    Greetings sir, If ATC tells you to reduce to minimum clean speed during desend above 20000 ft ....the min clean speed will be vref 40+70 or i go to the hold page press PPos and whatever speed it shows on hold page ( best speed) ...that would be my clean speed ?? ...
    Example vref40+70 was 206kt and hold page 216kts....

    • @AbdulmuatiAsiri37
      @AbdulmuatiAsiri37  Год назад

      Hello Deepak,
      I personally will go to Vref40+70 the UP speed,,, provided I believe the speed is safe for that specific flight condition, if you are descending through turbulence for example or icing conditions whatever the situation is, if you don’t feel comfortable going to UP speed advice ATC on the speed that you are able to slow to.
      Hope that answers your question
      All the best
      Abdul

    Nice Videos...
    My question is a little more detailed. If you set up that hold in a direction where you would need to make a teardrop entry (maybe 135 inbound course but North East of the fix and Right turns), does the ND show you the magenta path for the 1min leg outbound from the fix before making the right turn back to the fix? I assume you should just be able to stay in LNAV for the entry and should NOT have to go into HDG mode to do the 30 degree offset for the teardrop.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    • @AbdulmuatiAsiri37
      @AbdulmuatiAsiri37  3 года назад

      Hello Scott,
      Thank you for the question,
      LNAV will do a great job in entering the hold no matter where you are coming from.
      What I was referring to in the video regarding using heading, is if you want to change the hold that you executed already in the FMC, and you are either holding or less than 3 min from the holding fix then you might need to use heading initially.
      Other than that LNAV will do a great job entering and maintaining the hold.
      About your question regarding the depiction of the hold in the ND, as soon as you execute I believe it will show the entry and the full hold in magenta, as the entry completed it will just show the hold.
      Hope that answer your question,
      Let me know if it doesn’t or if you have another question
      All the best,
      Abdul

      @@AbdulmuatiAsiri37
      Hi there Abdul. I did gather your reference on the first part of your answer but thanks for confirmation. As for the depiction on the ND, here is why I was wondering about the real airplane. I have been instructing both regular people looking for fun and real pilots in a fixed base full size 737 for entertainment with about 1500 hours so far (am a real pilot, no real 737 experience, self taught correct procedures). It is based on P3D and VERY old Project Magenta software to interface to our hardware. I know it doesn't draw the hold and entry correct and even will not contain the correct entry type in the FMC. So it flies the wrong entry (I can't change unless going to HDG mode) with no magenta line and then has to make huge turns to get back to the holding fix and start the hold. Its just wrong but we are stuck with it as no more updates coming.
      Hence my question on what the real ND will depict after executing the hold and getting ready for the entry after crossing the fix in this example. Maybe you can note in your travels if you have to hold like that and whether the 1min entry is drawn. I too think it should be because in LNAV, the A/P and/or FD will follow the magenta path. I don't know of another time when in LNAV that the airplane will just fly off into a black area with no magenta line. It would either follow magenta line or if in HDG, it would follow "dashed" magenta line HDG Bug.
      Thanks again for taking the time to answer and will be watching for these informative videos to better my skills...
      Scott

      Hello Scott,
      Thanks for reaching our, I will keep an eye to see the depiction in the ND in the airplane should I get a hold in the airplane,
      It looks like we are having the same simulation problem, as I am using FSX and PMDG, and the airplane seems not to mimic the airplane as the real airplane will be almost on the magenta line in the hold, but PMDG at least the version I have does not do that.
      Do you have any videos or pictures of your setup, would love to see it.
      Thanks again for your question and sharing your thoughts,
      if you have any question related to the B737 please let me know,
      All the Best
