Im 42yrs old and Dire Straits made me want to learn how to play guitar. Started playin on an acoustic that was given to me at 11 and my father bought me a Red Strat when I was 13. Thank you David for being an inspiration through music!
Interesting. I'm 44 and Dire Straits inspired me as a 11 yr old. I started to play guitar and the fingerpicking style was for me!! 😀 Great song this Jericho. I believe we can speak with boldness, so that the walls will come down. Slip the name of...hmm it starts with J..in between😀
Absolutely beautiful rendition of a truly great song. I just can't get enough of this song. This track and Nickels and Dimes are my live show favorites. Always a proper DK/HB show opener track. The lyrics keep changing every year with new album titles being added here and there and this is another superb thing about this particular song. It would be great if you can post a tutorial of how to play the song properly with introduction to chords and finger picking technique you use to play it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Keep rocking.

Nice. After years pissing about with millions of instruments and samples, I think it's refreshing to hear just a guy and his guitar, and I find myself heading the same way. I always sort of assumed you left DS because you were out-played, out-sung and out-songwritten. Clearly, I was quite wrong in that, so belated apologies for the presumptive bullshit.
