Indeed it can be very useful to have a model who can also think as a photographer and then hear out their input, as they also probably have their own idea of a portrait that could work. More than likely it will lead to one or two great (spontaneous) ideas during the shoot. I loved the shots through the glass, I think I too will experiment with this in a future shoot.
I like your vibe. Maybe that's crude, but the honesty you serve about being pessimistic/heavy in the mood. Somehow its very very refreshing to listen to.
The thoughts of having difficulty being a productive member of society making a living instead of nurturing your craving to create and explore curiosity. That is very relatable, at least to me, but to many creatives I would guess.
What a badass shoot. Love the aesthetic with the glass. Great model too! You guys came up with some very interesting and striking images together. Good team! 👏🏻
"Most of those self generated ideas are actually garbage, and you dont know until you try" Won't find gold without digging. And buying it is just not the same.
Hey thanks @billtotolo. I processed all these images in Dehancer. I don't always, because it's more work that way. I also do Jpegs straight out of camera a lot, or just Raw with minimal tweaks in Lightroom sometimes. I'm pretty inconsistent with my processing. But Dehancer is outstanding if you're going for a film look. I reviewed it a while back, and they gave me a promo code. Don't know if it still works, but here it is, if you're interested: NICHOLAS for a 10% discount www.dehancer.com/store/photo/pslr
I'm sure you are aware, but since you were having the issues with the macro shots and using tubes, I wanted to suggest a Canon EF to RF adaptor. They are cheap, and work great for adapting your existing EF lenses to the RF mount. I'm still using an EF 35mm on my R5 with that adaptor, and it works as flawlessly as the native RF glass. On another topic, I just discovered your channel and really get what you are saying. Much of your experience with photography rings bells in my own journey and my want to do something unique and meaningful with a camera, not just to contribute to the noise. I've subscribed and can't wait to lean more on this philosophical level that you are on.
This is sooo deep. I think I get lost each and every time I watch one of your videos.
Very enjoyable to watch

Glass experiment worked very nicely. Keep up the good work.

I really like how you process your shots, very filmic.

Ha and the coupon-cops with nothing to do, need to show their value by harassing people that actually have ambition.
