  • This is a look inside the Smallest House in Britain located in Conwy, North Wales.
The Smallest House is just 72 inches wide and 122 inches high! It was first built in the 16th century and was inhabited until the 1900s.
If you can believe it the last tenant was a fisherman named Robert Jones who was 6 foot 3 inches tall!!
Eventually, the house became too small for him and he was forced out by the council. They then declared the house uninhabitable!
By complete coincidence, the property owner was also called Robert Jones and he bought the house for £20 in 1891.
Although no one lives here anymore, the smallest house in Britain is still owned by Robert's descendants.
They gave it the red lick of paint and now run it as a popular tourist attraction in Conwy.
Thousands of tourists visit each year and tickets cost just £1 to enter. You may have to queue as only a few people can fit at a time!
It has since been verified as the Smallest House in Great Britain by the Guinness World Book of Records.
I hope you like this mini-tour inside the Smallest House in Britain!

My Grandma Sarah( Sally) Jones was born in 1894 and the little house was her uncle’s.

WOW that's so cool your grandma knew the house back then! :) It would have been great to see it. I think it is well preserved but it must of looked quite different before they made it a tourist attraction!

Was it true that he lived with his mother in the same house?

How come you got the grammar correct when you said "it would have been great"
But not in the later sentence.
      "must of looked"
      That sentence doesn't make sense.
You still need to use the contraction must've or must have in that sentence too.
I know when people speak it sounds like it could be the word "of" but that word in there doesn't make sense whatsoever.
      We are hearing the contraction
      Must've, could've, should've, I've, you've. Etc.

I couldn't believe that the owner of this tiny house bought it for £20 only in 1891. Today, his descendants are running the property as a popular attraction, charging £1 per person. The tiniest house in GB is one of the smartest "old money" real estate investments I've ever heard.

Is there a toilet and wash room in there?

    • @ThirdEyeTraveller
      @ThirdEyeTraveller  2 года назад +9

No! Back in those days they had a wash basin and a pee pot 😂 or an out house! Probably why it was deemed unfit for human habitation! It’s funny to think that it wasn’t so long ago that families lived like this. It was only when Prince Albert reworked the sewer systems in the U.K. that families got their own toilets :)
