that Grail War, or why certain Servants act so familiarly with her.
Ah, I just remembered something amusing with Cursed-Arm. At one point during a summer event, Cursed-Arm is working as security at a convention, and has to deal with Mysterious Heroine XX's armour about to self-destruct in the convention hall. So he grabs the armour and leaps off into the skies, letting it explode high enough that the building is untouched... ... and then Cursed-Arm lands and brushes it off as if it were nothing. Because the shockwave of an explosion is totally just a very intense and sudden burst of wind, right?
Another fun fact: some of the personalities of Hassan of the 100 Faces got their debut in animation in the Capsule Servant minigame that came out with the PS Vita release of Hollow Ataraxia in 2014. In that one getting that Hassan in the games gatcha led to random versions being employed each time it was used in the tower defense gameplay. That did include the Child sometimes appearing.
43:21 serenity has one of those NP that are fun to use in the game to see how it looks to scale with various opponents. For example Quetz’s NP can go from looking very normal to just ridiculous like how you can make her piledrive a demon pillar or a colossal Galaxy containing tree.
51:06 hundred personas out of all the seen Hassan’s was the one who was given the shaft the most. They were summoned to basically job during the fourth holy grail war, taken out of the story early during FGO’s crossover event with Fate zero, was primarily a meat shield both as numbers and sacrifices during the Camelot singularity, have had no major roles in any FGO event unlike Cursed arm (who was the primary Hassan of the Camelot singularity), serenity (who has a role in the current “Waltz in the Moonlight” event in FGO NA), and even the old man founder himself. The worst insult is that when the Camelot singularity was made into a two part movie she was one of three servants cut out from that movie completely.
At least they are the 2nd best Hassan gameplay wise, only Gramps is better and it’s because he’s an SSR while the rest are 3* or below. They outpaces Serenity and Cursed arm by a lot and sees the most use between the three of them, probably the best low star assassin in general.
1:22:38 fun fact about First Hassan: during the Babylonia singularity when he is there and before he reveals himself he went by another name Ziusudra the Babylonia equivalent to Noah leading many to believe that the First Hassan could have been the actual Ziusudra before organizing the Hassan’s. An even crazier idea that I think is just something spoken between fans is the crazy swing for the fences concept that the First Hassan could have been Cain, son of Adam, responsible for the first kill in recorded history forced to walk the earth between life and death.
Should be noted that Serenity has some minor shapeshifting abilities. There's some images from the novel that show she can make herself look like a slightly tan-skinned woman. Also, Gramps can apparently just takeover the bodies of other Hassans if he wants
Another interesting fact about the Order: In LB 6.5 Traum a lot of Servants appear (divided up into three faction fighting a war with 100s on each side. Most of those depicted by the class card inspired art are just "Phantom grade", meaning they are at best people like the actual named Assassin on the list of Assassins of the Asāsīyūn/ Hashshashin known to have carried out assassinations on wikipedia or a knight of the Fianna who is named but not a main protagonist or antagonist, or soldier from the 100 years war mentioned by name in some manuscript who was part of am important operation but not one of the leaders. One of those people we get to know is an Assassin who is a proper Hashshashin who was not one of the 19 Hassans.
Fun fact about first hasan va he is in almost every nasuverse thing thats been adapted he is always the buff tall guy he's Soren araya from garden of sinners he's nero chaos and neco arc chaos in tsukihime he's kirei in fate and fact that neco arc chaos is dressed like first hasan in fate Grand carnival and doesn't have to change the voice is extra funny
I disagree with NikNak saying some of the Hassans are weak. All of them have their gimmicks that make them capable of fighting against even first-class servants. And yes, when I mean fighting I don't mean their forte in assassination but an actually head-on-head. For example, Cursed Arm's skill with using dirks are more than capable of matching an Archer in mid-range. Sure, if it was long range his dirks wouldn't be able to reach, a decent archer but his high agility parameter and presence concealment would allow him to close in on most with the exception of Archers with a high enough clairvoyance. Not to mention, his noble phantasm is notably very hard to defend against. It's not quite Gae Bolg level, but if your in it's range it is near impossible to stop it. Finally, Shaytan is capable of defeating a knight of the round table, who is noted to be a first class servant, with very little difficulty. This essentially mean that Cursed Arm can summon a first-to-second class berserker if he is willing to sacrifice himself. For Hundred Faces, versatility and strength in numbers is their main game. They a very large collective skill set allowing for a many options to handle a wide variety situations. The Personas aren't weaker than your average servant either. ONE was noted to be capable of defeating TWO BERSERKERS in a wrestling match COMBINED. These berserkers weren't pushovers either, with one being a dragon-slayer and the other being one of the strongest warriors in their land. Sure they probably didn't use their noble phantasms but the fact that one alone could match 2 first-to-second class servants in a simple brawl speaks volumes. Also a lot of people say that they were quickly defeated by Iskandar but I'd like to argue that being defeated by THE LITERAL KING OF CONQUERORS'S STRONGEST NOBLE PHANTASM does not equal them weak by any regard when a lot of servants would also more than likely fall to it. Serenity is an interesting case. I've noticed that many people believe that Serenity's poison cannot kill servants. This a very false assumption. In a high enough dosage or with prolonged exposure to her even a first class servant can die to it. This was even recently stated by Nitocris during the Grail Live event, in which she agrees with Serenity that if she doesn't continuously cast detoxification spells on herself even she would die if Serenity got to close for to long. Remember, Nitocris is a divine spirit with strong ties with death meaning she should have at least a better resistant to it than most servants but even then Serenity can still kill her. Ghostly Weft in my opinion is probably the second strongest Hassan that we know of only behind Gramps. No Name is the only other candidate that I believe can fight him for that title but we'll talk about her later. Ghostly Weft has the highest Presence Concealment with an EX rank making his presence one with the world itself. Not even Enkidu can detect him. He also can teleport to anywhere their is darkness meaning the only place where you can hide from him is a place where only light exist. Also as long as he remains in shadows, he can essentially stay materialized indefinitely without a master. We haven't really seen him fight another servant proper so I can't speak of his combat prowess but his noble phantasm basically allows him to guarantee a kill on one servant. Now we're onto No Name. I earlier hinted in her prowess with Ghostly Weft. Her section was in the video was disappointingly short so a lot of her details were skimmed over. It is noted that the main reason she wasn't accepted as a proper Hassan was because the elders feared her since she had replicated all of the previous Hassan's trump cards to a degree. The "she didn't make a new Zabaniya" thing was basically the elders' excuse to not let someone so skilled gain a position higher than themselves. Also one might think that she couldn't copy them perfectly and are probably weaker than the original but your only partly correct. Some of her Zabaniya's weren't as strong the originals BUT some were as strong if not even stronger! She didn't just copy and paste the previous Zabaniyas, she managed to improve on multiple of them. She could also use multiple of them at the same time. I would like to have mentioned all her Zabaniyas' different abilities but this comment has been going on long enough. If you are curious enough you can go look at the wiki or just ask me to do it in a reply. I'm not mentioning Gramps because I don't think I need to over emphasize how powerful he is here. Maybe once you've done all the Grands I can give deep dive on whose the strongest amongst them or something along the lines.
42:04 I'm surprised you didn't take a short detour to talk about the Vishakanya thing with Serenity. She in-universe was modeled on that legend... Then again, I don't actually know if there's anything interesting to say there that hasn't been already covered by Serenity herself. 50:59 I think they were doomed to stop at the 19th since the name Zabaniya refers to (or is commonly interpreted to refer to) a specific group of 19 angels... assuming they used that name for their techniques back when they were alive. 52:11 I have a headcanon that this Assasin is also outside the "main 19", since the kanji for his Zabaniya slightly break one of the rules seen throughout the Zabaniyas of other Hassans. 1:14:00 This CE is actually about the Servantverse counterparts of those characters. They appear in the Amazones event. 1:16:19 The first 'persuader' is 舌鋒 and translates better as 'eloquence' or 'sharp tongue'. The second 'persuader' is 説諭. This one seems to actually mean 'persuasion'.
1:06:34 fun fact about the azrael NP: when the First Hassan was put in the game there was a bug with his NP where if you either finish off an enemy or when Azrael’s insta-kill effect is triggered the enemy in question doesn’t disappear, fade away, or in some cases run away they just get straight up deleted from the fight without a goodbye. This was eventually fixed out but either due to future consideration or just fan feedback, the company decided to put the bug back into the game and just made it a feature of the First Hassan’s NP.
Yknow, I've always had this in mind ever since knowing King Hassan can "kill" even abstract concepts: he may be able to "kill" Gilgamesh's connection to his treasury
He doesn't. People often think Salia and Rushd are Hanam's lover and son, but Nasu has stated that Hanam and Salia never quite reached the point of becoming lovers by the time Hanam left.
As for Hassan of the Hundred Faces, apparently the reason why in Fate/Zero is depicted mostly as a male is because one of the other personalities (don't really know if it was one of the named personalities we know though) was the dominant one, while in FGO is the girl we know is the dominant personality
It's less that there's a "dominant personality" and moreso just a division in roles. In Zero there was no need for a "main face" since Kirei basically already served that role on their behalf, but in FGO since they had to interact with others more, they established the most socially capable personality as a main face, hence Asako being so present in FGO.
We do know that the name of the personality you're thinking of - his name is Zayd, and among the many personalities, he's referred to as "the Base", the one who doesn't have anything that's particularly exceptional about him, though he's got a bit of a reputation as a dancer due to the way he moved while weaving around the Tohsaka family's security in the Fate/Zero anime.
The one unfortunate thing about First Hassan is that because he is so strong and having a serious personality, he can't really be put into side Events where the silly shits tend to occur. Which prevent his character to be explored and his skills given more details. Basically, he won't show up unless it is necessary. There are exceptions though, such as the Beni-Enma event where he did come as a guest. Fitting, since the Inn is essentially a Land between life and death itself. He offered to help with the festivities by performing...in which he tell Cursed Arm to step up so he can chop some head.
As someone that has read camelot in fgo ozy survived only cause he had the holy grail and was in his own temple otherwise he would have been dead as shit
Serenity is worth it, she's super sweet. Cursed Arm is the biggest bro in the world. Hundred Faces deserves more love and respect(and hugs). Gramps is gramps and a Dark Souls boss. Edit: may have missed it, but I don't think NikNak brought up the fact that Gramps introduced a new mechanic because of how closely he is related to death. The fact that, *passively* his normal attacks have a chance to outright kill enemies. Also, not gonna get into why Ozy lived, for spoiler reasons, but it wasn't his own abilities.
The hassans are great, so this was a very fun video to watch. also next month sounds like it's going to also be a fun wild ride. wonder who will show up first.
one thing I dont like about fate is how it can have both restrictive yet expansive lore like how Greece, china and Japan are connected yet it cuts out one character from the lore of excalibur that would make it so much more interesting volund the smith who could have had some the the greatest interconnected lore and puts muramasa to shame
I'll add a funny trivia:
When first implemented into the game, Azrael (First Hassan's NP) was bugged. Enemies would just disappear after the animation if it killed them, instead of fading like usual, so they patched it. But people actually liked that enemies were just gone after his NP, so they reverted it.

Or a massive spinning demonic Teddy Bear.
This is gonna be good! Gramps is such an amazing servant.
My god RUclips is on a roll today, I got this recommended 42 seconds after it was uploaded lmao
Lmfao PEAK performance
First Hassan also affectionately called “Bone Daddy” and also screw you Shinji! 🦴
Ah yes. Brossan of the cursed arm. The brossassin class servant.
In the CE where you couldn't find them, The Hassan's were present in the rafters at the top left of the image.
Oooooooh. I'll have to go back and look
Another interesting fact about the Order:
In LB 6.5 Traum a lot of Servants appear (divided up into three faction fighting a war with 100s on each side.
1:17:42 the Hassan’s are on the ceiling light’s on the top left corner
That’s three grands now Lancer, Archer, and Assassin! A few more to go
I'm excited for more!
Getting the Hassan’s one day before my birthday. Thank you for the unintentional gift.
You forgot to mention that Cursed Arm has a family.
@@rotciv557 basically Asako is the superego of the Hundred persona hive mind.
1:17:50 I think the Hassan’s are on the top in the left
The one unfortunate thing about First Hassan is that because he is so strong and having a serious personality, he can't really be put into side Events where the silly shits tend to occur. Which prevent his character to be explored and his skills given more details. Basically, he won't show up unless it is necessary.
There are exceptions though, such as the Beni-Enma event where he did come as a guest. Fitting, since the Inn is essentially a Land between life and death itself. He offered to help with the festivities by performing...in which he tell Cursed Arm to step up so he can chop some head.
54:30 Funny that the other Servant his artist did(54:10) shares their voice with Ains
In the last 100 faces CE they were hiding in the rafters.
Looking very much forward to everything involving Case Files (and perhaps evnetually Adventures of Lord El Melloi II) on this channel.
The old man of the mountain…THE old man of the mountain! THE OLD MAN OF THE MOUNTAIN!!!! GRAMPS THE GOAT!!!!!!
1:13:10 I think it’s meant to be applicable to any of them
one thing I dont like about fate is how it can have both restrictive yet expansive lore like how Greece, china and Japan are connected yet it cuts out one character from the lore of excalibur that would make it so much more interesting volund the smith who could have had some the the greatest interconnected lore and puts muramasa to shame
My headcanon is Jack got her cloak from Cursed Arm
Hell YEAH GRAMPS!!!!
King Hassan is best Hassan.
