    We just purchased a CDFI500 and this video helps so much! I appreciate the tip about the ventilation space because we are building it in. Our project begins on Nov. 30. 😄 Thank you!

      Hello Deborah, how did your installation go? Did you end up running into the same problem as we did? It is outlined here: ruclips.net/video/RQZghvhTAYI/видео.html

      Hi Helen, no, fortunately we have not have that issue and our installation went wonderfully! We had a contractor install it and he built the area housing the unit as well. We have been enjoying our fireplace for a little over a year now and we love it! I hope you find a solution!

    When connecting multiple cassettes together to create a larger fireplace, do I need a plumbing kit and plumbing line for each cassette or do they all connect together? Same with electrical.

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  Год назад

      Good questions. Each cassette has its own plumbing connection and its own electrical connection. You can have up to 2 CDFI1000-Pro cassettes on a single 15 amp circuit, unless you have heaters connected, in which case each heater would be on its own dedicated circuit.

    Hello, can you ask questions about this fireplace?

    Great video team, here in Australia we only have the model CAS1000 but it appears to be cheaper although similar to the CDFI1000-PRO, do you happen to know the difference?

      Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Australian version.

    Thanks for awesome video, I'm purchasing this unit and really want to know the size of plumbing line connecting to this (diameter)? I know I can buy a plumbing kit but I need an extra length so I'm getting my own. I would really appreciate that if you can get me that answer I can't seem to find it anywhere.

      Hi, Kash. These are the components the Dimplex says are in a plumbing kit:
      25 feet of 1/4" tubing--PE blue
      1/4" union connector
      1/4" piercing valve
      **Our installer has advised me that 1/4" should actually be 6 mm in order to connect to the cassette. **

    If I put my TV over it but in a niche, will the mist cost any damage to my tv unit? Thank you!

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  3 года назад

      If your TV is in a niche, there is no concern about the mist causing damage. The mist dissipates about 18-24 inches above the 'flames', anyway.

  • @helencech8663
    @helencech8663 2 года назад

    I bought one of these partly as a result of this video. Unfortunately the flames look really nice for only about one minute after turning on. After that, the flames are tiny, barely noticeable. Do you have any idea why this is happening? The troubleshooting guide suggests that it is because I don't have enough air intake, however I am testing it prior to installing the walls around the fire place. (I only have it roughed in so there is plenty of space for air)

    • @stylishfireplaces
      @stylishfireplaces  2 года назад

      Hi, Helen. You can adjust the mist output; yours may be set too low. It comes out a lot more when you first start it up, but then settles into whatever setting you choose. Each home is different, so your setting will have to be adjusted to look good where you are. Try increasing the mist output. As for air intake, there must be a minimum amount of air intake under the unit, as prescribed in the manual. If you cover the air intake inlet in the wall, with a grate for instance, then that grate is taking up some of the space needed, so be sure to make the opening larger than prescribed in the manual. Hope that makes sense!

      @@stylishfireplaces Thank you for your response, it is good to know that for you, it also starts a lot more. My husband took a little video of our fireplace. Would you be willing to take a look at it and see if it is reasonable to expect this little fire even on the highest setting? Or should we pursue a fix? Thank you! ruclips.net/video/YKk6IxNsA4w/видео.html

      @@helencech8663 My installer looked at your video. There are a couple of possibilities. There is a known issue with Mod E units when connected to a plumbing line. If you have Mod E, contact Dimplex. Next, check for kinks in the water line. Water should not be softened; the unit needs the chemicals normally found in tap water. Likewise, don't add any oils or scents to the water. Last, we don't recognize the valve on the plumbing connection; could it be cutting off the water supply?

    • @helencech8663

      @@stylishfireplaces Thank you for your reply. We have partly solved one of my two issues. We came up with a workaround for the fire being barely visible. The workaround is installing a little fan to the top of the unit. You can see it in this video: ruclips.net/video/RQZghvhTAYI/видео.html.
      My second problem has not been solved, the issue is that the left water container doesn't get filled up from my water supply automatically. I have to fill that one manually using the orange water container. When the water runs low, the unit simply shuts down and the left lights blink twice. I understand this to be a sign of one of the valves not working properly. Perhaps that is the "known issue with Mod E units" you mentioned?
      Per your suggestion, I did check for kinks, the water is not softened, and no oils have been added. As far as the valve on the plumbing connection... that is the one that came with the unit. However since the right container gets filled up fine, I don't believe that the main valve is the problem. Thank you for mentioning the known issue. The person I talked to at Dimplex customer support was clearly not aware of the issue. Hopefully I will get a hold of someone who is familiar with it.
      At this point, I am happy with the look of the fire, but I am still surprised that I had to come up with this workaround. I will have to figure out how to install the fan permanently and make it easy to turn on. If you have any additional advice, that would be great. Thank you!

      @@helencech8663 Please persist with Dimplex service. I don't know where you are located, but in Canada we have had a 'fill' issue with all Mod E units, and it came to light after we had sold them. Dimplex has been providing a tether of some sort to solve the issue, and it sounds like you may need one. You can determine if you have a Mod E by the information plate inside the unit; to the right of the serial number is a Mod #. The unit will fill properly if you use the water bottles, but it will not fill properly if you have a plumbing line, until you get this part they have been providing. It's covered under warranty. From everything you have told me, your unit is having this issue. Don't take no for an answer! Good luck!
