New York becomes a different city at night
Worth noting that this was the beginning of Pride weekend in NYC, which is why there are rails being set up for the parade on the 30th + why there are a lot of pride flags out. It's also worth noting that the video starts on the west side of Manhattan where it's extra gay friendly (the video starts out in Chelsea and goes through the West Village to start). Just to the east is the Village + Washington Square Park. Lots of great comedy and jazz in the neighborhood. For those who think it's way too crowded, there are a lot more quieter neighborhoods in the city but it wouldn't be as interesting to walk through and make a video about. I really love hanging downtown but love coming home to my quieter Brooklyn neighborhood.
Doesn't hold a candle to Montreal.
NYC is an old city, which is why it looks "boring" to many people

This is what makes NYC great. If you love crowds, endless people watching and interactions, you will have that to no end, anywhere you go.
