And he is a very handsome young man gorilla! It sounds a strange thing to say, but some gorillas have very, well, not so handsome faces. But that's because Momo and Genki are both "handsome" gorillas.
This is probably true. Gentaro seems lonely to me as well. He and Kintaro play well often together, but rare has any good family interaction with Momo or Genki. Does Gentaro have to leave? I guess he would have to, to have a family of his own some day. Momo would certainly not let Gentaro mate with another female if one were brought there. It will be interesting to see how this all works out. I would be very sad to see Gentaro leave but would follow him wherever he goes if I could!
From what I understand Gentaro is owed by another zoo which I assume there is will he will be able to have a mate and start a troop There are only so many females he can be matched with over in Japan due to the blood line. Anne is currently a possible mate for him. I wish some how they can bring him to the USA to form a troop here. He will be a beautiful silverback. Along with Kiyo I would love to see him here as well.
I wish that could be the case but unfortunately I feel the zoo that owns him would not give him up that easily. I think there is still a possibility of him remaining with his family for a couple of more years. He still has some maturing to do but he will be ready when the time comes. I love these animals. They are so smart. And trulyexpress feelings. I would love to see him when he does become a silverback with his own wives and kiddos. I will always want them in the USA that would be amazing for him and Kiyo to come here.
@@karenthompson8151 You are right. He is still quite young, 12 I think, just turned into and adult - gorilla-wise. We will just have to follow along to see where he ends up and hopefully we can follow him there too. I love them too. They are so interesting to watch too and to learn of their behaviors.
I feel if he didn't have Kentaro to play with, he would be left, He has very little bond with his Mother and absolutely none with Momo, sending him the biggest hugs, hope he gets a mate that adore's him and great little family unit of his own xxxx

@@stevemorris6790 I thought awhile back that the Chiba Zoo was going to do some renovation on their property which houses 2 separate gorillas..as Chiba Zoo owns Gentaro...I don't know if anything has progressed, but they won't be stuck in Kyoto...they barely have enough room for the 4 of them now. Shabani's habitat would be good, but they'd have to house/rotate the 2 families if he goes there.

Se o Chiba Zoo ( tem direito de propriedade sobre Gentaro) ou outro Zoo do Japão não se habilitar, Annie e Gentaro serão enviados para outros países. Embora pequeno, o Kyoto City Zoo preza pelo bem estar físico e psiquico dos animais sob sua responsabilidade. Há grandes zoológicos dos quais não se pode dizer o mesmo.
@@liafigueiredo3708 not super sure of that...I saw an emaciated lion there on a Fbk post dated 2 yrs ago. Other videographers showed extremely small cagesin this zoo for big cats....it was heartbreaking and I will never look at that channel again. While many here are soley focused on the gorillas, I care for ALL animal species in zoos.

C'est fou à quel point je déteste GENTARO ! il est tellement vicieux et méchant, il attaque sa mère GENKI sans aucune raison, il la frappe avec des objets, la pousse, il trouve toujours le moyen d'être désagréable ! Je peut comprendre qu'il change, il devient adulte, mais il est détestable quand même ! J'aimerais tellement que son père MOMOTARO lui en foute un bonne raclée !😜 mon rêve ! 😜😂🤣😉 👍🏼🤟🏼

Gentaro usually seems to have a lot on his mind. Very intelligent fella.

I could be completely wrong, but I'm thinking (at least right now) that when they take Gentaro away, Genki is not gonna be a happy mama!

I think Gentaro got short changed in the bonding depth. With his parents due to his start in life. 😔
I feel bad for Gentaro...I also think Kintaro would be devastated not having his brother around...
去年末の誕生日記念動画の中で、“キンタロウに対してはゲンタロウほど、過保護ではない”と、飼育員さんも言っていましたが、本当にそうですよね。もちろん、一人遊びもよくしていましたが、すぐ、ゲンキの側に行って抱っこされたり遊んだり。長男と次男の違いですかね🤔未だにお母さん子ですよね、一人立ち出来るのか、心配になるほどです。ゲンタロウ、急いで大人にならなくてもいいよ。まだ子どもでいさせてあげたいな。
