I'm unironically a Goten fan. While he's third on the list compared to Goku and Gohan, I still wouldn't mind him getting more of a chance from breaking away from being a Goku 2.0. Bulma in early Dragon Ball did not act like a genius on screen. In the start we never saw her do smart things, we mostly saw her doing selfish things, being rude, being disloyal, and using her sexuality to get what she want. All her invented and learning was only implied and had all happened off-screen. Toriyama clearly introduced her for sex jokes, not to fill the role of smart character. GT Bra is pretty much like early Bulma in personality. She acts about the same as Bulma did.
You have to love DB logic, A giant dragon that covers the sky is summoned out of Capsule Corp at least once every year, and the son/reincarnation of the guy that conquered the earth drops by along with a bunch of people that can fly regularly, but a teenager not going to school could be too suspicious, sure.

Mai being mentally older than Bulma isn't that disturbing compared to being the son of a former planet conquering alien monkey with various super powers that changes the color of his hair. I'm enjoying the slice of life aspect past 2 chapters. repeating the videl and gohan (saiyaman) formula, but I can't complain. dr. hedo and his minions, gives me strong dragonball vibes. Really chill and cozy. Funny enough emperor pilaf is still around, which is a + for me
Why do people feel that just because Bulma is a genius that her children should be also? Genius doesn't necessarily run in families. Trunks has never been shown to be a genius at all either. If anything he's been shown to speak in a high and mighty way like Vegeta.
I think fans are overexaggerating Trunks' ineptitude with tech. He's not necessarily dumb, he's just an average teen with powers. As he should be. Like previously mentioned Krillin is a monk, Ten Shin Han is too devote to martial arts, Goku doesn't care about prizes or money (neither does Ten) and Yayirobe would be too lazy.
I'm looking forward to this Arc, it's a nice breath of fresh air, not to mention Trunks and Mai's relationship which reminds me of the "Spiderman 2" Dynamic. Mai's madly in love with Trunk's heroic persona Saiyanman X-1. Little does she know that it's him lol. Mai will find out in a dramatic dangerous encounter with whatever Dr.Hedo has in store for them towards the end of the Arc. Like with Peter and MJ at the end of Spiderman 2.

Trunks & Pilaf Gang's Mai are unfortunately lame versions of Future Trunks & Future Mai respectively. Complete opposite personalities & lifestyles to their "Future" Counterparts. For Trunks, he's an immature spoiled rich kid, which contributes to him being dumb & also a simp. Meanwhile Trunks' future counterpart: Future Trunks is actually a Trunks from a Different Dimension where Future Trunks was born & raise in an unfortunate environment that teaches Future Trunks how to mature up, wise up, & become a Real Man & a cool gentleman too. Meanwhile for Mai, we all know Pilaf Gang's Mai is also immature (despite her mind is an old woman in a physical body of a teenager), cunning, deceptive, selfish, & ruthless, where Pilaf Gang's Mai made a lot of bad life choices due to the fact that she hang out in a gang, where gangs are known to make bad immature life choices. Now, for the Future Mai counterpart, again, like Future Trunks, Future Mai seems to be from a Different Dimension, where Future Mai was raised in an unfortunate environment where the Pilaf Gang were K.I.A. causing Future Mai to mature up, wise up & become a strong yet compassionate & selfless woman. And that's why I see Future Trunks > Trunks & Future Mai > Pilaf Gang's Mai.
Given what's going on there's still an out for this if the writters want to take it. If Mai's crush on Saiyaman X1 is truly reminding her of Future Trunks and that she has her heart set on him that much. Maybe Trunks could realize that her feelings is for a different Trunks and not the one right in front of her and maybe he should accept it. I doubt the plot's gonna go that way, but honestly if it did it'd be probably for the best. Other wise it'd be probably the worst hook up the series had. Not even counting Mai's True Age or Mentality. Mean, as far as I can remember even Kid Mai barely acknowleged Kid Trunks, she only had eyes for Future Trunks. Then assuming they've been working in Capsule Corp as long as they had since the early parts of Super and she still hasn't paid any real attention to Present Trunks? I don't know even if it does pan out, it'll just feel like she just settled, and Present Trunks is just filling a void left by Future Trunks in her heart. Like I know DB isn't really known for it's romance, and this may be it's first real concerted effort at it. Just the end result might be the most weakest foundation of a relationship yet.

Id make Goten and Gohan have a fall out over something and see how they rekindle their relationship, I'd make a man chase Bulma or Chi Chi and try to impress them unknowing they are married to the strongest men in the planet.

You questioned why Krillin didn't go use of his superhuman strength/ abilities to get success on sports . Because he already joined the police force and he is the very good policeman and not the bad , cocky cop, he knows if he will stands in the light he will need to decrease the hours of patrolling. Besides he might need to decrease the hours he can see his wife and daughter. He is a family guy after all ( not exactly we would say for Goku).
It's very weird to have Mai in highschool but I'm okay with having her have a crush on Future Trunks and not know Saiyaman X1 is Trunks. My hope is that this leads to her finding out Trunks is Saiyaman and with that she'll have to give up on the crush and Trunks will have to accept the rejection.

Trunks & Pilaf Gang's Mai are unfortunately lame versions of Future Trunks & Future Mai respectively. Complete opposite personalities & lifestyles to their "Future" Counterparts.
For Trunks, he's an immature spoiled rich kid, which contributes to him being dumb & also a simp. Meanwhile Trunks' future counterpart: Future Trunks is actually a Trunks from a Different Dimension where Future Trunks was born & raise in an unfortunate environment that teaches Future Trunks how to mature up, wise up, & become a Real Man & a cool gentleman too.
Meanwhile for Mai, we all know Pilaf Gang's Mai is also immature (despite her mind is an old woman in a physical body of a teenager), cunning, deceptive, selfish, & ruthless, where Pilaf Gang's Mai made a lot of bad life choices due to the fact that she hang out in a gang, where gangs are known to make bad immature life choices. Now, for the Future Mai counterpart, again, like Future Trunks, Future Mai seems to be from a Different Dimension, where Future Mai was raised in an unfortunate environment where the Pilaf Gang were K.I.A. causing Future Mai to mature up, wise up & become a strong yet compassionate & selfless woman.
And that's why I see Future Trunks > Trunks & Future Mai > Pilaf Gang's Mai.

Given what's going on there's still an out for this if the writters want to take it. If Mai's crush on Saiyaman X1 is truly reminding her of Future Trunks and that she has her heart set on him that much. Maybe Trunks could realize that her feelings is for a different Trunks and not the one right in front of her and maybe he should accept it.
I doubt the plot's gonna go that way, but honestly if it did it'd be probably for the best. Other wise it'd be probably the worst hook up the series had. Not even counting Mai's True Age or Mentality.
Mean, as far as I can remember even Kid Mai barely acknowleged Kid Trunks, she only had eyes for Future Trunks. Then assuming they've been working in Capsule Corp as long as they had since the early parts of Super and she still hasn't paid any real attention to Present Trunks? I don't know even if it does pan out, it'll just feel like she just settled, and Present Trunks is just filling a void left by Future Trunks in her heart.
Like I know DB isn't really known for it's romance, and this may be it's first real concerted effort at it. Just the end result might be the most weakest foundation of a relationship yet.

If i were Toriyama I would reqlly think hard and give these characters something to do. Id put Trunks on a mission with Mai to find a secret, hidden power to inpress his father or something. Id make Goten and Gohan have a fall out over something and see how they rekindle their relationship, I'd make a man chase Bulma or Chi Chi and try to impress them unknowing they are married to the strongest men in the planet.
One funny thing that I'm glad is finally addressed is the fact they keep using the term android when they mean cyborg, but still use it anyway.

You questioned why Krillin didn't go use of his superhuman strength/ abilities to get success on sports . Because he already joined the police force and he is the very good policeman and not the bad , cocky cop, he knows if he will stands in the light he will need to decrease the hours of patrolling. Besides he might need to decrease the hours he can see his wife and daughter. He is a family guy after all ( not exactly we would say for Goku).
It's very weird to have Mai in highschool but I'm okay with having her have a crush on Future Trunks and not know Saiyaman X1 is Trunks. My hope is that this leads to her finding out Trunks is Saiyaman and with that she'll have to give up on the crush and Trunks will have to accept the rejection.
