When Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne toured the Los Angeles LGBT Center's youth center, he was shocked by what he learned-as are most people. An astounding 40% of the youth experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles are LGBT. Think about that for a moment. The CDC estimates that less than 3% of the population are gay or lesbian, yet 40% of the homeless youth in L.A. are LGBT or questioning.
The Los Angeles LGBT Center is the only organization in town with beds and services-provided 24 hours/day, seven days a week-specifically for LGBT youth.

The BBC took something he said and tweeted completely out of context, making people completely misinterpret his words. Eddie is a great guy and he has always paid respect to all the transgender movement. Want to know what his real opinion is? Read the WHOLE interview. He credits the movement, transgender leaders and important figures with how far the movement has come. Here he is showing that he really is an ally and will use his voice for the movement. He is a CIS person that wants to be part of the solution.

I don't understand. We all are people and your sexuality shouldn't be punished! I know so much of gays, lesbians and bis and those are such a wonderfull and amazing people! I wish all people would be more accepting. And I'm glad people are talking about all of this and trying to protect those who cannot or are too weak to protect themselves.

You know, I must say this: I am against the legalisation of gay marriage.
That said, I find it absolutely *disgusting that parents could actually throw out their own child*. Sheesh. It saddens me so much that so many parents somehow can't continue to love their child even if they don't agree with what the child does...

Somehow, I don't really understand why people say they agree or do not agree with other people being lgbt+. It's not really a matter of agreement, since we are born this way. Even if you don't understand what happens in these people's minds, you can take it as it is, we are different, but we cannot change, and I think we deserve the exact same opportunities in life are the "normal" people. That's why I don't understand why we shouldn't be allowed to marry. We love each other, and to be honest, I find the concept of having having to have a mother and a father raise you quite absurd. Because I don't see a difference between the love for your child depending on your gender. And if there is, it is created by society, by gender roles, and these are quite harmful to be honest. That is why I don't understand why people are against same-sex marriage.
