Grandma taught me the brown sugar in my chili secret and I still use it. As for your abundance of bell peppers and jalapeños, you should make pepper jelly to serve over a block of cream cheese. You can find the recipe in the pectin box with the other jams and jelly recipes.
Wonderful video Lauren. Your chili inspired us to make some this weekend. We really enjoy your content as it's apparent you are genuine and sincere! Best and blessings to you and your family 🙏
Everything looks so yummy! I can hardly wait to make your baked oatmeal! Homemade cornbread is always the best and so easy to make. Thanks again for an inspiring video!
Overnight oats are so good for already made breakfast. You can make them the night before and there is nothing to do in the morning. You can eat them cold or warm them in the microwave. I make mine with one minute oats and add trail mix. I make mine in small old jelly jars. There are lots of recipes on Google. You can add so many fruits of choice.
Overnight oats are such a great idea! Love the jelly jar idea! I recently made some cinnamon roll protein overnight oats and they’re my favorite. May have to share that in an upcoming video ❤️ Thanks for sharing!
Cheddar Cheese, sour cream, onions, a squirt of yellow mustard, jalapeños, and sometimes Fritos is on my chili! I can the jalapeño’s, make pepper jelly and salsa to can. Jalapeños never go to waste around here! I also chop super small and freeze to go in jalapeño popper stuffed meatloaf, and I freeze dry them to throw in soups and chili.
Beautiful dress Lauren, you look lovely!💐 I had to laugh about the ketchup. Because my sons are grown now, but when they come home for dinner they still ask for ketchup! I tell them Dad and I are empty nesters now...we don't have any ketchup in the house! Enjoy your 'ketchup in the house' years, they fly by.🤗
We are Team Bean for chili and my chili is never the same twice because life’s too short to eat the same chili recipe. 😊. My last batch I used cheddar jalapeño sausages instead of beef and it wasn’t bad. Personally I prefer to add chorizo sausage to my beef in chili. We like sour cream, cheese and Fritos as a substitute for corn bread but corn bread is definitely preferred and to that I usually add a can of creamed corn. It’s not as dry or firm but yummy.
hey girl- love the video!😁 such yummy food- great job Lauren😉 That chili looks amazing. I like cheese and sour cream on mine to. and of course beans. pinto beans are my favorite☺ But my husband doesn't like beans in his🤔😯😆 Y'all have a blessed weekend🥰
For my homemade chili and cornbread, I use the “Simple, Perfect Chili” from Pioneer Woman and the recipe on the box of my yellow corn meal. I usually make half of the chili recipe for my small family, but I keep the original amounts of spices. Everyone’s loved my version of the recipe so far and my secret for cornbread is to butter it while it’s warm. This combo has been excellent by itself, camping, and on chili dogs. I’m simple with my toppings- just sour cream and really good, shredded sharp cheddar. I definitely want to try it on the baked potatoes. What a great idea!
Love your channel. Can’t use Redmond salt due to the crunch. It has silica in it which they admit. How do you do it without feeling like you’re eating sand in your food?
I'm new to this salt so I wasn't aware of that. I only noticed a slight bit the other day in something I ate (I can't remember now lol). I'm wondering if it doesn't have a chance to dissolve in some foods/recipes and then it leaves a crunch? I don't know. May I ask what salt you prefer?
I see you use Redmond real salt. I did for a little while but when adding it to my bread it made the bread crunchy. Any advice on eliminating this or have you experienced any crunch? I does contain silica, sand, so I guess makes sense.
I just recently started using it but haven't noticed too much of a crunch... maybe it needs to be dissolved more so it doesn't keep it's crunch? Do you have another type of salt you prefer? Thanks for sharing!
So sorry to hear about your chickens 😔. I guess that's one of the downsides to farm life. I usually add some sugar to my chili. Beans just depends on what I have on hand. I love cheese on top and add in some Fritos if I have them.
So sorry to hear that. Hope you'll still enjoy my channel, just adding sponsors I've enjoyed. If I missed something about this company do follow up and let me know. Always wanting to be as authentic as possible and we have very wholesome values as a family so no sponsor will be changing that! Thanks for watching and hope you'll join us again soon.
Rude comment. You will never find a "perfect" company, anywhere, period. You pick your battles. A lot of us are rural, including myself, and we have to order items online from companies. This beautiful woman does the very best she can and shares her knowledge. If you make judgement because of companies, and don't like her channel, then leave and be gone. Personally you're quite shallow and ignorant. You need to be banned.

That is such a great idea! Love that!
I bet that chili had the best flavor being cooked over the fire & a cast iron pot !! ❤
It hit the spot! Excited to do that again this fall, was so relaxing! Thanks for watching!
What a sweet video. Love everything about it. Your daughter is precious! Fyi, get a 2nd opinion on the surgery. 😂😂

Thank you so much! Really appreciate your comment!
I hope you recover from your “surgery” quickly because you are a busy gal 😉❤️
lol 😆 I know, right?! 😅 thanks so much for watching

I think I've purchased a lifetime's supply of ketchup already lol! That is such a good reminder of the season we're in. Thanks for sharing with me!
We make chili and cornbread for the first time each year on Halloween. Have done it for forever…family tradition!
Us too!!! It just seems like the perfect meal on Halloween.
Nice 👍🏼 We make mummy dogs and brownies in my Jack O Lantern 🎃 pan for Halloween. Homemade chili and cornbread is a year long meal for me. lol
Chili at Halloween time is the best! I like to make "mummy dogs" for the kiddos too as a side. Thanks for watching!
mummy dogs have a been a tradition here too!
What a wonderful simple life was just telling my son I wish I would have grown up like this !
It really is, we often forget not many people get to live like this. It's quiet and probably boring to some but we love it!
Brown sugar even goes into my bolognaise. Just a pinch, but like salt in a sugary cake, it brings out the flavours.
I’m that way too, that’s how Grandma always did it! 😋
Delicious food and great family time!! What a blessing. Hope your “surgery” went well😊
It was a quick surgery thank goodness, lol! Thanks so much for watching
I love beans. The more the merrier. I usually use pinto and black beans.
I always like that combination too! Thank you so much for watching

Those are fantastic tips! Thank you for sharing! The chorizo sounds like a great idea as well as the jalapeño sausages! Yum!
I love canned pinto beans in my chili. Thanks for the chili recipe. Just haven't been happy with my chili lately.
I hope you enjoy it! I swear my chili turns out a little bit different every time, I should probably stick to one recipe 😆
I just found your channel and I love it! We also live in Missouri! ❤
Hey! 👋 welcome!! Sorry I’m so far behind on comments, but I’m so glad you’re here!
Love this video! Great dinner ideas! 😊
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed! 😊

Mmm yes I love chili leftovers on baked potatoes! So good! Your version of the chili recipe sounds delicious! Thanks for sharing
Homemade cornbread is so much better than the box I just think, but my husband is hooked on the box kind. Lol. The oatmeal pie looked amazing!
It was good! We've always been a jiffy box mix family so I get it but no one said a word and my husband loved it! Yay! thanks for watching!
@@rustichoney that’s a win for you!!
Chili and cornbread tasted amazing! Thanks for sharing good food and family time.
Thanks for joining us!
I am writing down every recipe. Thank you so much Lauren. Only you could make someone drool over oatmeal. 😂. Thanks for sharing my friend. God Bless ❤
Thank you! One of these days I'm going to get these recipes printable for you! Thanks for watching!
I'm putting chili and cornbread on my list for next week's menu! Looks so good! 😍 I will try the oatmeal bake too....yum. Thanks Lauren. 🤗
Glad this video inspired dinner! Thanks for watching!
I'm looking forword to the recipe Binder Video 😍 love that so much and wait for it 😊
Thanks for sharing!
Sorry, I am so behind on that, but I promise it is coming!! Thanks for hanging out until then ❤️
I use chili beans and kidney beans in my chili, with beef and tomatoes and chili seasoning.
Jalapeño jam is amazing to serve over cream cheese and crackers!
Yes! Love that during the holiday season!
HAPPY Friday Lauren and family! YUM AND YUM! STTB
Thanks for watching!

Ugh I was enjoying your channel until the thrive market sponsorship. Not a wholesome company.
How?
Neither is your comment wholesome! Go figure...
I'd love to know why too...
