Fun fact: that northern section of Central Park was once a tobacco farm back in the mid-1600s! My 10th great grandfather Jean Johannes de la Montaigne ran it for his brother-in-law before he got into politics and became the last Vice Director of the colony of New Netherland.

Two of his granddaughter Eva’s sons are on my family tree as direct ancestors (there are a lot of repeat names on the tree-that happens often in rural areas like Ulster County, NY in the 1600s and 1700s). Doing my family research, I’ve had lots of fun reading about New York history, something that, as a Midwesterner myself, I hadn’t done before.

That's a very cool fact! I'm not from America, but I'm so curious of the history of Central Park, like who decided it would be a nice tidy-shaped mega-block park? And when? Was it over a period of time? Were there all sorts of heritage listed placed like the tobacco farm you mentioned all cobbled together & someone decided "This is Central Park'?

Law Olmsted, who is now considered to be the father of landscape architecture here in the US. The entire park was crafted by him and he was the first park director.

Beautiful neighborhood. Fantastic views. I like the gym. HA! A Murphy bed is now considered a bedroom! That's a new one. It ranks up there with the snack bars calling themselves kitchens. Hmm... I liked this. The current owner made effective use of the space and it does feel like a home. $2.2M is a good price but... while this would rank very high as an option, I think I'd look around a bit more to see comparables at that price point.

I kinda like it but might like something else better. Honestly never saw a dining table with those little stools. Guess they don't want people to linger.

if it's emotional pain.. please give something to yourself today, that you want. An ice cream, a hot bath, if you're homeless, just go find a small patch of grass, and plant yourself. If it's physical pain, I recommend Ginger Root tea infusion.. if it's tooth pain, then please use some coconut oil. Oil-pulling.. you hold it in your mouth, and the oil pulls all bad bacteria out of your mouth, removing the source of irritation causing pain. Please know I"m thinking about you, and you're not alone. I hope you receive some relief. xo

Thanks Cash! Watching your videos makes me so thankful for living in my house in sunny Florida. I am always amazed at home much people pay for a place to live in the concrete jungle of NYC.
People don't pay for nice living spaces but rather the people/culture/diversity/opportunities. Still really expensive though. Queens has a lot cheaper and bigger places and is a super cool area.
I miss this format. Short, sweet and to the point. Don’t get me wrong; it’s great for you to show multiple units. I just like the focus when you show one.
I agree. When there are too many listings I can't concentrate and dedicate my attention to what is being shown. 1-3 viewings work well for me but on some of his viewings there are like 5-8 units being featured. However, I'm sure his priorities and objectives are much different than adjusting to one subscriber.
Agree. This is what we come here for. Most of us don't really care about renting an apartment! We're here for Cash and Commentary!

Also, I would SINCERELY HOPE that there are many Landlords who follow this channel and consider some of the advice and critiques that are noted about properties. A LOT of it is fantastic advice and critiques. There are indeed people here looking for apartments, but one can also gain much knowledge from this channel ie interior ideas, amenities need and wants, etc.
@@sinash I know! There used to be a guy named Abe who was from, I think, Ireland. He commented every day. I looked forward to seeing him. Then when some of us started greeting him he disappeared. Guess we freaked him out!
@@nygrl6102 I wouldn't necessarily come to that conclusion. People just move on for whatever reasons. But, none-the-less, there is quite a developed community on this channel and along with making real-estate agents celebrity stars, it's all very enjoyable viewing.

We Canadians channel all our negative energy into our geese. That's why Canadians are so nice, and the geese are so angry.
LOL!! I used to live in Oakland by Lake Merritt. The Canadian geese would settle in around the lake during the mild Californian winter. They would then harass the annoying joggers by chasing them and pecking at their heels. Always enjoyable. The only rough part was when they would fight loudly in the middle of the night. Of course, that's popular with humans as well in Oakland, soooo....
Many apartments are variations on a theme. Some cost two million some can be had for as little as 34k but most have 2 or 3 bedrooms and a number of bathrooms. Most have light streaming in, some have free parking etc etc.
Most faces have two eyes, a nose and a mouth but some look like Marilyn Monroe and others like Broderick Crawford if you get my point. Thanks, Cash, for showing us the Marilyn.

Love all the windows but living in a place like that for 2 million and still be around so many people in that building is just like living in any apartment building. For that much I don't want to share my space. See ya

Nice neighborhood, nice place, but I couldn't even afford the monthly maintenance fee. It's actually a two-bedroom, plus a den with a murphy bed. I notice that Cash didn't slam doors and appliances. "You break it, you buy it", and someone was watching.

I grew up with a pool but don't have one now. Canadian Geese and Mexican food are my favorites. A flock of Canadian geese fly over my head every night around dusk. They must have followed me from NYC or they are attracted to my fairy lights. lol The apartment is nice especially the view but it needs a serious makeover to make it more exciting-)

The farther north you go . . . the better will probably be the water pressure see'ins how that's where it travels from (points north). Sure got that about Wells Fargo and Sen. Warren let them charge the customers for the costs of what they did. Amazing. Fees for illegal fees for fees they didn't know were there.
