I moved to Germany 7 years ago and I have accomplished many of my dreams - I speak German at C1 Level, I have gotten my citizenship, I have a driver’s license, I earn a good salary and starting the process of buying my flat. I feel many times discouraged about remaining in Germany due to family members in other countries telling me how terrible it is here in Germany and the great opportunities there. This video was really positive and a good reflection time for me. Thank you
Thanks for sharing your journey and achievements 🤩 The thing about other people's opinion who are not living your life or in the country you chose is that it is shaped by media. Media never paints the picture of what life really is like.
I like people throwing positive energy around, that's why I like watching your videos It's quite important for people starting life in Germany (or in life in general) to surround yourself with positive people. Love you guys
I just started watching a couple of videos from your channel and I found all your advices and tips from previous videos super interesting, but this one just blowed my mind. It touched me deeply…. I’m moving to Germany for working on December and I was planning bringing my belonging, stuff, everything but I never thought about “the attitude”. A deeply and sincere THANK YOU!
I stumbled upon your channel last week and did a binge over the weekend, including the video about how you met. You’re both wonderful people. I live in NYC, been to Berlin three times since 2016, traveled all over Germany in 2019 and plan to spend my first Christmas there. I definitely want to visit Dusseldorf now! Anyway, you are both fantastic so thanks for your informative, charming videos.
I appreciate your message. My whys and goals here in Germany are certainly less intense than any person in the video, present or mentioned. You reminded me of them, nonetheless.
the intention to integrate in society, accept the culture and embrace it is essential !! if you're immigrating to a country you should do that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
absolutely love and respect you guys!! thank you for sharing all the inspiring stories!! i'm doing my B1 now with similar goals in mind, and hoping for the best by doing my best and keeping my attitude and passion at high levels!!
This is the best video I have ever watched in RUclips. This one is totally coverage my dreams. Thank you so much to share this with all of us. Thanks for the experiments. This means a lot to people who wants to come to Germany and live in there. ❤❤
This comes at an important time for me. Moving across the ocean with no support is daunting, but you make it so easy to see. Vielen Dank for another insightful video!
Couldn’t agree more, I’m at the point you mentioned in the end, reevaluating everything, the important thing is to keep optimistic no matter the choice
From Vietnam, I have been applying to tons of companies in Germany but have received no offer at all to process my Visa. Today, I feel hopeless and very sad but watching your video keeps me moving. Thank u so much :3.
Have you adapted your application to German standards? It is very unlikely that you will get a job if applying with the standards and mindset of how it is done in your home country.
Hi Jen and Tvonne, nice to see you again. I am living in Germany now and I am from Sri Lanka. I would like to play adventurous sports, such as hiking, shooting, cart racing, and so much more. Please make a video on finding such events, places and more details to participate. Thank you very much.
We are so happy to hear that your move to Germany was successful 😊 To be honest, all of the activities mentioned highly depend on your area. You can google GoKart + your city etc. For hiking, we use the app Komoot to find nice trails 😊
Good tips ❤🙏🏻 as a Venezuelan living in the US for 7 years I can confirm that you need to integrate and embrace the culture of the country that is receiving you in order to get a better life. Keep up with the good videos guys. Hugs from Connecticut 🇺🇸🤗
@@simplegermany I love your channel since I discovered 2 months ago. I went to Germany 🇩🇪 to visit last April/May I only visited Freiburg which it was a beautiful city. But I’m seriously considering in the future maybe explore an opportunity maybe in Germany. I work in a Lab over here. And Also I’m trying to learn German. I really like the language and their culture. 🤗🙏🏻 un Abrazote para ambas. 🤗
I am a dental professional. I have been here for over one year in Germany. I am actively learning the local language while working part-time, which presents challenges due to the language barrier.
Oh my god! I can't believe I missed meeting you guys in person. I am Premjith Prakasan, or simply Prem, living in Germany with my wife and son for about three years. I got my second job at a Mannheim based company and still work remotely because we don't want to miss our life in Düsseldorf. Although we don't have many friends here, we are very fond of this city. I am always a follower of your content and wish you all the best for your future videos and continued success in your journey! Looking forward to meeting you both in the future along with my family. Have a great day!
This video is so true! I´ve been in Germany for over a year now and my goals are the same as they were 7 years ago when I decided to move here and started to learn the language. To have a better life quality and a career where I have a decent salary (compared to the same position in my home country). My latest small victory to achieve these goals was to get a German driver´s license, which I succeed in June.
Hey Airton, thank you so much for sharing and big congrats on your German license - that is indeed a massive achievement! 🥳 Thank you also for always spreading good vibes and sharing your perspective. We love to see your comments with your smiley picture 💜

Loved this video ❤ a huge thank you to you two! I live in Neuss, not that far from Düsseldorf and you officially convinced me to join the Social Melting Pot! Do you know if an invitation is mandatory? Hopefully not 🥲 hugs and kisses from an Italian fan of yours, leaving nearby 😄
Hi a quick question from a big fan, I am a Polish-German citizen and I want to move to Dusseldorf where I have some family. I know some German (mid B1) but I feel like every job offer require fluency. Do you have any ideas which big corporations in the Dusseldorf/Cologne and the area that could look for someone? I have a lot of experience in finance (big international banks)
We have compiled a list of over 100 companies hiring in English - however, most of them are in the Tech industry or department as elsewhere German is often a requirement. You can find the list here: www.simplegermany.com/100-companies/ We also know a Smoothler community member who reached B2 German in 2 years and now actually works in the city council of her town - anything is possible if you put your mind to it 😊
Hi there, would you mind sharing the procedures of inviting a family member for a short stay? Am not sure if you already have discussed it here...many thanks!
My (Jen) family doesn’t need a visa to visit the EU as a tourist, so we’ve never gone through that process. If your family needs a tourist visa, then it’s best to contact the German embassy or consulate in the country where they live to find the requirements.
Try a different learning method if you lose motivation with your current one. Find the way that works for you. But most importantly you need to want it. If your mindset is not there, no learning or studying will get you anywhere. 💜
Hi, could you please just from your observation let me know that in which state is more no. of foreign doctors are moving to and competition is fierce, so that I can avoid those while applying… am a non eu doctor… is Bavaria a good choice?
Hi people 👋🥲 ! Please can someone help me ? I have 1 month without a job. Im from Albania 🇦🇱 . I have 8 months in Germany. But i have heard that if you lose your job u will get a fine from AOK for not paying the monthly health insurance. Is that true ? How it works
I think this video should have been named "The #1 Tip to MAKE IT in anywhere in the World" 👏👏👏❣
Very true 🤩

We got invited to it. It also exists in Cologne and Hamburg. It is called the Social Melting Pot 😊

Can you tell what actually made Düsseldorf so international for the past 12 years?
We have seen lot more companies hiring in English and international events.
🎉
are the new requirements for the opportunity card being released today?
can you please tell us more about your source for this information?
