Tompall & the Glaser Brothers Last Performance - "Lovin Her Was Easier"

- Опубликовано: 2 окт 2024
- In 1990 Hank Snow asked the brothers to perform at his tribute show so they reunited for this one night. It was the first time they had perfomed as a group in over five years and the last time they ever appeared on stage together.
The kind of music that makes one glad to have lived during this period of time.
I've been a Glaser Bros. fan for 40 years, and the other day I sent an email to Jim (the tenor) and he was kind to respond the next day. He said he appreciated the kind remarks about him and his brothers, really meant alot. He said when he was younger, he was really strung up tight, but he said live and learn.. btw he sang the high part on the great record 'El Paso' with Marty Robbins. He was 21 at the time. Now in his early sevnties, he still has a great voice.
Thanks. Love a good backstory. Yeah I am a huge fan of Tompall & the brothers as well. Sure miss Radio KEEN out of San Jose, CA; gone but not forgotten.
I just discovered that all the brothers have since passed on to the other side of time's life. "C'est la vie" (Such is life).
Adios boys.
Yeah! They were great, unique, with a fantastic sound.
There my cousins

Such beautiful harmony from these 3 brothers! Today's so called country music is horrible.
This is what real MUSIC sounds like.... This is PERFECTION.
Yes...perfection
I think this is one of the most beautiful songs of country.
They cannot be described. The Glasers are Wonderful. I wish they were still here 💔
Hello how are you doing….?
Perfect sibling harmony! Nothing better! Glaser Bros. were the epitome of brothers singing together!
there will never be another family group with such tight harmonies as these guys were.. They really need to be inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame now
Well it really doesnt matter now they all are dead crying shame they should have been in there years before they died
That is one of the purest renditions of a live performance I know
RIP Tompall you were the greatest, you will never be forgotten. Love this song and this is how I will remember you. Love You xx
Hey how are you doing…?
I remember spinning the Glazer Brothers when I worked at a country music radio station in Longview Washington 40 some odd years ago. I had my whole life ahead of me. I'm almost 71 now. Tom Paul is gone now. So is Glenn Frey and too many others.
As a musician and singer, I've come to realize that every song I sing could be my last. I think of all the time I wasted and the music I took for granted. Yeah, I got to be a rockstar for a while though you know my name.
If I could say something important to a young musician it would be this: Take your eyes off stardom and be who God designed you to be. Let that be your music. Be who you truly are. God made you one of a kind and put the gift you have within you. Use it for Him. You never know when you will sing your last song.
Neil Jones
Kris wrote it, and Tompall & brothers made it the greatest love song ever recorded. It played at my wifes funeral, and is still my favoreite song of all time.. There is not a "country' artist working today fit to carry these guys guitar amps.
What "Country " artist ? Country is nothing but soft hip hop these days...recording/broadcasting giants control the music even more today, if a kid won't buy it....it is not being made...
@@gordenscottfan3107 Oh, it's being made. You and I just don't get to hear it.
Yes but they own it, kris can’t sing.
Got that right. There's no one in country music today that can sing with these guys.
THIS IS COUNTRY MUSIC HISTORY....LOVE IT
This is music that we'll never see again. Thanks for posting this video.
All of the greats are gone. Country music is gone. Love the Glaser Brothers!!
I can't count how many times I have watched this video ,,it is better each time i watch it..
I have listened to several versions of this song and I was right, no one can sing it as good as Tompall and his brothers! What talent!
when he sang a song no need for anyone else to !I never ever want nor will I listen to anyone else sing it I dont care who sung it first !
do yall get my driff
( lol ) !
Most definitely the best version most definitely
Tompall is so great. He has a very good golden voice. Bet I have ever heard. These bros are the best harmonies. God Bless the Glaser Brothers. Tompall is now singing in heaven. What a beautiful voice. Thanks for your beautiful music.
no one sings this song better the harmonies are wonderful
Beautiful rendition of this beautiful song, and at my age I can truly say "they don't make them like this anymore".
I actually like this version better than the studio version. Flawless!!
This song is one of the most beautiful songs ever. They should be in the Hall of Fame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just WOW. All the forces came together...the song, the singers, the performance, the Opry House. The result will never be equaled. Ever. Long live this music.
Tompall's version of "T for Texas" is still what I open up with every time I perform! He had a big impact on my life. So put another log on the fire and thank God for the Glaser's!
And just like that an era ended. In a category all their own 👍
Speechless. Beautiful song done with perfection.
I hope this, and all the other great Glaser music stays on here forever. So missing Tompall already. RIP. He had the richest and the most soulful voice in country music history. In the presence of his Lord now. He was never fully appreciated for his many talents.
Hello how are you doing today…?
One of the greatest groups in my lifetime & ever will be,,,,,you never hear of groups like this anymore,,,& probably ever will. !!!
To this day, this song puts a lump in my throat.
These guys were awesome - and should indeed be in the HOF!!!!
Someone please explain to me why the Glasers, and their enormous talents, are not in the Country Music Hall of Fame? Their induction is WAY past due!
Money!
And a lot of politics I expect as well.
agree 100%...
Nashville is who you know and who you blow, who you meet and who you eat. Been there. Took the bus back home.
I feel bad about that. We've probably been deprived of a lot of amazing talent for that very reason. Nashville needs to get over itself.
We will never find another three guys like this Just magic
RIP Jim Glaser !!! Great music, another unique sound overlooked by Hall of Fame, the Glaser Brothers. Jim was just as great as solo artist. Thanks for Glaser music!!!!! Your music will live on.
Jim Glaser was the best singer h
H
that was pure country music feeling, but they rather make room for garth brooks, vince gill....
They recorded many great songs, but without a doubt my all time favorite will always be “I Still Love You” (After all these years). My wife always referred to it as “Our Song”. ❤️
I think if you opened a Dictionary to the word "harmony" you would see these gentlemen, such great voices, RIP Glaser Bros!
This song, these singers, this performance.....SUPERB! This will never be equaled. Ever.
Just love this one
I'm 71 and this is one of my top 5 all time favorite songs. What a fantastic piece of music and thank you Kris Kristopherson for writing it and Tompall and his bros great harmony. Also love Willie's version. Thanks for sharing.
I'm with you, Brian. This is one of my "go to" songs when I need to feed my Country soul! Love Tompall!
It's very easy to play on guitar as well. Very melodic. This was a great group!!!
Brian Wilkinson saw these in concert many years ago. Love this song.
One of my all time favorites too.
But you cannot beat the first single of this song by Roger Miller......
I can't go one day without listening to them!
absolutely beautiful................still following jim glaser
Beautiful. A treat and a blessing.
This is the best cover of this song I have ever heard wonderful harmony
I didn't know until today that these wonderful performers were not in the country music hall of fame. There are many great and wonderful performers who, in my opinion, may have made it there because of Tompall and the Glaser Brothers.
You are so right about the Hall of Fame. I only realized about a year ago that they were not already members. I found that to be stunning, given all they meant to real country music. If you haven't already, please read Tompall's biography that came out last year. It's called "The Great Tompall; Forgotten Country Music Outlaw" written by his nephew, Kevin Glaser. It is an incredible book that finally sheds some light on the amazing career of Tompall and what he did for the careers of so many. He was truly an AMAZING talent and he is missed.
I have heard this song sang by countless others but no one can sing it like the Glasers.
No harmony like 3 brothers singing into a single mic.
So beautiful!
YOU ARE SO RIGHT!
Simply fantastic love this from tompall and brothers thanks for this
Watching this clip is always a pleasure and I'm grateful that I can still enjoy watching and listening to such a class performance. I would sell my cat in exchange for a front row seat, but I know that will never be possible so my cat is safe and blissfully unaware of this terrible admission.
Fantastic love this song from tompall and brothers thanks for this lovely post
Wow - The Glasers working that one mike - The BEST trio. Sad this was their last performance together.
I was fortunate enough to see them in the 80's before they retired. Remains one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
HISTORY IN THE MAKING...PURE CLASSIC
Remember these guys... A staple at the grand old opre
Sweet harmonies to the very end. Bless you boys, for all the joy you've given us over the years. Rest in peace, Tompall Glaser. I pray your once rebel spirit is humbly serving the Master in Heaven.
I was fortunate enough to see them in the 80's before they retired. Remains one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
thanks for the memories!
A great group, too bad they split up. was with them from their beginnings. Thanks for posting this!
Can we all work on getting this to 1,000,000 views. Please share with your BFF.
Just class went to see them in Dublin irl just class t Webb
Great
I never get tired of listening to these guys. The word amazing is over used, but in this case, completely appropriate.
The brother at the rear looks soo out of place
William Millard That was Chuck who had recovered from a bad Stroke. Amazing he was even able to sing but he fought hard and came back.
@@williammillard6652 He is very handsome looks distinguished.
I can listen to these guys 24/7,,,,Love em always did,,,always will,,,,,,by all means,,,they should have been in the Hall of fame,,,,,,,,thereis a gsng of em in there right now ,,,I wouldn't give a kiss of my butt for,,,,,most people today don't know what talent is ,,,they listen to garbage !!!!!
@@williammillard6652 that brother had his place in that group,,he was great also !!!!
Always liked the Glaser Brothers and listening now I think they deserved more recognition .
Well lm 56 and a back porch picker and I reckon this is the 1st time hearing of thes people .purdy goot stuff ld say
Growing up they used to come to our house when we had Sing Alongs. Jim was still in high school. Great memories!
Not enough superlatives to describe these guys. I first heard Tompal on the Outlaws album. After that I bought everything I could get my hands on by him but there was no topping the brothers together.
Beautiful. I love all the Glaser's so much,
The greatest country song ever !😀
That Hall Of Fame Bunch Don't know what are how the real country fan feel's Just Like the pop crap they that Nashville is pushing today They are trying to starve out true country music Look how they have done Dottie West And That lady helped bring country music out of the bar's into every house and radio in the world .
I sing a lot of karaoke and singing their version of "Loving Her..." is still my biggest thrill. Whoever they got to sing the harmony parts sounds very close to the brothers. I'm a barely acceptable singer but I love the song. Add my vote for the C&W HOF!!
I too sing Loving Her at karaoke shows- the background harmony makes me sound better than I really am. My second favorite song to sing is Jack Greenes' Statue of A Fool - we have lost way too many of really great country singer these last few years
2:49 of pure music magic. Tompall and The Glaser Brothers.
My favorite Glazer song
Heavenly Harmony!! Classic and Eternal!! 😍💯💚💙💜🤎❤🧡💛💯😍
This was a magnificent performance. Sadly one of their last (if not the last performances) but the song is smooth
So beautiful. Love songs like this, and performances like this...special. No matter who you are and where you grew up. Sweet harmonies.
Love to watch these guys. Their harmony is superb. My favorite is the medley performance where they finish each others sentences. They need to be in the hall of fame, fantastic!
Like Patsy Like Kitty Like Emmy Lou Like Patty L ❤❤❤wooooooo what a voice Johnny From Alabama
really fantastic love this song from the great tompall and brothers thanks for this
Just heard, R..I. P., Tompall Loved your sound, especially with your brothers.
Harmony that only a family can produce.
The Glaser Bros was in a class of their own. It´s a pity I´d never saw them live. Thanks so much for sharing weeze...
This is the best! Love this song so much. Awesome rendition. It so reminds me of her and what we had ! Blessings my Doll ! I will always miss you !
Even now, Jim Glaser could melt steel with his voice...
Becca S His only competition as the best Tenor was Glen Yarborough of the Limelighters. Claude Hill, Chief Engineer of Glaser Sound Studios.
+Claude Hill I just think he's dreamy.. : )
Loving you was easy...proving it is another matter altogether..I did it all for the glory of love of you and our children.... It will get better baby I promise... !!!! All my love Brad Houghton
It was so funny today I ran into that guy we used to hang out with when you first got out of prison back in 2011 !!! He says "Your wife through your game off" I was like no she didn't I did what I did for love of that woman and because I knew that in the process I would teach trailer trash their manners... No amount of money could compensate me for the loss of our children... But I sure showed these cowards to their manners... !!! I made this new joke" I found a bag and I'm chasing this old guy down the street and he's running away and I say" ALL I HAVE HERE IS YOUR MANNERS SIR" You punks seem not to know I have been plotting my revenge for years!!! HA HA HA I love you baby!!!
Kris Kristoferson, Rest easy, see you soon brother.
Nothing beats brothers singin ' together! Funny Gram Parsons tells a story about Tompall giving him and the Byrds a hard time at the 'Opry but you gottta pay your dues i guess haha
It's a shame in country music today 2014 that Tompall Glaser and the Glaser Brothers again, are not inducted in the Country music Hall off Fame.
Tompall Glaser pased away 2013. But Jim and Chuck of The Glaser Brothers are one of the last artist who played with Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Roy Orbison, Waylon Jennings etc. When you hear Jim Glaser with Marty Stuart last recording on you tube , old time classic Let Me Down Easy writen by Jim and Tompall. That's real country music it's the best there is. I love these guys
The Legendary Tompall and The Glaser Brothers
Henri de Groot, Emmen, Holland the Netherlands
Henri de Groot v
I love this song
i think they are absolutely brilliant
Marty Robbins had the best backup group. Watch them come in in the middle of a word. Nobody else ever did that
There is no one does this song better
This song is a long time favorite of mine. When I looked for it singing karaoke, I could only find it listed as done by Waylon Jennings. But when they played it, I knew in an instant it was the version done by the Glaser brothers. What a thrill to blend my voice in with the harmonizing 'brothers'. R.I.P. Tompall
Whenever I sing karaoke, I always sing this song - the background harmony makes me or any K singers sound good
Never tire of this. Perfectly describes how I feel of my wife of fifty six years!❤
Well, they still had their magic in their voices. Great job.
@camerabugs, Chuck did have a stroke back in the 70's and his left side was paralyzed which also affected his voice. He worked very hard to get back to where he could sing at all. He never let it stop him from living though, He always said that he'd sing on the Opry stage again and he did. I even went golfing with him when I was a teenager and he did great one handed.
There sibling harmony equals The Everly's
And the BeeGees. Also 3 Brothers
Thanks Sandy. Just wish we could go back in time and see these guys again. That would be priceless.
Fantastic love this song from tompall and brothers thanks for this lovely post
R.I.P.
Geez, what don't say. What a moving song and lyrics by Kris Kristofferson.
Genuine chills ......beautifully done. Thank you, Jim.
Gene Watson is one of the Great Singers. AND he also needs to be In The Grand Ole Opry Hall Of Fame.
This is great! doing a little town called spalding proud! (if you don't know it's a small town in nebraska where these guys are from)
