    He touches on some good points but the whole “value your time” message is diluted by the fact that this video is totally unedited.
    Also, I think the vision side of things needs to be more than “I want to save the world” bc it’s too open ended. One version is “I want to be like my hero”

    Second time in two episodes I've heard mention of trying to get that dividend type of return from the project after the fact instead of typical payments. I think wise moves like that are some of the things that help people grow from being Self-Employed/Owner to Investor. How would a deal like that look for a solo designer doing residential work? Is it only possible in big commercial opportunities? Great show!

      Good question. For single family residential it would be tough, but could work with a duplex or 4-plex project, especially if you are the developer.

    FYI, McDonalds is not in the business of burgers, its in the business of real-estate. Watch The Founder with Micheal Keaton. There's some interesting business dynamics in the movie that Architects could benefit from.
