Ok, now that assassin thing is just stupid!! If you are caught by an assassin from an air assassination, you should be desynchronized, not just get up and chase after him, to then be shot!! Absolute stupidity. When you play as an assassin, you can air assassinate anyone with ease but as soon as you play a Templar, the assassins are just underpowered. Silly.
I agree, throughout the whole game series the assassins have been badass fighters but now they are weak just so some 10 year olds can complete the game
relax guys unity will have new mechanics. For example better strealth and also you will not wait your enemy to attack you so you can counter him and kill him with one move,You will have to do combo moves when you have the chance and block the enemy's attacks when it's needed. It will also have boss fights so you wont kill the high priority targets so easy like the normal enemies.
Littlebigun99 Some 10 year olds could always complete these games. The only one that was actually slightly challenging was AC1 towards the end. And it seems this game will have the same combat system as AC4 which requires no skill with its slowed down counter windows that actually disrupt the flow of combat.
Eftihis OP I know all there is about Unity and I cannot wait for it!! But Rogue is looking disappointing so far.
Littlebigun99 Well I agree with you about the assassins being under powered, Ubisoft has under powered them WAY too much; to the point where the Assassin's aren't interesting any more. I believe that began with AC 3. But I'll still try it. But the air assassination method I can understand, especially for new players that haven't played AC. If the AA was an instant kill, I'd be frustrated though. Besides, the mechanic takes ALOT of Shay's health away, so it's not that bad. But I do like how this works though, your attacking a "gang" hide out(Since the assassins are thugs now), and amputating the assassin's forces. I'm really liking this.
I'm predicting the ending - We're the assassin - We're corrupted by Templar's and switch sides, do some killing, kill a few important assassins, question some assassins and Templar's - Figure out we're wrong and switch back to an assassin
He said no to assassin's he died as templar 🗡️
Cannot be bothered with this game, it is just a re - skin of ac4. And *WHY THE HELL ARE YOU PLAYING AS A TEMPLAR IN AN ASSASSINS CREED GAME??!!* I play AC because i love the assassins, and the brotherhood, and it is an amazing and interesting plot, so why the hell would you make the main character a templar??!! You have slightly ruined the whole of ACs reputation for me. Im just going to stick with the old Assassins creeds, they were the best, ubisoft dont make them like they used to anymore :( might have a look at unity though, it looks amazing
I think this is a point in history when the assassins lost their way, as you can see with the gangs. And the templars ideals made sense.
this does look like a re-skin though, would only play for story really
Bit of an oxymoron there: "ubisoft don't make them like they used to" however, "unity does look amazing".
You do realise you already played as a Templar in AC3, AC4 (out of the animus) and Edward was never even an assassin so shut the fuck up
i love the concept you know it feels different. Why everything has to be the same?Yeah the michanics are the same as ac4 but who cares?I love that they approach different ideas and the betrayal is always one of the best.
We need more Assassin's Creed where you play as a templar
"Move around freely and fluidly"
right after he says that the assassin gets stuck on the barrel LOL
Couple things.
One: Seems like Shay's armor is the same armor that is locked away in the pirate cove, and is later donned by Edward.
Two: Haytham! Which makes me want to believe Connor is in Unity. ;3
Three: I'm kinda afraid that this will be a more expensive DLC for AC4 than anything. But, time will tell.
Looking forward to it! :D
2007: Fight for your honor!
2009: Fight for revenge!
2010: Fight for your Brothers!
2011: Fight for your understanding!
2012: Fight for your people!
2013: Fight for your loot (and friends, too)!
2014:Fight for Peace!
2014: But don't forget to kill all the Assassins along the way. c:
The assassins in this look freakin awesome.
Why is everyone saying that this is AC Black Flag recycled? This is in a completely other time range, and a completely other story. I think the idea of playing an Templer (and probably visiting some familiar places) is pretty nice. If you don't like it, you should stick with AC Unity. Good work, Ubi :)
Finally, a worthy opponent. Someone who doesn't just attack and waits until we kill them one by one...
So is this another full game or is it something similar to Assassin's Creed Liberation?
This is just a DLC in the form of a new game... Every mechanic is the same as AC4... its like brotherhood all over again
Brotherhood had new combat.
Go play ac2 then play brotherhood, there are very clear differences in the mechanics unlike this game and ac4. Rogue is literally dlc for ac4
The Flamebolt Oh, come on. They've just shown a lot of differences in this video. The naval battle mechanics have changed, we also can fight assassins, and they do seem harder to kill. Also, you can't completely dismiss the story, AC's story is always interesting.
Dude there is absolutely no change in the naval mechanics, were you not watching? They've added a new feature where enemies can now board your ship, that's a new feature. That hasn't changed the mechanics of naval combat. Compare AC3's naval mechanic with AC4's - that's a change in mechanics
Was brotherhood not an amazing game though? No so shut up, if you don't like it go away, I think this looks great
LoL at people who think this should have been AC4 DLC.
Freedom cry had less features than AC4 main story. This is a whole game, with new story and locations. It ties up the Kenway story also. How big would you expect a DLC to be? I think it looks awesome. And I don't have a ps4/xbox one, so I wouldn't expect something like unity.
as a true fan of the series, i must say i feel sorry for those who will pay 60 bucks if not more for this,,,,,shame on you ubisoft, its has never been more clear that you guys have to take time to do these games,,,this is just shit, i will play it because im a fan, but i feel like this is just too much....its a shitty version of black flag....thats all it is....
Complaining and calling yourself a fan.yeah it looks like AC4 and it looks amazing to me and they already push the limits of the last gen consoles it is 8 years old hardware what you wan't a better gameplay and graphic go play unity and true fans don't complain I am happy we are going to see haytham again and maybe adewale and story looks promising and even the ost sound amazing.
Why did the dude say in the fort of the assassin is a collection of lawless-criminals it make me wander I played a bad guy in the past assassin's creed games
Its showing the other side of the coin, we all been thinking that assassins are these great people because we been playing them for the past 6 games but now rogue is going to show us the assassins through the eyes of a Templar, also shay was an assassin until a mission went wrong so the assassins try to kill him, if you was part of an organisation and then who you once called brothers try to kill you because a mission went wrong well you be pretty pissed off too like wtf don't blame me, all will be explained so don't judge a game by a couple of trailers
then what would be the point of having 2 franchises that are practically the same, just 1 side is good and the other is bad, this is what rogue is going to do, going to show if there is really a good side or bad side. Templars and Assassins have the same cause but it is what they do to reach it is what makes them enemies. We idolise the assassins because we been playing them for the past 6/7 games it is a nice change to play on the other side and see their side of the story for once and this doesn't mean that it will be a regular thing playing Templars in all future ac games. Why idolise a fictional group when Templars were real and still exist in real life, I was even a real Templar myself for a little while until I left for not having the money to pay to make it official
multisturge assassins were real too, actually (just sayin') [ assassin, from the arabic hashishin, which means "a user of hashish" ]
Is that haythem kenway next to him?
Yes they said it in another video
yup
Joseph Randall Fuck yeah! Haytham is awesome!
Noooooo.... It's just some asshole that dresses like some British guy... Of course it's him lol
Dont know why people are whining about this. It looks pretty sweet to me.
Really love that outfit and the new features. Also that's Haythem on the boat at the start right?
To the people who say it should be AC4 DLC what did you expect from AC rouge to be better AC4 push the limit on the last gen consoles and the game looks amazing I can't wait to play it.
I don't know what people were expecting from AC Rogue... They never pretended that it would be a whole new gaming experience, Unity is the main release, Rogue is just basically DLC for those who can't afford next-gen. This was even said back when this was called "AC Comet", when Unity pictures were being leaked and speculation was beginning.
Truly interesting. Im an Assassin fan through and through, still i cant help but to be excited for this.
I'm getting both ACU AND ACR. They both look amazing!
Am I the only one who is more interested in playing as a templer in this game than just another assassin? It's an interesting idea, and I think it's going to work well. Also I can imagine taking down those pesky, but more intelligent enemies(the assassins) is going to be so much more satisfying.
I love making use of captive appli Companion in ACIV. Do you intend to repeat the dose in Unity and Rogue?
So why have the changed the combat in unity but not rogue?
Rogue runs on an old engine.
Rogue is basically an edited version of Black Flag.
MrScootycz Unity and Rogue are both running on the Anvil Next Engine. The difference is the console specs and in game mechanics. There is no new engine. AC III was the first running on it.
I thought they had something new for Unity, my bad.
Master L3K5 unity has a new engine -_- ac:rogue has the old one
Nice framerate, Ubisoft.
The game is still in Progress they still have 3 month until the release.
k skinox b-but they'll fix it!
ubidrones are so pathetic. enjoy that cinematic 0.5 fps nigga :)
Because Unity is sooooo gonna be above 30 fps on your so-called "next-gen" consoles, lol.
Matthew Mishevski Well then what's the point in mocking the famerate, if it's the same in Unity?
k skinox lol dude are you srsly belive they will change anything? this game was a finished project about 7 month ago. they wont put any changes in this shit becuase its was a filler for the old consoles to make more money.... its a cheap projects.... nothing new
i don't care about what the haters say, this game looks fun. it will have an excellent story as always, and a nice wrap to the american ac storyline
That "assassin" is like 'hahahah catch me....catch me if you can :P'
Basically just a re-skinned AC4... Though the assassin enemy might be interesting... Though they should be way harder than that. I suppose that this one was just some low level assassin... I mean the game is supposed to be about hunting down assassins so I hope the more important targets will be harder than what this seemed.
Anyway... I'll probably get it just because I love AC and I want to experience the story, but I couldn't recommend this to anyone looking for improvements to the series...
totally agree hopefully it won't all be scripted events when in comes to hunting down the assassins cos I can imagine it being very repetitive...
Daniel Fynn Scripted sequences are usually better actually... The scripted events are the ones controlled by the pre programmed script; The potentially unique ones, because the developers can make it more interesting. What makes it repetitive IMO are the unscripted events that rely too much on the (bad) AI
I think i'm the only one that is happy with this. Yeah Unity is going to kick its ass but the gameplay of the arctic looked stunning and still fun. AC4 was really good fun so this will just add to it. I do hope that the price for this is less than unity though, but I doubt it.
I cant wait to pre order this on my PC looking forward to it!.
Quite like the look of this. I enjoyed the naval aspects from the last two titles. Not sure I can be tempted to dig my PS3 or 360 out of the closet though. I just don't have the space, or the desire to go back a generation. No matter how brief.
Might have to wait for the inevitable PS4/XBO digital release next year _(this does look like it was knocked out in 12 months though)_.
"We have improved the navigation make it easier to access high places and move around freely and fluidly" -adds a tree
I'm still excited for this game! It is not going to be as good as Unity, but I know that is going to be worth it!!! I don't have a PS4 yet, so I will just enjoy this good game, and when I have the "next gen" console, I will enjoy Unity!!! I'm a big Assassin's Creed fan, so I wanna play every game of this amazing franchise!
am I the only one who dont complain about the game framerate, graphics, gameplay, ETC. becausr im a REAL fan of the franchise (I apologize for my bad english)
Haters gonna hate but as someone who isn't going to get a next gen console anytime soon im going to get this. I like the idea of the Pneumatic Rifle its the blowpipe (non Lethal) and Rifle (longer ranged than the pistol and lethal) in one. I have two questions though, is it still an air rifle when you shoot bullets(silenced)? Also who's the guy to the right on the boat. (I know Hathems on the left but im pretty sure I've seen the other guy too and cant recognize him.)
Thank u very much for releasing assassins creed for old gen consoles and please do try to release ac unityfor them as well
Shay Patrick Cormac
I love the idea of a new story. The whole thing being told from a Templar's perspective is an interesting change. I think I'll be saving up for this one instead of Unity.
I like how they made sure to show that killing the assassin was no easy task.
I wonder if there will be a link to Rogue and Unity in the modern day like as you as the employee at Abstergo again and in the building you see the unity department when playing rogue and vice versa. Is Rogue part of the main story too I wonder or is it just like Liberation which is pretty much the same as AC3 but with a female assassin.
Wow. Props to the guys over at Ubisoft for making this game look exactly like black flag. I'm impressed.
Even though this is clearly just a big dlc, its cool to see. For those wanting a new, massive AC, go watch Unity.
The assassin just went to town on his ass but he some how survives and is able to kill him with a basic air assassination
Im a huge fan of ship sailing so this should be fun :)
why cant the parkour be like in ac unity -.-
It's impossible on last gen-hardware.
.
iBatzHD Meh, oblique angles are taxing on a CPU.
ScornMuffins
The only thing that makes Unity unachievable on last gen hardware are the physical crowd numbers. Everything else is pure last gen.
If the crowds didn't play such a large part in Unity, it could be easily downgraded for the PS3/360. Paris is no more or less impressive than all the other cities we've seen in the series, and the parkour itself in no different than previous games. In fact it appears identical.
ScornMuffins The gameplay of Unity has nothing to do with any gen.
Don't see why everyone is saying that this should be called 'templars creed', this is still an assassin's Creed with a twist the assassin turns bad, that's it
This is DLC for AC4, nothing more. Even the HUD is identical...
Bring this to PC
.
I really hope that they would make AC games much more punishing like many stealth games out there(ex:thief, dishonored).
The overall lack of challenges has always been frustrating in the AC series, and this one looks like it's going to have the same problem. Just look at that air assassination and you'll see what I mean. The game should be encouraging players to play stealthy, carefully, and punish them for not doing so. Shay should not be running like the juggernaut right after being stabbed in the neck, hell, he should be dead! Last time I checked, AC was a stealth game, but it hasn't played like one since revelations. We need more assassin-like(even if Shay's a templar) gameplay instead of superhuman characters shrugging off neck-stabs and explosions.
"In Rogue we have improved the navigation, making it easier to access high places and to move around freely and fluidly"
*Gets stuck between two barrels 5 seconds later*
I'm not one of these guys whose just hating on Rogue (I think it looks decent for a last-gen game that was made as a secondary to satisfy players who won't be able to play Unity), but c'mon, we can see the navigation is exactly the same as previous games, don't try to pull the wool over our eyes by saying fancy sentences that mean nothing.
Why would I want to murder the brotherhood? No in the name of Ezio and Altair I think I shall pass on this one. Why are the assassin's so....nerfed and weak? Ezio and Altair will be turning in their graves
All those complaining, just be thankful you "last gen" players are even getting a game. I thought it was nice of Ubisoft to do this
Is the guy with one from assassins creed speaking?
Menkizie Crook, i think. he was also the warg in game of thrones.
Its him, right?
This looks very good, and actually very tough. But there's no way this won't be coming to next gen. I'll wait for that.
I knew shay would one of the Templars responsible for nearly wiping out the Assassin's Brotherhood in the colonies. And with Haytham being seen in this video, that practically proved my suspicions since he was the mastermind behind the destruction of the colonial brotherhood. That was until Connor brought it back to life.
I personally dont think there is anything wrong with it. Keep in mind this is for people WITHOUT next gen consoles and is not the main focus of ubisoft. It is a revamped ac4 in a new setting with new characters a new setting and new features. Kinda sounds a lot like every assassins creed before it. Next gen will truly improve the series and where it can go but this is not for next gen if you have a next gen console still buy this along with unity both will be great for what they can work with
When I saw Shay get air assassinated I had a nerdgasm
I can't wait it looks epic only 15 more days to release
so, basically the forts from AC3 are back?
Why are people complaining about two AC games this year. Shut the f*** up. As long as the quality is consistent, I'll take all the AC I can get my hands on
The assassin's creeed games have gotten more impressive with every installment. Still i'm Sad there is no option for expert controls yet. The ability to have more control over actions such as jumping, wallrunning, climbing and maybe even rolling, would be a great addition for gaming enthusiasts. Please consider it.
I love how the giant rifle isn't even a gun its just the blowpipe retextured
Nothing has changed from AC4. Though they have changed his main weapon to cutlass and knife however animations are exactly the same as Edward with his dual cutlasses.
"the morrigan is more faster and maneuverable than the jackdaw allowing you to turn tighter and avoid enemy fire"
that's one way of saying we put cheatcodes on the ship to make it easy for you guys
This game should just be a DLC to Black Flag.
Клас, просто неймовірно, з нетерпінням буду чекати на нового асасина)
Is this a dlc ?
no
Coz it seems like ac5 :/
jakub bolcun
some AC games don´t have numbers and yet they are not DLC´s, for example Brotherhood, Revelations, Unity............
I know but the French Revolution one is coming out and fm nowhere that comes in?
jakub bolcun yea, the French revo is in Unity and comes out this October, Rogue this November.....if that is what u mean :D
I CAN'T BELIEVE you didn't even change the HUD crom AC4, a simple change like that would have made the game look completely different, stupidly lazy Ubisoft, I hate to say it but you deserve all these 'looks the same as AC4' comments.
Can't believe you didn't even take this opportunity to remove the ridiculous counter-killing that's ruined the combat system ever since AC1.
The only thing, and I repeat, the ONLY thing that looks different to AC4 is the story, which I love about the series, I will probably end up picking up this game for £20 next summer, i'm afraid it look like it's worth any more.
If you don't want to play a Templar, don't buy the freaking game. I personally can't wait to play this game because even though it is, Assassins Creed, having the lines blurred a little between good and evil will make it more interesting, there are good Templars and bad Assassins, if you can't bare the thought of a game not being totally straight forward on who is good and who is evil, then perhaps you aren't mature enough to appreciate the depth of the story in the series.
***** or +Assassin's Creed UK It's seems very good the framerate...But you probably have fixed it if you could and can you can improve the fight styles? that's just all. I will be happy to play this game.
This game is like a huge mix of AC3 and AC4
It's a shame that Shay doesn't have a hood , all he does is just pull up his collar in 2:32
At first i didnt like the idea of being a templar in assasins creed but i guess i would be interesting to see the templar point of view in all this
That's amazing, I'll really buy
I really want an old style AC game now, i think the best series is the Ezio series and i want something like that. Lots of buildings, high rooftops, underground tunnels and no more ships! Im tired of the boring land of ac3 and i want some old citys back. I really liked Firenze and Venezia
It seems this set in between sequence 3 and 4 of AC3. As it is mentioned by some characters in AC3 that haytham and the rest of the Templars had wiped out assassins.
Why isn't this game listed as being available for PC? Console controls are too finicky for me on these types of games - if the camera isn't JUST right, you ping off buildings backwards and die. It looks good and I want to play. :)
Shay gets killed by Achilles, I guarantee it.
Also, is that Haytham on the ship?
oh wow looks like this time you can press o while running and get down from heights wonder what else is new other than navigation and naval and weapons
this is basically a reskinned AC 4. I'm not complaining because that game was just terrific. I'm getting Unity, may pick this up too.
Not buying this Ubisoft. This should have been DLC for AC4.
The story's going to be longer then any dlc you've played before
Joe Kuta Well I suppose I over-exaggerated a bit.
Guys you're all moaning at how it is just like ac 4, but ac4 was the most an Xbox 360/PS3 could do, so what do you expect them to improve on? Ac unity is their main project at the moment anyway, so don't expect an entirely new game.
R.I.P Assassines Creed :(
Does it have a multiplayer?
Okay. This game look good. I'm not expecting anything new since this runs on an old engine. I didn't see much of the naval gameplay since I was more interested in land movement, but the new guns look kinda cool. The graphics do look slightly improved. It looks interesting the way they've made you use you're abilities to sense danger (Assassins). They could've made the climbing/running animations different because it's a new Character. I do like the double swords being back though. The gas mask is pretty cool. The AI is exactly the same. Dumb. Animations are the same. I may get this.
Wow.. AC Black flag had a makeover. Lovely change of map color and that is all thats changed
I'm very excited for both games.
I think this is going to be a great mix of 3 and 4 with lots of cool additions. Also possibly the most intriguing story so far. I loved black flags naval sandbox and am very happy to see them continue it. Just wish both were on PC. Ill be stuck playing this on ps3 which is the worst version haha. Still this looks very pretty for a last gen game. Im sure the ps3 one will look a bit worse though, every ac has looked and ran better on 360 than ps3
Oh, and the Templar has my name, albeit diff spelling haha
the game looks pretty solid as a standalone game...better ai, tools and improved naval battle, But not even a cinematic is shown? I really looks forward to the Story, especially Haytham is there...
I hope the AC developers still return to North America and use the War of 1812 and the American Civil War as their timeline
Does the collectors edition come with a model????
A tighter turning ship. Good, that's what I'm talking about.
AC V is going to be mind blowing then.
I wish they would redesign the sword play. I think the counter attack system only works if you are surrounded by a bazillion enemies but that only happened in AC 1 and when boarding the larger ships in black flag.
I have a few questions.....
1. Is this out?
2. If it isn't out, why advertise 2 AC games at a time?
3. If you think this is a question then you need to pay attention.....
What's that pinkish mist on the sides of the screen?
I don't know if I'm comfortable playing as an assassin gone templar. But if the Assassin Brotherhood is corrupt I'll fight. I wouldn't join The Templars though. I mean did you see what happened to Duncan Walpole?
But yeah sure I'll play it and enjoy it. As I did AC4 and AC3. Even though this looks like AC4, I'm sure the story Will make up for it.
***** I know.
The only reason why I'm getting it is because it merges the stories of ac3,ac4 and acu together.
he didnt talk about the guy spazzing out at 5:34
I'll probably only be picking this up for the story since it seems I already the game last year.
Do you put on your hood in AC Rogue?
I cant decide if this looks more like ac3 or ac4
It looks like AC4 with AC3 textures
For gods sake..
Such a huge number of improvements, the parkour in both black flag and AC3 were identical, but they were a bit clunky at times, it was possible to get stuck on the smallest things. But in rogue, they've improved the navigation. The combat looks better as well, my crew used to get in between me and my target way more then they should have. And probably the most notable difference is that shay has a huge arsenal of weapons in comparison to edward that had practically nothing new. So, in short. This game has improved
The naval mechanics
The parkour
The combat
The free running
and
The AI
And it has also created new mechanics for
Naval combat
The Combat
The parkour
The AI
And the free running.
"DIS IZ DLC!!!11!" No! This is what black flag should have been.
All that you mentioned are small improvements
Juli Oroza I'm guessing that Ubisoft Sofia didn't have the funding to make a whole new game set out, Assassin's creed 4 black flag is their newest game so they went with that layout.
