I LOVE how the ending guitar lick is the same as the first track of the album (Imperium). Just makes me hyped to listen to everything all over again!
Yeah, I loved that too.
I like how it symbolizes an empire being built from ashes of a prior empire, and returning to ashes just to build the next one. Brings out the meaning of "I'll be the shadow, you'll be the light"
The line "we will go softly into the night" references the poem "do not go Gently into that good night." The poem tells someone to fight against the end at all costs, but the song reads that line as their failure, when an empire is willing to tear itself apart. The amount of references in this album are amazing
The album literally goes full circle! It's brilliant!
@Tyler Holman a recent interview with Tobias he mentions everything being cyclical. Makes sense now
Exatamente.
This is probably my favorite song on the album, you can clearly hear 80's heavy metal/hard rock influence. It has a bit of Infinite Dreams by Iron Maiden and Still of the Night by Whitesnake.
I heard more No Prayer for the Dying in this song than Infinite Dreams, but there's definitely Maiden influence on this album as a whole. There's a lot of obvious influence on this album, to the point where each song almost feels like a tribute to a different band. Watcher in the Sky for example is VERY Ozzy/Randy Rhoads sounding in the riffs, and very Avenged Sevenfold sounding during the solo.
totally hearing Whitesnake. Love it!
I'm hearing Ghost. A super-song.
@@teriparchenprintz6937 Yes!! My first reaction as well, my fav band in the eighties!
Absolutely! Great stuff.
I absolutely love the lyrics "That the king that we hailed, was the Wizard of Oz". On the surface, slightly goofy. To me it's a clear representation of the facade that people in power display to gain power. Beautiful. Nice review man.
Thank you!
That reaction at 2:25.... everyone had that exact same reaction and that exact same part of the song the first time they heard it. :)
This song goes so well with life eternal. The whole ‚forever‘ theme of life eternal and the answer to that ‚nothing ever lasts forever‘
This is a song about Jack the Ripper and the murders he perpetrated in the district of Spitalfields (and Whitechapel, of course).
Absolutely a Masterpiece to the beginning to the end
The ending is epic. Going to be awesome at concerts
Já vi que é BR então vou comentar em português, mano é exatamente isso, eu ouvindo ela só fico imaginando o Tobias cantando e jogando rosas para o público, não sei porq, mas seria o final de show perfeito kkkkkkk
The bass tone on this song is so good!
This whole album has a slaaaaaapping bass tbh
Agreed! The bass sounds awesome.
Love this song. But am I the only one who find references to The Final Countdown by Europe in the middle section?
About Jack the Ripper in the slums of London called Spitalfields. He was never caught
Hey Gabriel, Awesome reaction to this Ghost album!!! You Rock my friend 🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘😁
Thank you!
Essa música ficou ANIMAL!!! INSANAAAA
I’d love to see your reaction to square hammer by ghost and rats by ghost
I love this song.
Try listening to the lyrics instead of talking over them.
It's about Jack the Ripper and several murders that werent in White Chapel area but just a few streets away. They wondered if those also were Jack's killings.
What metal band are you in ????
Currently the band I'm in hasn't made an official announcement yet, but there might be an announcement about that in the next couple of weeks. 👀
I only ask because I'm the drummer for a metal band called primordius and I had to pull your card lol....
Just waiting for people to mash this one up with Welcome Home by Coheed and Cambria.
Also, I high-key think Bite of Passage and Respite on the Spitalfields are both meant for an unannounced Nightmare on Elm Street film with all the allusions to the killer, dreams, the blood that was shed being real, all of it.
I saw someone else say that too, I really think the song was telling the story of an empire on its last legs, wrapping up the theme. But Idk, maybe it has more than one meaning
It’s actually about Jack the Ripper 😁
The whole album tells the story of how papa 1 2 and 3 were betrayed and killed and respite is them saying they are coming back. The jack the ripper thing is no go.
@@dock3680 apparently you haven’t seen the inner album artwork with the London-esque streets with a cloaked man walking down the road…..I also remember reading an interview somewhere of Tobias talking about this song discussing themes of Jack the Ripper, as well as the fall of an empire. No where in the lyrics do I hear anything reference multiple papas coming back lol
@@aydenburris8631 It's aboutJack the Ripper.
Oh and this song is about Jack the ripper..
Heard about that, very cool!
Metal guitarist doesn't recognise the Still of the Night riff!
THANK YOU it’s been killing me
Don't know how I missed that. lol
Metal Guitarist 'reacts'? We callin a poker face and inaudible mumblings 'reaction' these days?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
