      I have purchased gopro 11 before some days after selling my 10, i have also used 9, there is no significant difference between these, gopro 11 also not good in low light, it also get hanged and not become back without set out battery for this it is so hard with media mode, gopro should rectify these problem as well give 3.5 mm jack for mic in his upcoming model than GOPRO will be winer of world 🌎

      did you really watch his video - it clearly shows 11 is WORSE in lowlight than 10! It just gives an overall darker picture that deceives one into thinking its cleaner. But if you bring exposure up to match hero 10 level, you'll get the same mush. Also in 11, in lowlight sometimes his face was completely consumed by darkness, while hero 10 performed better keeping face visible. How on Earth can anybody call that "an improved" performance?

  • @ski-lift-channel
    @ski-lift-channel 2 года назад +2

    The ISO comparison at 2:50-
    Well then this begs the obvious question- what if you set the 10’s max ISO to 1600? Or 800? That would darken up your image, probably something comparable to the 11 on the other side of the screen. And it would help to eliminate some of the noise.
    But, would that screw with the shutter speed? Would the image be useable?

  • @moxnix

    I have the 10, the 11 was replaced with the 12. The 12 needs to improve low light issue before I buy another. Maybe the 13 will have a larger image sensor and then maybe the video HyperSmooth stabilization will work in low light with less video noise. When I say 'low light' I'm talking about riding dark roads and trails, the only light most of the time is my bike light.

  • @1MinuteEDM

    Hero 11 Go Pro doesn't perform well in low light based on my multiple tests. The noise and graininess is so bad you cannot consider it for professional footage. The image stabilization in low light is average. It is being sold on massive hype when it comes to night or low light photography, and since it's not on amazon for sale, giving authentic reviews on all aspects becomes difficult. The only good footage you get is on natural daylight outdoors.

    • @lauismutube
      @lauismutube 2 года назад +5

      Most of the action happens under brightly lit conditions. Gopro videos showcase some of the best stuff, under good lighting. If that’s marketing gimmicks then good for them! I love my Gopro and I get fantastic shots from it.

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 года назад +12

      I start this video off by saying all action cameras are not meant to shoot in low light. However, there are ways to get decent footage. Re: GoPro Image stabilization, I challenge you to name another compact sub $500 camera with better built-in stabilization.

    • @1MinuteEDM
      @1MinuteEDM 2 года назад +1

      The daylight performance and stabilisation is excellent. My comment is specific to low light, in room, evening and night performance when it comes to image and video quality and image stabilisation. Your video makes it clear and proves the quality you get. Just take a look at your video that's shot in low light. Also by your challenge, you seem to be justifying poor quality for anything under $500 and that was not my intention as I do like Go Pro 11 for daylight and action shots. Since you specifically asked DJI OSMO Action latest model is a great alternative too.

    I think the gopro 11 looks much better. I sometimes want to take great atmospheric shots with my smartphone at night (Samsung s10) but by default it ruins those atmospheres by making the shot look way too bright, ruining the atmosphere. Glad to see the gopro 11 fixes that gimmicky BS. with 10 bit color brightness can be easily adjusted in post anyway I guess. Autoboost seems like a great feature too. I just upgraded from the gopro 10, mostly for the full frame sensor, but good to see it fares better at this too.

    2:19 why did you record in flat profile at iso6400 ? because it's well known that flat color profile exhibits way more noise than natural/vibrant... The rest of the shots are in Vibrant and only the iso6400 test is in Flat... not a fair test actually...

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 года назад

      I didn't knowingly film in flat for any tests, but looking at the clip more closely, it does look like it may have been -- there's not a way to verify. If so, it was a mistake. Either way, it is also known that ISO 6400 produces more noise than any other ISO.

The only thing it does is make the image darker overall sometimes to an unacceptable level - face blotched in shadows while GoPro 10 maintans clear view of face in frame. Reg the boost - what does it help if when its on - its the same bigger crop and when its off - its not working on boost setting.

    camera looks in low light like its from 2010.. ngl. sad but true, the stabilisation works not good when you walk, the noise is one of the most terrible ones i ever saw on an action cam.(by night)
    didnt expect this from such a new model, i know the sensor is small but compared to other action cams and how they work its not even close, the gropro just looks years behind.. to be fair i dont hunt on the stabilisation because the gopro dont have an build in gimbal like some others... but come on the noise is really not acceptable for such a big brand with that much experience in this sector.
    my opinion, no hate, i like the gopro cams and they can operate really well.. but just in daytime...
    im looking for a cam that can handle noise and motion to strap it on the car (by night aswell) and have some good quality (bitrate aswell! 100mbit/s is the bottom line for me)... the Insta cams are noise too, dji aswell but slightly better in some cases and here with the gopro you get i would say the worst night-experience... why having 5k(+) resolutions even with bitrates between 100-120mbit/s but such a small sensor that none of this really makes sense when you wanna use them outside of the perfect ISO 100-200 spot. thats what bothers me, i know the small form factor but even a lot of smartphones can handle noise way better with even tinier sensors... please but some more effort into software to make these actions cams (not just gopro, all of them) work as the technic inside of them deserves..

    you need to use gopro labs without gimbal in low light.

    As far as I can tell from this video and your last Vlogs, the DJI action 3 destroys the Gopros in term of Low light Stabilizaion. Thanks.

      For certain uses, Sony or something that isn't an action camera can definitely be better.

    Using Hypersmooth tends to overblur the images more or less. So, a total unprofessional test. But even so, GPH10 sensor have a slightly better behaviour in low light. Anyway, these sensors have almost same low light "performances". Real low light ability will appear when they will use Starvis 1 or 2 sensors. Until then, these comparisons are... useless.

    Thanks, you're right, If you buy a GoPro 11 you'll need a Gimbal.

    So the takeaway is the 11 is better at night but both of these cameras are useless at night.

    Thanks for your video. Very helpful. I haven't put the Hero 11 to the test in low light settings yet, but I plan to do so soon .I filmed a video a few months back in low light with my hero 9 and IU was pretty surprized by the results. I normally only shoot utp to 1600 at night - 3200 at a stretch - so i was a little suprized when I saw you use the higher settings. I normally adjust the WB to 3200 or 4000 to capture the best image at night. Do you mess around much with the WB? Cheers. BTW this was my effort. ruclips.net/video/Stu5anJmuWk/видео.html

    The latest fad on YT is to bash GoPro’s overheating and low light issues. Notice how it’s all one big echo chamber. Every other video is “low light test” or “overheating test”. How funny is that

    • @Gemini_Connect
      @Gemini_Connect  2 года назад +1

      It's a fad because those have been 2 GoPro's biggest weaknesses. Personally, I've never experienced overheating, and a camera of that size is almost always going to perform terribly in low light.

    You should try with manual Shutter Speed... the walking videos showing the street are unusable in both cameras right now
