  • hi i spend a lot of time making these small films of when the days were a lot different. most of the photos are from old books or old post cards. i love doing this to show you how life was way back then. some people can not buy books or find things to do with local history so this is why i have done this for all of you.
i do not do this to make money in any way, it is just for free so i do hope you all like the small films i do as it takes a long time to do. i did use to live in SW London but now moved to bucks where i find this is much better for me and my family.
all the best --- Jason Blackman.

i remember the days of being younger.... and like Richard wills said. life was far better then .but we didn't know it. time and memories will always be remembered. the hot water bottle. not so many cars on the road.nice big gardens on the council estate.playing all day and all night.and my mum shouting for me to come in.= bath time school tomorrow. playing over the fields.scrumping. knock and bolt.and we could leave our doors unlocked................. i remember too.iam getting sentimental as i get older..... thumbs up ;0)

. Loved seeing these pictures of only a few years ago; it was a time that's gone and will never come back again mores the pity.

Lovely video of much happier times. I've lived in Aylesbury since 2006. We have evidently lost so much. But you only miss things once they are gone. As with many towns, we now are a segregated community with conflicting aspirations. I don't believe we will ever again have a strong sense of community.

I remember the monstrosity that was the old Friars Square being built. It looked like something from dystopian science fiction film - a concrete nightmare. Thank goodness it's gone. I also remember visiting the cattle market with my cousin every Saturday - when Aylesbury really was a market town :-)

What a gorgeous collection of pictures!! I grew up in a village very close to Aylesbury in the 1970's... now living in bootiful Norwich! 😉 I generally love old photos and collect as many interesting originals I can get my hands on... but these are special, brought so many memories back of that time. Love that later version of Joni Mitchel's song too... such an excellent choice of music. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Subscribed... I think I'm going to enjoy your channel! 😎

I was born and bred in Aylesbury. I was a teenager through the 70's but these photo's are totally alien to me. Just a very occasional thing I recognise - like that town square! I haven't lived there now for 30 years and would never go back ( I still have relatives there). It's so big now. Pretty much the pits.

Fred & Tony Rance ran Crombeys Menswear in the late 1970's next to a pub,
a proper rough house, but that aside, they were nice blokes. It was a good
shop but for some of the clientele, you wouldn't believe the late 70's, Rough.
Me? Long story short. There isn't one. Except, I am on here, on the BBC. DJ.
