I guess we can say, that we’re grateful for all the wounds you endured. Otherwise, we wouldn’t know that the hypothetically-perfect street tire would wobble so much. The side by side comparison was amazing. It really helped determine how each tire perform. Your video concept, editting & video making skill is great indeed. You knew that you’ll need side by side comparison, thus your friend in the video. Thank you Kuji, thank you so much!
The whole video I keep wondering in the back of my mind if the guys at Veteran are watching your video going “yup that’s why we chose the knobby tire in the first place”
Coming from 20+ years on motorcycles my first thought with that high speed wobble was wondering if the tire had been balanced. Reading the comments, I'm not surprised to see so many others wondering the same. The same goes for any tire really, low speeds you may not notice it at all, however higher speeds exponentially increase the fact that there is a weight displacement and thus you get that nice "death wobble" as I've always called it at higher speeds lol. Anyways, I'm not sure how I ended up at this video but it was a great watch! Get that tire balanced and give it another shot before you dismiss it first! =)
You're an absolute maniac on these wheels man, I love it. Watching your confidence as you speed through certain terrain and riding out wobbles blows my mind
Kuji wins the limbo contest! I can’t believe how low he got when he went under that street crossing arm when it was down. 😂 Watch the shadow figure on the ground in front of you when you are crashing in slow motion.
I’m sure you’ve healed up a bit by now already, but for the type of injury you sustained to your hands, I highly highly recommend hydrocolloid bandages. I had a similar wipe out a few years ago, and it’s the only thing that controlled the constant wound weeping and allowed it to heal properly, while also giving me back use of my hands.
I didn’t know about EUC, we where talking at my friend’s place when i saw another one of your test footage and now i want one of these really bad haha!! Your review’s are really professional and tested to the edge of what any one you test can reach and sometime’s beyond the limits by seeing you crash few times already so goooood job, if you need a snow and ice tester up north give me a call😂❤️🤟🏼
Awesome videos! I like seeing all the new riding spot and your new friend =D, very VERY surprised that the knobby is better at high speed, that is exactly what I would have predicted. And that fall.. ouch!

i have a feeling they will eventually release a v.2 of this thing in a year or more with suspension and better pedal clearance, once they do that. this will be virtually a flawless wheel.
Just an amazing video. Falls are unavoidable on a unicycle. The angle of attack you can take is really amazing compare to the first generation of the 2012/ 2015 units.
Great review and thanks for taking the risks so others don't have to. For me the choice is clear. First I'm not buying this machine to go 30mph or less. That's like getting a sports car and driving 55 all the time. Second, if someone with your skill set has problems handling that street tire at speed it means I should stick with the more stable knobby tire. It's too bad because the increased street noise is annoying and slow speed handling appear to suffer but I guess you can't have everything. Hope you heal quickly.
I just love how this video is filmed the bussling city and how informative it is but I never knew of these EUC till I found this channel i might just try to learn to ride one.
WOW, what a video. The knobby tire although loud it seems to cause zero wobbles and so much grip (which was my experience). The street tire based on your video seems iffy. Very glad you're ok Kuji. Get well fast
Ordered one a month ago. Can't wait. Have experience with EUCs a lil bit so not new. Rode my buddies Sherman and just had to get one. I have over 10,000 miles on my Onewheel XR and wanted more of a serious vehicle for traveling.
great video like always. always pushing the limits...and accident...just stay safe. your health is more important then to have a speeding experience. its still illegal here in germany to ride the euc's. but still hoping that it will become popular and legal. till then i am enjoying to watch others in videos like this. ✌🏻
Maybe, a little bit of suspension travel might surely help to keep keep the contact patch planted at the surface at all times, well most of the time depending on how you ride I suppose haha? But yeah sure, my wish is too see just a tad suspension and properly made, sturdy and no cheap, weak parts or constructions involved. Problem I see at this point in EUC evolution is that they need to start thinking about evolving these wheels in 2 different directions, you want street or off road? A longer suspension could potentially become expensive and perhaps complicated if wanting to get away with a "all in one" type wheel, for me looking for the fastest most rugged possible city wheel I would not want a long suspension travel, just something that can keep that contact patch and swallow seen and unseen obstacles and that is all. But fully understand others want a gigantic amount of movement for acrobatics or off road at the enduro trail. Will be interesting to follow development next few years and see how they solve technical challenges ahead without cost running out of control or quality suffer?
luffararne I agree. For me, just stability and safety matter. Segway PT had two models - i2 and X2. One for the street/tours and one for off roading. The X2 had huge diesel-looking wheels.
So it's called a speed wobble. And It happens on motorcycles as well. The tread pattern on the tire may be causing it to wobble like that, Harley Davidson iron 883 used to come with a front tire with a similar tread pattern to yours and it would wobble pretty badly under acceleration and heavy breaking similarly to your tire. If you are already taking the tire off to put the knoby one back on, you might as well experiment with different tires. Plus it's content for your channel.
Tread pattern is a great point. I wonder how a racing slick would behave. Maybe it’s time to start thinking about high-speed stabilizers. Perhaps a wing or what about gyroscopic. Maybe the software can detect and correct. Everyday I ride a KS16X with stock tire with a similar tread pattern. At max psi, (37) it’s flick-able and dangerously wobbly above 30Kph. It seems the lower the air pressure, the more stability. Contact patch? How about a softer rubber? I would trade tire durability for speed.
@@bryanreidsands6854 I'm not an engineer, so I have no idea how you could correct speed wobbles on a one wheeled vehicle. On motorcycles it corrected for through the bars/forks, but since these don't have handle bars or front forks. Your guess is as good as mine. But as far as your tires are concerned, look for something with no rain groves on the center portion of the tire. Especially like this one that has a continuous squiggly grove down the center patch. Slicks should work to eliminate any wobbles for heavy acceleration and heavy breaking. But are going to slide around on you in the rain, so if you don't ride in the rain that's fine, but if you do then take it slow. Or just look for a street tire with rain groves and a clear center patch. Also as far as air pressure is concerned. If you are very concerned about fuel economy, high top speed, and getting the most distance out of your battery, keep the air pressure at the maximum the tire allows. But if you want more contact with the ground, better acceleration, better braking, more comfortable and better riding experience. Lower the air pressure. But personally I wouldn't say lowering the air pressure will "fix" or reduce the chance of speed wobbles on a poorly designed tire. But if it has been working for you, then that's good. But I still recommend replacing the tire. Cause the moped/scooter tires that they use in these are dirt cheap and you're only buying 1.
Awesome video! I’m shocked you didn’t use that hard crash as click bait for the video. But I respect you so much more cuz you didn’t! Keep the content coming
Geez that fall was shocking. Glad you're not hurt worse. They can add speed and suspension, but I hope the wheel makers can start figuring out ways to reduce wobble.
Hi! It would be amazing to see detailed videos on entry level wheel too! I'm new in this field and I can't find good quality content about ks-14D (for example) ad so on. Great Channel!
PS! I forgot to add a little bit of advice from a person of extreme sports. It’s got to do with road rash/road raspberries. When you fall and you get these third-degree road rash burns anywhere on your body. The remedy is quite simple. Take a sandwich baggie and cut it 2 inches larger than the road rash. Then apply triple antibiotic me a sporran to the wound. Then tape the plastic over the wound. I have a literally hit a nail on a skateboard ramp and pulled my pad completely off and knees with out leaving an amazingly horrific raspberry. I added nearest born to the hall and then taped on the plastic and Skateboard and the rest of the day without even noticing. Then, the next morning when I woke up I didn’t need to peel the sheets off my knee. That being said, spread the good news. PS, stay off your face, it seems to be working really well for me.
I think you should go try going over that same bump with the knobby tires. They were added for good reason, the manufacturer knows very well that these will go offroad, hit potholes/bumps, etc.
