Viminacium is one of the centers on the Lower Danube part of the East Roman (Latin) community of late Antiquity, thus the cradle of the Romanian people. It's a shame few Romanians are even aware of this reality, how few actually have this view of history, and this is also valid for the modern-day non-Romanian nations of whose countries these areas are nowadays part of (who only emerged in the late Middle Ages, from a massive Romanian input, such as Serbians and, particularly, Bulgarians). We could even argue that Serbians and Bulgarians are in a way appropriating what is Romanian history and legacy.
