Kudos to Falko for going the extra mile to integrate himself into Singapore. His warmness and open heart makes him even more enduring. The story about the dinning table was very touching.
what she says about milo is true. the truck always taste better. I don't know what they do to the milo, but they have like a special blend that no one knows that makes them taste so much better

Falko and his wife are really friendly. I wasn't sure if approaching strangers for and following them around would backfire but they were so receptive. That was really very nice!

Thanks to the late Dutchman Albert Winsemius' counsel to LKY on economic strategies in the early days, SG was able to avoid economic perils and domestic hardship/chaos. His contribution was so significant that LKY bestow much national commendation and credit to Mr Winsemius. As an Ang Moh living in beautiful SG, I once tipped the auntie at a coffee shop. She was so lovely and I fell empathy and respect for her. All the locals stared at me weirdly though. I hope I’ve not done anything wrong 😊
If I see a foreigner, be it caucasian, black african or even a Korean or Japanese walking around in the heartlands, I would usually take a second glance. In most cases, it is more out of curiosity. It is rude to stare at others, hopefully as we have more foreigners in the heartlands, it becomes less of an oddity and people get used to it.
@@sleepandrelaxation3395 thank you so much! What I mean is that locals stared at me because I tipped the auntie 🙂 Probably it is something that is not done, normally haha
@@ChrisPBacon-mo9ln Oh, thanks for clarifying. You are right, tipping is not the standard practice. Definitely not at hawker centres or coffeeshops, I would look at you weirdly too. As for restaurants, there is usually a service charge included in the bill which is the "tip", so most people don't give extra. For me personally, I may give a small tip if the restaurant did not include a service charge and the service was good.
@@sleepandrelaxation3395 thank you so much for the suggestions. I’ve been living here for more one year, so I’m very well versed in the local habits and customs now. I will keep tipping the lovely aunties though 😉

I think is evaporated milk? Like Milo ‘C’.
i’ve also always wondered, and that is why sports day at my school at the stadium was something I look forward to - just for the milo truck 😍
@idiotidiot-is6ke I think it's a mix of condensed milk and full cream milk. Because it isn't crazy sweet but at the same time it's quite thick

U did nothing wrong and in fact, something nice albeit not expected. So the weird stare that they give would be on the positive side 😊
I love this video. Heartwarming. Just made my day.
13:09 Yup, same in Malaysia, Milo truck's Milo is the best milo ever had😊
This is a great video. Thanks Ghib. I stayed in punggol for almost 18 years, haven't meet any nice Ang mo yet 😅
Who knows! We might still run in to each other!!
@@Thelostwoodworker that will be cool, I'm sure :)
I use to be a swim coach for AquaDucks in Hollandse Club, near Farrer area. Lovely community there, perhaps next time when they have a little one can bring their child go there learn swimming... Also the first time I tried Poffertjes lol, amazing memories I had.
Funnily enough, we brought a poffertjes pan over from the Netherlands so we can make poffertjes on days we miss NL
@@Thelostwoodworker start a poffertjes stall!
Ya,well say we locals keep our emotions in our hearts too much, and it is a bad thing ! I hope we all should learn from people like Falko and their way of living.❤
Thanks !
