  • hi i spend a lot of time making these small films of when the days were a lot different. most of the photos are from old books or old post cards. i love doing this to show you how life was way back then. some people can not buy books or find things to do with local history so this is why i have done this for all of you.
i do not do this to make money in any way, it is just for free so i do hope you all like the small films i do as it takes a long time to do. i did use to live in SW London but now moved to bucks where i find this is much better for me and my family.
all the best --- Jason Blackman.

Don't know why I keep getting drawn to watching photos from the Victorian Times. They r all dead and gone but to see what the earth cradled at different times and in different dimensions is so fascinating. They were here where I am now and I too will one day be where they r now... A real reality check

TheLotussong. I saw this on a head stone. "Remember me as you pass by-As you are now, so once was I- As I am now, soon you'll be-So perpair for death, and follow me."
At least the people in the old photos will be remembered because they're in those photos. I love collecting old post cards.

Very evocative of that time. It's amazing to think that some of the older people could have been born 200 years ago.I'm always intrigued though, and wonder, "who was he?", "where was he going?, "what were they saying?" and so on, not to mention whatever may have happened to them in their lives.

Yes, but, with the exception of a few philanthropists, philosopher's and activists like Barnardo, Nightingale, William Booth, and Charles Booth, etc, that pricked the nations conscience , the condition of the working class was appalling for most of the 19th century.

It is just that there seems to be a huge interest in Victorian death photography or memento Mori.
tons of videos , so it seems like Victorian photography is all about dead children.
fortunately, or unfortunately, however you see it, a great many of the memento Mori pics on RUclips are not even actually memento Mori.

@@ruthshelton1924 correct but it was an obviously deceased person. They didn't pose them or paint on their eyelids to make them look alive. People assume a photo with a child with closed eyes is PM, when in fact it was easier to photograph small children as they slept. Look on eBay and see what the asking price is for the "standing corpse" photos. And people have no problem paying for a fake PM photo because they refuse to believe they are just myths.
