    Gotta love a Selby vs Ronnie. I think Selby requires the absolute best from the high scoring players and pushes them to also shine on the safety battles. Think what you want but Selby is one of the best ever to play, and his mental resilience is just unbelievable. And I love when Ronnie is in the mood to win and playing the game solidly.

    • @fairplayer7435

      I am very sorry about Selby's state of mental health at the moment. I think this particular match did not help him at all.

      @@fairplayer7435 If his problem was a lost snooker match (Which he won the worlds the year after) I think he'd be in great shape. Guy had a rough childhood. That's a lot worse than a lost game.

      Selby has always been one of the weakest players on the circuit when it comes to the mental side of the game, he's surprisingly fragile considering what he's achieved. Hendry has pointed it out several times that he practically needs family members in the wings, often looks up at them after shots too much as well almost like a comfort blanket. Heck, even with no audience during the pandemic he's got his wife into the arena for emotional support. That's weakness right there on display.

    • @feroxk.9266
      @feroxk.9266 2 года назад +3

      @@kaneda010 mental problems are no weakness. those people are stronger than most as they went through hell and still made it.
      Ronnie has had the same issue as well as temper tantrums, don't forget this.
      Don't ever call those people weak.

    It was an unforgettable day of snooker and I think that was the most exciting finish to a match in years. Selby's escape and resnooker on the final red was probably the best pressure escape ever played. Ronnie's match ball, the best pressure pot to win a match. An unbelievable clash of two snooker titans! Looking forward to this year's world championships...

      Yep, I noticed that too. Ronnie has learnt from past matches against the likes of carter and ebdon that has was a bit predictable, changing up his style really screws with mark. As a player myself it frustrates the hell out of me when my opponent goes to snail mode.
