The song of my country is dedicated to Blas Canto's grandmother who died at the end of last year due to covid19. His father also died before going to Eurovision 2020 when it was going to be celebrated. It is a good and emotional song to remember our grandparents and grandmothers who have died from this disease and from other diseases that exist or we have lost any loved one ... As a Spaniard I am moved because this song reminds me of my grandparents who have died since 2016 and due to personal circumstances that my family has lived because of the pandemic. I just hope you empathize and put yourself in the place of the story and emotion that the song transmits. I am aware that my country will not be well because of the TVE channel because they do not have interest in Eurovision. But, I hope for some miracle because this song moves me just as I get excited with Pastora Soler. I want my country to want and think about positively supporting the Spanish candidacy. “Eurovision” and “good taste”, should never go together in the same sentence. Once you come to terms with that, you’ll then understand why quality songs such as this one or Finland’s 2017 entry never get anywhere.
Just to add to the above, I loved Yianna Terzi’s entry three years ago but knew I didn’t stand a chance, because of the type of contest we are dealing with.

Eurovision have lost its essence, until 2012 it was about european languages and culture, now it all about which song will bring more profit for the organization, thats why most of the songs are english generic song.

I don't know why Spain is always so underrated at Eurovision. This song is so beautiful! If I had to describe it in a single word, it would be cosy. It always makes feel like I'm wrapped in a nice, warm blanket, sharing a homemade sweet with someone I care about.
And that is the problem. "cosy" does not make people vote for a song. Just imagine the average esc-viewer. Somebody who sees all the songs the first time at the final. Never heard them before (with exeption of the own country). And then he has to decide which song to vote for. Which one will he remember? The cosy one?
Usually people vote for one or two or maybe even three songs, but that are the songs they liked best, remembered after hearing all the songs and made their mind up to vote for them.
This is a beautiful song, but I doubt that it has a lot of chances.

To me, most of Eurovisions songs sound the same, nothing new, nothing special, but spanish songs are different. And eurovision people don't usually apreciate that, and vote for some average songs, always the same.... Spain sent a lot of very beautiful songs during years but never is enough for the voters.... Always extremly underrated.

@@ivanmacias9603 You've got a point there. :-) That song was not my taste, therefore it is difficult for me to explain. I guess it was one of those changes in time like in 2010. I can explain 2010 better, because it was so obvious: after all those burning pianos, dancers and fiddlers (and I loved it all :-D) people wanted more simplicity and voted for a young girl with obvious joy and without fiddlers, dancers or even a great coreography herself. :-D I guess in 2017 something like that happenend again: good bye great pop songs, hello portuguese cosyness. :-) But I doubt that it is time again for something like this....we had a kind of change in 2019 when so many songs where about "I have a message" and the winner was "simply good music"...even the winner with the public voting - Norway - was more about good music (okay they showed a bit of norwegian minority tradition with the yoking) than about a "message". But anyway...we will see on saturday what will happen. After this covid year it is hard to say, what the public wants....cosyness, anti-something-messages, dancing, rock....we will see :-)

Ehh, it's a fairly generic ballad to me. The meaning is of course nice but compositionally it's quite bland.
I dont understand either, its a good song and the long note at the end, that got me! I don't understand spanish very well so perhaps some of the emotion is lost in translation? I agree with this sentiment. I therefore hope your country follows suit and doesn’t vote for Cyprus for the sake of it being Cyprus but rather votes for the song. This hasn’t always been the case in the past, take it from someone like myself who has been watching this contest since childhood.

The most underrated song in whole eurovision
Pues si... ya sabemos que no vamos a ganar, que seguramente quedaremos atrás, pero también sabemos que no será ni por la calidad vocal, ni por calidad melódica ni por la interpretación, será por que a TVE no le interesa promocionar a sus participantes. La canción es emocionante, Blas Canto la interpreta muy bien, la siente, se la dedica a su abuela , y por extensión a todos esos abuelos que se nos han ido injustamente en este año tan horrible. Todo un homenaje a una generación enorme, que vivió desgracias guerras dictaduras y crisis, y que sin embargo nos puso en las manos un país maravilloso. En nombre de todos ellos GRACIAS BLAS CANTO ¡!!!

Not enough people voted in your country to get to the 1 point mark. If you arent on the top 12 voted songs in the country you dont get any point from that country.

The point is not equivalent to the number of people voting
Each country has the same number of points, and they're distributed in the same way as the jury vote (ie. most popular gets 12, second gets 10, etc.) Spain, Germany, Netherlands, and the UK didn't get enough in any country to be in the top 11, so they didn't get any votes from the public

This is the 2020 story of many people who suffered an unexpected loss. As Blas says: "if I'm not sharing this inner feeling that tortures me inside right now, then...when?"
Many hospitals suffered collapse since March of last year. Hospital authorities had to decide who to treat and who to let die (called "triada" in spanish, guess is "triage" in english) It was especially bloody in Spain and Blas's grandmother was one of those many victims.
It is very difficult to extract something positive out of this, but I think this song tries to be those last words that many people could not give to those who died in complete loneliness far away from their loved ones. That last hug or that last hand holding. In a nutshell: a robbed farewell.

I know it will not be on the tops because it is sung in Spanish, but the song is beautiful. 🇪🇸🎶
This song moved me to tears. In January I had to say goodbye to my grandmother in hospital, because the doctors were convinced she wasn’t going to survive Covid. Yet somehow she did. Many people weren’t that lucky and my heart goes out to them and their families. I truly hope Spain does well this year- he deserves it. Don’t listen to the haters. Much love from Belgium.

This is a heartfelt thankyou to Blas Canto. In the early days of Covid, in April 2020 I lost a dear friend to the pandemic. I haven't been able to grieve properly for my friend due to distance but listening to this I have been able to cry for the first time. This is a beautiful and heartfelt piece of music that has a special place in my heart. Doesn't matter what happens on May 22nd, this will always be my winner xx
