The price depends on what you're looking for exactly, things like condition and whether or not all of the serial numbers on the various parts match affect the price greatly. A 98k with all matching serials, intact and clean waffenampts, early to mid-war production, and in pristine condition would cost you a pretty penny. On the other hand, a Yugo or Russian arsenal rebuild with no matching serials, missing parts like sight hood, sling, and/or cleaning rod, and in beat up condition can be gotten for relatively cheap. The most famous American scientist they sought help from was Robert H. Goddard for his work with rockets.
For those who like stories, here is an interesting one on a batch of K98k's post WW2, and more specifically, one owned by an uncle of mine. I live in South Africa, and this particular rifle had a fascinating journey. Produced in 1939 and issued to the Wermacht, this rifle survived the war and knocked about a bit for 2 years or so before being part of a batch that was sent to the then fledgling state of Israel to help arm her soldiers (Ironic that such an iconic Nazi weapon went on to help Jewish people fight for their nation). During this period the Wermacht markings were burnt out (Although the German eagle is still slightly visible) and it was re-chambered to fire a 7.62 round. After ending its 2nd service life and then some, this rifle then joined a batch that were sold abroad in the 70's, some of which found their way to South Africa (The weapons embargo on Apartheid South Africa only became mandatory in 1977). Although not as fresh looking as the example in this video (77 years of almost continuous use tends to leave a mark), the one my uncle got is still as accurate and robust as it ever was. Gorgeous 98. Outstanding bolt work. thanks for sharing.
Who all after pubg
@@unnamed_boi he's indian, probably plays the mobile version rather than the original one.
@@unnamed_boi if "asians" play CoD for the battle royale mode they don't deserve to live
I just picked up a 1940 K98
With all of its markings.pure beauty
best pubg weapon
Rakan Khalid
AWM
was at the range and a guy a few lanes down had a K98, I could really feel it in the chest every time he fired it
M1 garand
Mosin Nagant are for kids.
K98k are for men. the germans produced the first Assault rifle ( Stg 44) the first fighter jet ( ME262) and the first ever Ballistic missle (V2 rocket) damn germans and they're godlike engineering.
Damn Wehraboos and their idiotic worship of their overrated loser Nazi "gods".
A gorgeous rifle. Love the sound.
Call of Duty 3 got the audio for this rifle on point! The attention to detail is immense.
I love that Reagan t shirt, great video btw
This mauser is in such great condition. I have searched the internet, I can't find one that looks this good
this used to be easy to find, but they're gone now, there was a shorter carbine version made too, but never found it for sale
I think the rifle is a nice example, but the quote at the end is especially interesting and thought provoking.
I agree with a lot of the other comments. This rifle looks great, the sound of the bolt is wonderful, and the report from those 8mm rounds going off is scary cool.
I think "bad ass" is appropriate.
DEADLY ACCURATE EVEN WITHOUT A SCOPE.
Iraqveteran8888 has a Video on the G98 and how accurate it is he got a bullseye with it that gun is scary accurate German sniper Matthäus hetzenauer hit a Soviet from 1.1 km the longest sniper kill in ww2
I actually popped one watching this thank you so much for this

Grandpa: "GET DOWN GRANDSON!
HERE TAKE THIS GRENADE AND TOSS IT!"
The sound is awesome!
Nice rifle my friend, beautiful, strong and efficient German rifle
Hey Alex, I love the channel and it's actually gotten me into WWII quite a bit. While I realize you've already done one with the Gewehr 98, I would like to see a run and gun with the K98 to understand how the shorter overall length affected the rifle's operation in combat.
Such a satisfying “ptang” sound when a shot is fired.
I love my K98k. It has all the markings intact and was made in 1938. It has mismatching numbers, but shoots great. I had to replace the ejector and firing pin. I just need to replace the cleaning rod and strap.
great video mate!
Love the rifle, love the shirt even more, love the man the most. Made me realize how much I miss the Gipper.
The 98k is shinning!!!!!!how well you keeping it
It so glorious
As a kriegsmarine gun it likely saw very little action. Probably was in the hands of some guy guarding a dock.
I never see a ww2 gun like this quality, it shocked me at the very beginning.
Loved on how fast you can cycle the bolt. It is close to a semi-auto.
That bolt action operating is satisfying
I look forward to that WWII German weapons sweep! This was a well done video. That German Navy issue rifle did look outstanding. Wall hanger and working range rifle. You chose well!
Acabei de virar fan de seu canal, excelente! 👍👏
I really need to start digging through your channel
holy shit that echo
loved it, thanks for the video
My grandpa was a Wehrmachtsoldat and he often told me that the 98k steps like a horse. But it was/is a wonderful gun!
Greetings fro Austria.
