11:46, this is actually false. In MIB 3 after K had been erased from history, J's new partners designation is AA. So basically they just start again with the extra A at the beginning. An example being AA, AB, AC, AD and so on.

    • @Alpha121198
      @Alpha121198 4 года назад +12

Which in of itself is also very strange because there were definitely enough agents by the time J was recruited to have gone through the entire alphabet. Why was he designated J and not something further down the chain, had the previous J died? Are the A.Agents transfers from other MIB installations given a prefix as an identifier? Was this simply a movie that was meant to be a one-off originally that didn’t really intend to delve deep into the administration workings of the MIB in subsequent media?!

I used to love this show growing up. Back then, most cartoons were just dumbass shooter, strongman in tights fighting a bad guy, brainless adventure. I liked the subterfuge of expectation, the wacky alien sub cultures etc. Which isn't much of intellectual narrative but was better than almost any of the trash on tv that treated you like a mentally handicapped shrew just because I was a kid. Kids aren't idiots, they want plot and intrigue as much as any adult. Really pissed me off back then and now I totally understand kids that want that now.

To me, the best part of the MIB cartoon was the theme song. The rest of the show was just endless riffs on the first movie: exploding head guy, tiny alien in human robot, J shoots tiny gun that blows him backwards, the car transforms, the aliens that drink coffee, etc. Those things happened almost every episode.

What little I remember of this series, I remember fondly. This series also had a tie-in video game on PlayStation 2! Now THAT deserves a Caravan of Garbage.
Or the MIB PC game based loosely on the first movie.

Continuing the success of Columbia Pictures' blockbuster film Men in Black, the animated series sees the return of Agents Kay and Jay. Distinguished by their dark black suits and sunglasses, the agents continue to guard earth protecting the scum of the universe.
I remember watching this series back when it premiered in 1997 during Kids WB's infancy and I've watched it progressively become worse and ran for 4 years. The show began decently enough - re-establishing the partnership between Agent J and Agent K that made the movie so memorable. The voice actors, particularly Keith Diamond as Agent J deliver their lines admirably. The writing was and still is relatively top-notch, with a healthy dose of humor. I used to watch it after "Superman: The Animated Series" and before "The New Batman/Superman Adventures" (later preceed by Pinky and the Brain and later Batman Beyond) on Kids WB Saturday mornings. I am HUGE fan of the Men In Black movies and I think "Men in Black: The Series" was a good continuation to the movies. In the cartoon version, Agent Kay (the Tommy Lee Jones character in the film) was back as a member of MiB, still partnered with Agent Jay (the Will Smith character).
The rest of the series is extremely flawed. While the character designs are okay, the colors are extremely drab and lifeless,
VERY characteristic of Sony animation. The soundtrack just drones on, particularly the monotone theme. Danny Elfman's movie score is WAY better. Heck, they even brought over an instrumental version of Will Smith's catchy but forgettable rap song "Men in Black" that played during the closing credits. Why couldn't they use the original movie theme? But the soundtrack is the least of the series' problems.
While the series does right to bring back Agents J, K and Elle as well as Zed, some of other character additions are questionable. The Worms? They were mildly funny break room puppets in the arcade, but their squeaky voices and
obsession with coffee in the series is definitely pushing it. It wouldn't be half as annoying if they didn't build ENTIRE EPISODES around them. Jeeves? Maybe, but if he keeps selling contraband to alien terrorists, why doesn't he get arrested? The head-shrinking thing was funny just once. Frank the Pug? Why?
The show fails to be fully faithful to the movie - it seems like the MIB shoot first and ask questions later in the animated series. As a result, the slick image of the MIB from the movie is totally lost. Sometimes it's a wonder that they blow so many things up and get into firefights and are never noticed.
The new characters are just plain bad. Agent Elle's partner Agent X is just terribly annoying. Elle was way better as a lab
technician. And what's up with her personality shift? She's gone from the cool personality in the movie and up until season five to a crazy hothead. Even more annoying is the over-happy new alien lab technician. Someone should blast that moron with a noisy cricket.
Men in Black: The series may be decent enough for little kids, but for older viewers, it's certainly a far cry from Batman: The Animated Series. While is does try to add some coherent continuity and decent storylines, it's extremely disappointing for fans of the movie like me and cartoon enthusiasts.
This was a pretty awesome show think it had the same artist and writers of The Real Ghostbusters (season 3), Alf: The Animated Series/Alf Tales, Starcom: The U.S. Space Force, Dennis the Menace (season 2), C.O.P.S., Alvin and the Chipmunnks (seasons 6 & 7), The Simpsons (seasons 3-31), The Critic, Jumanji: The Series, King of the Hill, Extreme Ghostbusters, Men in Black: The Series, Godzilla: The Series, Futurama, Heavy Gear: The Animated Series, and Dragon Tales series.
This show is a.k.a. MIB: The Series, MIB: The Animated Series, and Men in Black: The Animated Series.
This show is based on both the early 90s Malibu Comic (which itself was bought out by Marvel Comics) by Lowell Cunningham and the hit 1997 Sci-Fi comedy blockbuster starring Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.

That clip of the motion capture with Jackie Chan was for the video game "Jackie Chan Stunt Master" a very underrated game, that I loved. The cartoon series was great too but certainly did not use any motion capture for the animation.

The series’ theme was composed by series composer Jim Latham. An instrumental version of Smith’s “Men in Black”, written by Smith, Patrice Rushen, Terri McFadden and Freddie Washington that served as the movie’s theme, was used as the show’s closing theme over the credits and mug shots of various aliens. The series ran for four seasons (1997 to 2001), expanding to also include reruns on weekdays. The fourth season (2000 to 2001) received a slightly modified intro to incorporate the new characters introduced.
