    I've grown Thanksgiving cacti steadily since 2018. I never had any luck getting them to bloom until this past winter. In late January of this year I started noticing buds. I was excited that I had gotten these plants to bloom since I've never had any luck. I went online, discovered some plant colors I liked and bought some cuttings. They all grew excellently. They summered in the carport getting morning light. When I brought them into the house a couple of weeks ago, many of them had buds. In fact, one or two of the plants will be blooming this week. I supplied shortened days and cooler temperatures by putting them into the back room of the house where the laundry room is. The downside of this is I literally have Thansgiving cacti growing me out out house and home.

    Great video thanks! For the water propagation method I've used a comb laying across the top of a bowl of water. Stick multiple fiattened stems between the teeth. A trick I'm going to try next is to cut out a flattened piece of styrofoam making it the container size. This will float on the water. Slice slats along the edge of the styrofoam and wedge your segments unto those. This method would ensure the correct water level in the roots at all times. Love your videos. Thanks again.

    How do you prevent the stem of the cactus from becoming "woody" and drying out? I have had two plants do this. In both cases, the stem eventually sheered off as if cut with scissors. Thanks. Just subscribed.

    • @plantvibrations
      @plantvibrations  10 месяцев назад

      It sounds like if you've had the plant for awhile, that it is simply creating a woody base. that is totally normal. if you don't like the way it is growing in, you can remove it and it will quickly fill back out by the end of next summer
