I co-sign this statement. Being on Lockdown all the days kinda dwell together, but when I realise it's Thursday I automatically think; "New Reliving the War later!"
Apparently it was Savio who encouraged him with the in ring mind games, getting Dustin to rub himself on him so Savio could mug it up as disgusted to the crowd Not many guys would do that for someone else's career Two of my all time favourites
I was really hoping you'd highlight the "little bit of the bubbly" line. Also, the shot of Pillman's face when he looks into the camera still breaks my heart all these years later.
This is my daughter and I 's Thursday afternoon tradition! She's 2 but we love watching together and then we have fun playing with the old action figures! Keep up the great work
@@ComicBookGuy420 Dude, Dean Malenko was, and probably still is, SUPER-TALENTED! WCW made a huge mistake (among many others), by not pushing him any further than they did.

I'm watching these in succession because I watched the Monday Night Wars. I just realized that the two wrestlers fighting in the KOTR tournament are two wrestlers who injured Austin. Mero at the KOTR shortly after this and Owen at SS 97. Pretty crazy. Great job on these.
I remember watching Nitro that night because it was after GAB, and i saw that Eric had been put through the table so definitely tuned in that night and the spot that stood out from memory was Scott protecting Rick.
I've been watching these episodes of raw and Nitro ahead of time so I can know what happens. And honestly I think a big reason why Raw lost for 83 weeks was how thin the roster was especially in 1996. Like no one wants to see T.L. Hopper except Vince
Same here and thats what i noticed too. The WWE(F) tried to go young all at once and ended up with barely any recognizable talent. Things will get better in 97, albeit slowly. Im in september of 99 now and WCW has been getting spanked for awhile now
Wow. I just started watching this series at the point when The Outsiders made their debut and it’s really cool to see how much more emotion you put into these videos.
Absolutely love this series. Having flipped back and forth furiously back when these shows aired, it's cool to look back and remember everything that went on, not just the same highlights we always hear about. Love it.
I wasn't as into wrestling during this time as I was too busy with college. I have just a passing knowledge of what was happening back then. This series is FANTASTIC!! It's so much fun to see what was going on during this time. Thank you so much for putting this together!!
It’s been great watching his increasingly unhinged reactions to the Glacier vignettes! Keep it up my man - you bring our wrestling childhoods to life. Your channel rocks!
Dude!!! The narrating this week is so good, and damn funny. I love when you just go all in. More funny spots, please. Haha No really, this is my favorite weekly show, right now.
Highlight of every Thursday! It is always the first thing I watch when I have to catch up on my subscriptions due to work. Keep up the absolutely amazing work!
I almost forget how gawt damn good early Rey in WCW was. Early Austin is awesome to watch as well. This time in wrestling was just pure awesome. Nostalgia is at 100%.
The amount of time you put into this is crazy. I don't have time to watch half of it. I thought I was a Wrestling fan but nobody has anything on you. Respect 🙏
Man you rock…such dedication and hard work, great information setup and well assessed without making the viewer loose interest and that takes real talent and experience, enjoying every minute 🙏🏼
I’m pretty sure I’ve said this before but you have the best wrestling Channel on RUclips and frankly revisiting the war is amazing dude seeing these videos so often makes the work week seems like it just flys by thanks for the enjoyment man
Another thing that added to the Austin/Vega match was that they had just finished their feud a month prior, where Savio defeated Austin in a Caribbean Strap Match. This was the moment that sent Teb Dibiasi packing and allowed Austin to do his own thing.
I remember watching the Steve Austin-Savio Vega match and saw the first stunner I thought it was a old fashion jawbreaker and was surprised with the pinfall Little did we know
How the bell would you remember a meaningless non eventful fight that mattered nothing 25 years ago and you remember? You’re either a weirdo or lie about trivial things that don’t even benefit you at all.
Another excellent episode of Reliving the War, mate! I look forward to these every week. Thanks for the quality content.. keep it up. Greetings from New York state ✌
I’m just glad I watched both shows back then. Imagine only watching WCW for those 83 weeks in a row (starting from this episode). You would have missed the entire rise of Stone Cold Steve Austin and the origin of The Rock. What a time that was to be a fan of wrestling!
Great example of how and why Nitro was going to destroy RAW for a while. The Great American Bash was a fantastic event (for the reasons you mention, and I also think you undersold the Benoit/Sullivan brawl), and they followed it up with a great show and even more buildup of the nwo invasion angle. The WWF didn't really have anything going on, storyline-wise, outside of HBK (feud with Camp Cornette) and the Undertaker (simultaneous/alternating feuds with Mankind and Goldust). Austin's KOTR promo was legendary, but they didn't really do anything noteworthy with Austin until the Bret Hart feud kicked off in October.

I like the Arsehole Man.....but Glacier is slowly turning the tide.
The "Glacier" thing worked... for the proverbial moment. It was definitely overshadowed by a force that was much bigger, and much better...the nWo!
i liked the resident evil 4 salesman joke
The best bit is where big bubba starts calling out glacier.. pretty sure thats coming up in the next week or two.

The best worker, second to none.
Future world champion for sure🤣
After awhile, though, the whole "Glacier" thing melted away. Glacier had some success, but....
That is one of the greatest Flair Flops of all time. Holy sh*t, Ric Flair was such a great professional wrestler.
