Don’t ever apologize for poor English. You’ve made an attempt to adapt to a language not your own, which is a lot more than most of us do. I had no problem understanding you. This is a great project, and I’d be starting it right now if I had any bulky yarn at hand. Thank you for sharing. 💖💖
6 years later - fab basket, fab tutorial. Thanks so much Dani - look forward to check out your other videos now you have been found. Mine is done in the most perfect two colours, light purple and turquoise. My Northern Lights basket, a perfect fairy basket to match a sugar plum fairly blanket. Thank you so very much for this tutorial - I felt I following along perfectly, although I ended up with 36 stitches - just kept going, went to 6th and then chained 6, skipped 6 for the handles etc. Fantastic that you mentioned to slip stitch last row, as my purple was running out. I can't wait to make more, but I'm sure nothing will beat these two colours together. Just perfect!
I just got back into crochet about six months ago and was dreading the magic circle because others are hard to follow in their videos, but your instructions made it so simple, easy to follow, and completely helped me get over that. Thank you!
There was absolutely no problem understanding you. Your English was perfect!! And your project is great also. I've added it to my favorites so I can start this one next.
I think in your future tutorials telling us what the stitch count should be at the end of each row would be helpful . This makes sure we are all on the right track. Just an idea for you to consider. Also, letting us know whether the first stitch counts as a stitch or not is also helpful. This helps in the counting of stitches. I had to take it out 3 times before I was able to get the 30 stitches with row of the back loop only. Otherwise, it’s was a good tutorial and the basket works up fast for a quick gift and it was real pretty ... thanks for putting the tutorial on you tube !!
PS. I noticed when she took out her stitch marker for Row 3 she skipped a stitch and went into the next Stitch. That would also mess up your Stitch count & yes at 6:06 she says in the Back loop Only. Nothing more frustrating to tear your work apart and have to redo it numerous times 🙄 if you're New to Crocheting or baskets you can slow down the video speed. 🎥
Your English is great, your explanation of steps involved in the project and the rhythm of your speech with the tutorial is great. My only suggestion would be that it would be very helpful if you could state the numbers of stitches there should be at the end of each round when increasing and maybe on the rounds when making the handles. Very enjoyable tutorial and helpful when you stated the stage whereby the basket can be made smaller or larger.
Very nice video - you get right to the project instead of doing a lot of jabber like a lot of other designers do. You are doing a great job with your English and tutorials. Excited to make a few of these baskets! Big thumbs up to you!!!
You are speaking english very well. I'm a brazilian and I could understand each little words that you have said. Great! And I loving that style basket crochet.
This is so cute. Just made one with your fantastic instructions. I don't have bulky yarn so I used some other yarn and I had. Turned out perfectly. And by the way, your English is absolutely fine.
This worked out great, thank you so much. I am using my material stash and cut up 1" strips of fabric to make mine. It turned out GREAT! You did a great job with the tutorial, and I enjoyed your instructions.
Great tutorial! Easy to follow and you show exactly where to place hook and yarn, which makes easy following for beginners. And thank you for learning English and assimilating to our country!! Anyone who goes to another country should assimilate by learning the language and their way of life. That shows respect to the people of that country you have moved to. There are many languages that are difficult to learn; Russian, Chinese, and most definitely English!!! The rules confuse even us! So, thank you very much for learning and speaking my language. I don't NOW of anyone who would not help you with the language or try to understand what you are trying to say even nought you're having difficulty! You are doing great job speaking English.
Mts. CJ, I had no problem understanding your speaking, your tutorial was fun and easy to follow, Thank you for this project my is very nice, now I want to crochet a large one....lol
Thanks for the video! It's very easy to follow. I have lots of this yarn leftover from making beanies. I think it'll look cool to make striped baskets out of it.
Hi CJ this is such an easy basket to crochet. Is there a formula to follow for making the handles? I want to make a bigger base of 10 rounds instead of 5 so the final stitches are going to be 60 instead of 30 so how many stitches do I count to space my handles? Thank you❤
Any way we can get written out instructions for this video? I love the basket but am having a hard time following along...it helps me to have the instructions to print out...thank you!! SO love this basket!!!
Great instructional video. Your voice is so pleasant and clear, no worries :) Subscribed. Love your creation, can't wait to try it. Simple but gorgeous!
Thank you for the video, is it strange that the bottom, or the other side is a lumpy crocked line. Puff's up all weird, this might be common and I don't know it. Can you tell me if that is normal?
RUclips has many great Tutitorials for "Larger Baskets". If you want your basket larger simply continue to increase rows at the bottom and continue up from there ☺️👍
There's plenty of larger Basket projects on RUclips but if you want to make your basket larger just continue increasing on the bottom until it's time to make your Rim and you get to the size you want and go upward from there.
Which yarn (color/brand) are you using on the basket highlighted in the beginning of the video? Also wondering what the dimensions of the final basket are....
This is the best video I have seen, very easy to follow and your English is very good. You explained things very well, which was so good for me as I wear Hearing Aids. Thank you :-)Will be looking forward to starting this basket :-)
I have made 2 small sample baskets since watching. Love this pattern, and first time I have been able to finish one. I need to practice more on getting the row joins neater, some of my stitches were a bit looser. I will be using my leftover balls of yarn to keep practicing. An ideal project for beginners. Thank you so much CJ, you have given me a new hobby :-)
why does mine start to curl and wave after the first few rows? It's not just a little either. I've taken it all out and started over a few times. I always seem to have this problem!
I had the same problem and I think its because we carried on putting 2 DC in the same stich all the way around. I am just about to retry and see if I can work it out😏
Don’t ever apologize for poor English. You’ve made an attempt to adapt to a language not your own, which is a lot more than most of us do. I had no problem understanding you. This is a great project, and I’d be starting it right now if I had any bulky yarn at hand.

Thank you so so much! ♥️
@@CJDesignblog want to make but beginning magic ring a bit confusing, after I make ring I'm not sure what you did next! Please explain if you can
You are brilliant. No need to apologize ❤

Great tutorial, thank you! I made a perfect basket in less than an hour and now I can't believe how much money I've spent on this in the past!
There was absolutely no problem understanding you. Your English was perfect!! And your project is great also. I've added it to my favorites so I can start this one next.

I agree with your comment👏 but as a rule of thumb, the first stitch/chain 1-2-3 counts as a stitch.
PS. I noticed when she took out her stitch marker for Row 3 she skipped a stitch and went into the next Stitch. That would also mess up your Stitch count & yes at 6:06 she says in the Back loop Only. I would love to know what size in inches basket is. Thank you. Do you know how I would enlarge it if needed? I need about 12" long by 6"or 8" wide.
what size did it end up being when done.
Thank you for the video, is it strange that the bottom, or the other side is a lumpy crocked line. Puff's up all weird, this might be common and I don't know it. Can you tell me if that is normal?
No it's not common if you're working in the Round correctly. There are Videos that show you how to to create a "Seamless" basket, bowl, etc.
I am a beginner! I love this! But i would like to make a large on to use for storage. Is there a pattern somewhere?
RUclips has many great Tutitorials for "Larger Baskets". If you want your basket larger simply continue to increase rows at the bottom and continue up from there ☺️👍

Doesn't say how many yards each skein is.

You lost me at the magic circle. I understood your English but I don't know what that is , I've never heard the term magic circle.
