TI84 pricing has dropped a lot. Been trying to sell one for $35 no luck. Agree, even thrift stores with crazy high prices miss stuff. Your knowledge has to exceed the knowledge of the person pricing items. That is the key. The more you know, the better you will do. I found 50 new in package cross stitch kits at a Goodwill bin store. This bin was within about a minute of going into the back room to be dumped, so all the "experts" had already seen it (I just got to the store). Paid $23 for all 50 of them. The best one sold for $120, I have sales from that one find of over $1000. Nice return on $23.

Product knowledge is SO important. I was at the thrift the other day and a new rack came out and this other lady (assuming reseller) frantically went through it grabbing a bunch of The North Face men's items, nothing looked substantial. She mistakenly left 2 items: a Fjallraven down vest and a Johnnie O knitted vest for $6 each. I obviously grabbed both and sold the Fjallraven for $67 a day after listed. She didn't recognize it since it's more obscure than The North Face but obviously more valuable. I'm gonna assume the NF items were priced higher as well since they are more mainstream. I'm assuming these all came from the same person which is another indicator that there's probably more good things if you keep looking.

I stopped going to thrift stores in my neck-o-the-San Francisco Bay Area-reseller-woods when the thrift stores started hiring knowledgeable online resellers to price their items (and cherry pick them!). I have never looked back. I am fortunate to have access to a gold mine of inventory from local estate sales and flea markets, so I am no worse for the wear.

Being a new eBay seller, ( I’ve been dealing in second hand and handmade stuff as a job since the 90’s, just not online as a job) it’s amazing to me how stuff that’s in the graveyard (stuff that’s been there for a long time) just all of a sudden gets views, watches and sells.. and, as always, the stuff I think is gonna sell quick, don’t. But the stuff I’m iffy about, gone. I’ll never understand 😆

Real, especially going to the bins. We have a book bin that literally none of them look through. Found CIB wii sports that sold within 3 hours and another ps2 game CIB that sold within 7 hours. And im confident i could have made more from the books if I had more book knowledge. But the finding two quick and easy sales is gave me motivation to try learning books a bit for my next visit as well because NO ONE at my location was looking at it

    • @goforbroke2

@@Brandon-ge9toYou could build your entire business around the bins. I go 2-3 times a week, I can’t list stuff fast enough to warrant going everyday. I know the general time schedule when they put out new bins, so I only go then. I only sell hard goods, the bins is a goldmine if you live in a decent metropolitan area.

Totally agree! My thrift are highly priced just like everyone else’s but going consistently is key. I find stuff frequently that falls thru the cracks. Last week I found a new sealed Sony Walkman for only $5. Sold it on eBay for $220 in 3 days. I don’t find $200+ items every time but I still find stuff. Being knowledgeable is key! I find lots of golf clubs in goodwill as well.

Same thing for "LATE" in the day garage/estate sales. I have found some of my best $$$$$ items after hundreds of folks walked through the sale.
The very best can and will always slip through the cracks. As good as they are they aren't able to catch it all.
    Study, study, study.
    Blessings,
    K.T.
P.S. I know zero about jewelry let alone costume jewelry. 2:00 in the afternoon on an estate sale 50% off day I found a
brooch for $7.00. Didn't recognize the mark but it "spoke" too me. Sold it two weeks later for $140.00.

Thank you for pointing out the "new" messaging feature!
It's always been a total trainwreck, and this new version is really nice! Sadly, I've had a chance to use it extensively today after my first long-anticipated label mixup. Luckily, the buyers are super chill and I'm staying on top of it - and there's only about $60 total involved to lose.
Thrift prices here (Middle TN) have always been erratic, but I catch them pretty often. They can't know everything. I'm finally getting back in the fray after being in the doldrums for a couple months - first day I got an orange North Face backpack with a Reese's emblem for $8...some kind of promo item...and it sold overnight for $69.95.
I've got a pyrex perc with a broken lid...the rest of it's pristine. Probably will part it out, lids are spendy when I can find them.
    Enjoy your content!

Also found out that most Salvation Army locations aren’t thrift stores… but instead shelters. With being from Panama City, FL, there are zero shelters here and 3! S. Army thrift stores… so we were happy to see that there actually are shelters. Made sense in a larger metro area.

I found 3 used common Disney VHS tapes at one Salvation Army store for $30.00 CND the other day .... everywhere else they are going for 50 cents to $2.00 CND each.

Am I the only person that thinks this type of hypocrisy is ridiculous? Here’s what resellers are saying - IM MAD AT GOODWILL FOR JACKING UP THE PRICE BECAUSE THAT MEANS I CANT JACK UP THE PRICE. So basically it’s selective focus. It’s cool when resellers jack up the price, it’s just not cool when Goodwill does it lol. Imagine how people with nothing feel when they want to buy a pair of Nikes or something nice they can’t afford. Resellers deserve every bit of what’s coming to them. Dear Goodwill: Please jack up the price 200% and don’t stop.
