Holy Cow! Somebody saw your video and came and helped you get rid of that furnace? The internet is a fantastic beast
Yeah! That guy did me a kindness!!
I'm still in awe on how documented your life is
I decided it was important at an early age.
I'm glad your still here Paul. I think your awesome and I love that you are your self! Keep fighting depression when it rears its ugly head!
Great video! It's funny because even in the 80's it felt special as it was happening. It wasn't until the early 2000's that I missed the 80's.
Yeah. That's nostalgia! I feel like I did most of the important stuff in my life in the 80s and then nothing very important until 2006 or so. Those years seem kind of lost to me. I'm making up for it now though!
Heck ya, Cannonball Run. One of my all time favorites.
It's such a great comedy!
I actually have not one, but two questions for your next Q&A video! Here they are now:
1. Have you ever watched "The Ren and Stimpy show"? If so, what is your opinion on it?
2. Have you ever read the manga series "Attack On Titan"?
I am glad I grew up in the 80's before the internet. I got to experience 2 completely different worlds in my lifetime.
I feel the same way. I feel very lucky to be living in the exact era that I am.
The 80's were best... I remember recording Friday night videos, as did not have cable or MTV..for some reason, I vividly remember the night they premiered Owner of a lonely Heart by YES...don't know why...
Wow! That's a memory right there! I don't remember that one, but I did write in my journal a lot of the specific videos they premiered. I just saw where I wrote they premiered BLUE JEAN by David Bowie.
Dant dant daaaaah! Captain Chaos! Have no fear, "Him" is here. Good poem too.
haha, thanks!
Completely agree about the video arcades!
:)
nothing was better than 80s pbs shows . what was some of your favorite pbs shows fom the 80s
The 90's were good times for me an if I could go back I would in a heartbeat!!!! Not to say now is bad I just loved the 90's so much!!!!
That's great! I guess the only time I feel like is the BEST time for me is right now!
1984 for me, too! I had all those things and also got bullied. But it was a great year.
Sure was!
Paul, you are destined to be awesome!
haha, thanks Rick!
Great video and a lot of good questions. I definitely remember liking the 80's a lot more too. The only good thing about the 90's to me were getting 80's toys and video game hauls from thrift stores and flea markets which are difficult to find these days!
That's true, Dave! That stuff was pretty easy to find for awhile, now it's getting scarce!
Really cool of that guy to dismantle your furnace. We all appreciate the time you take to entertain us!
Totally!
Are you a fan of Queen?
The ‘80s were by far the best decade to be a teenager.
in the music video the 80s were one of the best era's ever never to be duplicated
I agree. A lot of the videos in the 80s were still being shot on video. Now they are all shot on film or made to look like they were shot on film. I think the ones that were shot on video look the best.
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL I agree the dirt and the degradation of film always makes it feel more like a real movie just like your youtube videos down on camcorder then transferred love the look and love your way you do your videos wish i had the time and equipment although I do have all of the above lol
your awesome Paul!
Thanks Mark!
That was so nice of your subscriber (I can't remember his name) to help you get rid of the old furnace. We love you man! If I lived closer I would help you too. Great video buddy!
Thanks Sage! He really did a helluva a job, that thing was SO heavy. He carried it all out of there. I've started putting shelves up where it was so I can store more stuff!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL
Awesome! That's cool you have the extra space now.
Need more...need new and updates for those of us just discovering your channel.
Oh and omg I was at that Milwaukee show! You were great that night! I feel stupid because I didn't realize you were that Weird Paul lol.
The 80s are awesome I was born in 81!!
\m/
I'm from the 90s, so I miss those years instead. But a lot of things, like cartoons I watched for example, were from the 80s. Ah... the nostalgia. Anyways, hope you can make more videos in the future!
Thanks Santana! Everyone has the special time in their life to look back on. I usually make videos about the 80s because I am qualified to do it! I have lots more videos coming up soon!
1:40 Kurt Cobain? Heh heh. 1984 ruled!!! So did Showbiz Pizza!
Yeah, take that George Orwell!
I miss the 80's. I had so much fun. There were some bad times too, but the good outweighed the bad.
I feel the exact same way...the good outweighed the bad.
You ARE the original vlogger!
I'm trying!!
HOORAY!!!
I think 1987 was my favorite year. Old enough to earn money, young enough to not have to be responsible with it.
The year I was old enough to earn money and young enough to not have to be responsible with it was 1990. But I was still pretty responsible with it!
"Drunk at Chuck E. Cheese's"
Can you provide a link? 😃
Watching your videos is like watching my brain downloaded. Algorithms got me here. Thanks for sharing so much.
I just found a weird paul vine compilation and I'd highly reccomend watching some of them to anybody that hasnt. Seriously funny as fock.
Vine is shutting down soon. But my vines will still be on RUclips!
I like the fact that you reply on most of the comments.
Thanks Jack!
Howdy Paul,,,hope you can find the time to keep you video's up,you tube would never be the same without you!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Anthony! Sometimes I may upload them late, but I'll keep making them!
You bringing up Sideshow Pizza reminds of another pizza place I went to as a kid for my birthday called Major Magics. Another competitor to Chuck E. Cheese. It was in the Greensburg area. Before moving to Bethel Park, I grew up near a town called West Newton, so I spent a lot of my youth in Greensburg. There was a Hills there as well that I spent a lot of time at.
I never heard of it but I just Googled it. Looks like it was a fun time!! I have performed in Greensburg a couple times.
I don't think you're "weird".... I think you're awesome!!!!!
Thanks! :)
I have a question for a future q&a video but it's kind of personal so I understand if you can't answer it. How many sources of income do you have? I love your channel because it's about the remembrance of memories. You definitely deserve 1m subs. You do you boo and don't let any haters bring you down.
That's awesome that one of your subscribers helped you out with that old furnace and I dig the Norm poem, have you ever thought about making it a song?
Glad you liked it! I have over 100 poems written in that book I was holding. I never made any of them into songs. I guess I considered them separate from all the songs I wrote.
God, I am so happy I asked that question! love you Weird Paul!!!!
what compelled you to play the song "feel my pain?" What was going through your mind at the time?
Nice video, Paul! I like your style. Keep it up!
Thanks Gavin!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Wow you replied! Just wanted to say you will be recognised one day cause you are so cool!
:)
Hey paul, what was your favorite arcade game growing up? Id love to know!
I live in st Pete fla and there is an 80s arcade not far from here called replay museum. Google it. When you walk in and hear all the beeps alarms it gives you goosebumps. If you ever make it this way we will go!
Nice!
We had an Aladdin's castle louis Joliet mall and Jefferson square mall (gone now).i sure do miss arcades
Hills ruled. Soft pretzels & Coke Icees!!
Yes!
What if RUclips excited in the 1980's would you be popular ?
Do you remember how much master of puppets costed on cd when it came out? :D
How I loved to linger in the Hill's toy department...there, among the scent of artificial butter and Kenner plastic, I found paradise.
Truly.
2016. And this guy still uses a old cam. That's neat.
Thanks!
I miss the arcade too. The 90's were dark for me too. I remember when the net was new. I used it for guitar tab. Captain Chaos!!! Wooooo! Woot woot you got rid of the beast of a furnace. :-)
Getting rid of that furnace is one of my events of the year for sure!!
It would be cool to see the full video of your old furnace getting taken apart and removed. Any chance of that happening?
I went to Chuck E. Cheese's in Bridgeville in the early '90s ... and I actually went there earlier this week. One of my cousins had a party there a couple of days ago.
Yes! That's where we shot the video. I was there last year with my nephew and niece.
I also went to Chuck E. Cheese's whenever it was located next door to Giant Eagle.
It's true-weirdness...destiny.
You damn skippy!
I envy your desire to write specific events, but I thrive, on sense memories..... I can recall the first time, place, and theater I saw the movies, Grease, Carrie, Aliens, Back to the future, Fatal Attraction, and Yentl?..wish I wrote details down..
I can remember what was going on in my life when I saw specific movies. As far as writing details down, I always tell people to write as much down as they can. You think you'll always remember. But after 20 years, even a couple words you write might be meaningless to you!
Where were you at the time of 9/11 and what was your experience like?
Paul, when you recited that ode you had a little book in your hand, is that your own poetry collection, and if yes, could you show it sometime? I am very curious!
Yes it is. It's about 100 poems, I wrote most of them throughout the 90s. Maybe I'll show more of it if people are interested!
Drunk and Chuck E. Cheese and I was asked to leave .... hehe like that song
Paul, Which Hills location was that in the video? Curious if it is the Waterworks.
It was Village Square Mall in Bethel Park: ruclips.net/video/bBBts-sy6Eg/видео.html
How do you upload your old home videos?
I use something called a "DV Converter". I show how I do it in this video: ruclips.net/video/sv6FUE6eXpU/видео.html
Do you still play dungeons and dragons?
Hope you get some time to make videos WP, youtube needs you.
Sometimes they might end up being a little late, but I'm going to get them made, no matter what!
love your 2006 hair
Thanks! I've had this haircut since the 80s though!
I think it's the lighter color, slightly bit of a Kurt Cobain realization.
Yeah my girlfriend back in 2002 had me dye it, I really looked like Kurt then. ruclips.net/video/BRF5a4eVvjg/видео.html
👍👍
Are you gonna get a mini dv camera or are you gonna just stick with 8mm?
I am sticking with 8mm - though actually I film onto VHS through the camera.
your hair looked good buddy
Thank you very much!
I've watched Cannonball Run more times than I can remember. I always laugh when Dom Deluise's character is driving the ambulance with the pedal to the metal but Burt Reynold's character needs him to go faster. Dom changes into Captain Chaos and like magic, the ambulance is suddenly able to go faster!
I believe this movie was also the first to insert blooper footage during the end credits and it gave Jackie Chan the idea to do the same with his movies.
I know Smokey and the Bandit 2 did it before Cannonball Run - still Burt Reynolds, though!
Ah, maybe that's the one then.
Bully in school is a good point. Is it Tom Petty, that asks, if you can always start over, when would you end it?
Yoy. :)
Hi Paul did you know that long after the games and systems have been taken out, Ames acquired the company and sometime after that, they filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, but a year later they opted for chapter 7 bankruptcy and liquidated all their assets.
I do know that, because I was at their going out of business sale!
If you did go back to 1984 would you confront the bullies and defend your younger self and tell your younger self you are from the future and what you’re doing in 30 years that would be hilarious if you had the Delorean from Back to the Future
Imagine that!
do you still journal?
Every single night!
Hey Weird Paul, have you ever eaten Chester's Chicken? If so, did you like it?
Can you please make a video about your Albums and release them to you tube etc;
Beaten with the ugly stick FULL album 1986
I can't put those albums on RUclips, because of the all the copyrights. I'm just singing over the original songs - the REAL songs! It would get taken down and maybe I'd get a copyright strike! I am thinking I might give copies away sometime as a kickstarter reward.
We never had a Hills
OH NO! You've released Freddy Krueger!
1:40 - WOAH...Kurt Cobain double.
I'm guessing the games disappeared from Hills around '83 or '84?
It was 1983. The games were actually still there, they just took down all the display models so we couldn't play them anymore. Such a bummer.
Schnieder all the way !!!!
Has your handwriting improved?
Not really. That's why I only print now.
You should try and make your own handwriting font!
I already have the name for it - SLOPPY!
AAAAAAAAA YOU MENTIONED SHOWBIZ PIZZA. Anyway, do you have any collectibles from Showbiz/Chuck E. Cheese's?
I don't have anything from Showbiz that I can remember. I might have a few old Chuck E. Cheese items somewhere.
Awesome! I'd love to see a video on your memories of showbiz/Chuck E. Cheese
Sorry I missed the opportunity to ask a question, so maybe you will see this. At what age did you start to keep a record of your life? And how close are you to running out of space for your collections? Thanks
I started keeping a record of my life around age 11. But I was already recording myself talking on cassette tapes at age 9. I'm not running out of space, because I've found ways for things to take up less space and I'm also throwing a bunch of garbage out that's in my basement and that's making more room. I'll do a video once I get everything changed and moved around.
@@weirdpaulp cool man. I was born in 72, watching your vids takes me back! Especially like your thrift store finds! Thanks
The internet has given us the means to communicate with people anywhere in the world at the touch of a button. The sad thing is that for some people this has led to hour upon hour in front of a computer. Good points and bad points to everything I guess.
Yep Paul, that's exactly it. Can't live with it, can't live without it.
Are you happier now than you were in the 90s?
Yes, by far. Depression is something you have to try to learn to control. It's hard work. I've also learned to love myself and how to be a better person. These things take years to work through.
I'm so glad to hear that! You seem like such a good person, and it really does take a strength and perseverance to get through things like that. Here's to happier days!
I think the 1990's will go down as the worst decade of my life. I don't really have very many fond memories from that time. I graduated high school in 1990 and began 2 disastrous years at a university that, in hindsight, I regret having gone to. 1991 marked the year two of my favorite music idols passed away -- Freddie Mercury of Queen and Eric Carr of Kiss, both on the same day too. Then there was the time in the mid 90's I went on a few horrific blind dates that to this day have left a bitter taste in my mouth as far as the dating scene goes. Plus, it was also the decade my favorite metal bands fell out of fashion for the Seattle grunge scene, which I didn't care for at all. Not to mention Rob Halford leaving Judas Priest and going industrial rock, which I absolutely detested. Bruce Dickinson also left Iron Maiden at that time and was briefly replaced by Blaze Bayley, and the 2 albums they did with him were okay at best. The only new music that came out in the 90's that I dug was Trans Siberian Orchestra, which was an outgrowth of a favorite metal band of mine -- Savatage. The 90's were also a decade where it was difficult for me to find steady employment, and that was definitely a struggle. I picked up whatever odd jobs I could, and they were all about as dead-end and uninspiring as it gets. Finally, the decade was capped off in a bad way for me when my maternal grandmother passed away in January of 1999. The 90's were an awkward transitional time between childhood and adulthood that were fraught with mistakes and regrets galore and plenty of "what if" moments where I wished I could get a do-over. So, as far as I'm concerned, I'm glad the 90's are over and in the rear-view mirror of my life. Nothing can ever touch the wonderful memories I have of my childhood from the early 70's right up through the mid 80's. Now they were magical times that no other decade can hold a candle to!
The 90s were very similar for me. Just an awful, awful time of not doing what I wanted, being forced into positions I didn't want to be in. A totally wasted decade.
maybe showbiz pizza inspired the five nights at Freddy's game series
I think it might have, yeah
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL yeah that would explain why the bear made me expect a jumpscare lol
Did you mow the lawn yet?
No
+ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL pay some kid $20 to do it. Cheaper than a fine.
True. But the kids want to charge me $50. I have just cut little bits here and there but never the whole thing. So far, so good.
Nice Camera paul. XD
Thanks!
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL :)
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Really brings in the 80s Feeling!!
At 1:40 you reminded me of Kurt Cobain
What is your mom's maiden name?
Stupid school bus and high-school kids. I'm starting a Cheers autograph scrapbook. Over 600 credited people were in at least 1 episode, but I'm up to 4.
Good start!
Have Cliff but I need NORM!
do you like ween?
