Actually in most states it's illegal to touch electrical. Where I live if you live in the county you can do your own electrical. In the city you cannot.

You're really supposed to hire a "licensed electrician" for high voltage, but hes literally splicing a pre-existing outlet with a piece of romex cable plus his installs are relatively small when it comes to the electrical portion. So more power to those who can do their own electrical work. Just always make sure to flip the breaker off before working on a live outlet!
