my wife had this done 3 years ago, started having headaches again and found out that her aneurysm had started growing at the neck. hers looked like the video above and it looked as if you took a balloon and stretched it, she's having a pipeline embloization procedure done to fix it permanently. if at all possible try to avoid the coil, the pipeline will cause it to shrink and almost go away with out having to do surgery again. the procedure wasn't offered at our hospital at the time and was just being introduced in the U.S.
my husband is having his 3rd surgery for his aneurysm.... it ruptured in Feb of this year which was coiled, went for the follow up mri in may and found that it had grown at the neck... additional coiling was done in June, at his last follow up mri we found it had grown yet again.... this time a stent will be added along with more coils, as long as the artery isn't irritated, if it is the Dr's will do a bridge of the artery and block the artery with the aneurysm so it dies... 2016 has been a stressful year!!
The blood clots around the coil, preventing the blood from flowing through the aneurysm which might cause it to rupture. I had this done in 2004.I hope everything worked out for your sister.

My sister is having this done soon and I wish I understood how this procedure keeps the aneurysm from causing problems.
