@@IiIiIiIOnTopfunny you should say that considering these guys helped inspire those bands you mentioned as well as helped pioneer the sound that led to their styles. Maybe a little humility as well as appreciation for rock history would do you well.
Ich war 1985 auf dem Konzert mit der Original Band Mark two es war einfach genial. Unvergessen. Meine Jugend und bin es heute noch mit 62 Jahren. Thank you forever.
At a young age for me this was a new record. I still have it. Deep Purple are gothic, classical, and heavy metal all at once. The Perfect combination. Ian is my favorite singer of all time!
Man was I spoiled rotten as a kid growing up in the 70's & 80's with all the Super Groups playing this caliber of incredible Rock music back then. We took it completely for granted, thinking that this amount of phenomenal material was just normal? Who would realize as time would go on that most of the "New Age" Rock groups of the 90's and onward would never measure up anywhere near talent of the numerous bands of those 2 decades? I remember the band Journey would be the opening act of Kiss, the Stones, Van Halen, etc. Ahh..we were so much luckier than the Gen Z's or Millenium kids of today.
The Gen Xrs did live the 70s and 80s too. Had to correct you my friend..I was there too and was at this show as a matter of fact and I'm Gen X..Maybe you meant Y or Z?😏🤣✌️😎
Back then you had to go out and buy either the album or cassette depending on whether you wanted to listen to it at home or in the car. And you had to do it for each of these great bands over and over because most of the albums were mostly filler Now you can just listen to them anytime you want online for nothing or even download the best quality if you want as well
Can you remember remember my name As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown And cold spirits of ice All my life I am the echo of your past I am returning the echo of a point in time Distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known And laughing as the spirits appear All your life Shadows of another day And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow A strand of silver hanging through the sky Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Is aching with the dead of the night Precious life (your tears are lost in Falling rain) And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers
I feel the same way about the song Space Truckin'. I had a coworker that when we were doing some arduous task and needed energy, We would say "Come on, Space Truckin'" to one another.
In the end perhaps it is best if you forgot my name If you can’t be forthright and be a decent person then wtf is the point?? I am in a super good place in my life, the later years are supposed to be relaxing and stress free This you must see. If not then leave me be.
One of the comeback albums top tracks ; when they played this live Jon Lord always played his solo with the proper Hammond-type sound which really enhanced it.
Yes! I am the echo of her pain. Intangibles Intaminacy issues Daddy complex Broken trust Broken childhood But remember,,,, I was smart enough to ever breed a child. And we ain’t yet Daddy so go down the road Live your life and we remain perfectly estranged. ☝️😎☝️❤️
@@samanthahahnke8200 my day was going ok, until you reminded me. 🙂! Sadly, I must admit that I wish that I still had it! I was 18 and didn't realize what I had. But, my friends and I had a lot of fun with that car and some pretty good memories!
you are right my friend, todays music doesn't even compare. the old English bands were the shit in the day. to many to list from a to z and everywhere in between. rock on friends and don't give up on music, hopefully someone will wake up and see the need for pure classic rock again and try to do something about it. please KIDS we need it.
We all agree the song is a masterpiece. If you break it down and listen to just guitar track, you'll hear an amazing melody Ritchie plays during the chorus.
Deep Purple split up after releasing their 1975 album “Come Taste The Band.” When they returned in 1984, it was with the Mark II lineup : Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Ian Gillan, Ian Paice and Jon Lord. It wasn’t a warm-and-fuzzy reunion, but more about learning to get along with a new maturity to guide them. The phrase “perfect strangers” seemed to fit. The song’s lyrics were penned by lead singer Ian Gillan, who explained : “‘Perfect Strangers’ [1984] is a contradiction in terms, like an OXYMORON. That was pretty much how we described it - there was a lot of suspicion and worry and nervousness about getting together again and having a reunion, and when we all sat around in the basement of this old house in Vermont, there was a log fire and three feet of snow outside. We had a couple of beers, and nobody started playing. Then, Paicey [Ian Paice] started tapping away and people started grooving, and a little shuffle came along. In five minutes everyone had a smile on their face. So ‘Perfect Strangers’ was how we were before, and ‘Perfect Strangers’ are how we are afterwards - WITH TWO OPPOSITE MEANINGS TO THE PHRASE.” 💜🎶💜
I really never paid enough attention to Purple before this album, as they were a little before my youth. Then this album came out my senior year in high school.....and there was NOTHING like it..
Caught this tour accidently driving through Jacksonville, March 1985. Great show. Saw the MIII lineup in 74. That was a little more intense with " Burn" as the opening tune. I think. I am fried. I think. Aw. ..screw it.
Can you remember, remember my name? As I flow through your life A thousand oceans I have flown Ohh, and cold Cold spirits of ice Ah, ah, all my life I am the echo of your past I am returning, the echo of a point in time And distant faces shine A thousand warriors I have known Ohh, and laughing As the spirits appear All your, all your life Shadows of another day If you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow A strand of silver hanging through the sky Touching more than you see The voice of ages in your mind Oh, is aching with the dead of the night Ohh, precious life Your tears are lost in falling rain And if you hear me talking on the wind You've got to understand We must remain Perfect strangers

I remember when I was in grade 5 my mom bought this tape from Columbia House. I used to listen to the whole cassette and this was one of my favourite songs! 🤟🏻
The very first song on probably the greatest comeback album in Rock history, the title song is one of the ten greatest in the entire Deep Purple canon. It also changed the Metal game in 1984. Brilliant song on a brilliant album. Love the video, too.
Yes this was an awsome comeback...however they didnt need a comeback they have always been on the top of my chart and always will be....we must remain...perfect strangers.
Seen them on their comeback/ reunion in San Antonio Texas at my old stomping grounds the Convention Center Arena. They didn't sell out the place but it was LOUDER than all the playoff games the Spurs ever played. Since then,no "great"concerts and they tore down my old hangout, sniff sniff. I'm just waiting for my last trip.
You got that right, cousin! Jon Lord was J.S. Bach to Keith Emerson's Beethoven. Throw in Rod Argent, Gregg Rolie, Greg Allman and the others, that's quite a bit of keyboard talent! Those were the days... when musicians may have also had a habit; but now, many are just junkies who can play G-C-D on the guitar
Saw this tour after DP hadn't toured in quite some time I was a little sceptical until I heard the first note, one of the best concerts I've attended in Jax,Fl.
Hey i use to love Deep Purple ! They were called Hard Rock b4 OZZY ! But that Perfect Strangers Song, My Woman From Tokeyo & etc.... That whole was 👍! ROCK ON !
I think of this as a steamroller song - moves along relatively slowly but is impossible to stop. Another great example is Smoke on the Water, and they were others, of course; they were absolute masters of this style.
Simplesmente, é difícil comentar sôbre está música. É preparar o ambiente, ouvir, sentir e imaginar mil coisas.
I also heard DP for the first time in 1972,,12 years old, and I really got stuck with them. And, of course, the albums of DP mark II was the greatest of great, but there are several great songs also after these haydays, such as this one :) / Lars
The main riff is in 4/4 or you meant the middle of the song where its 4+5 (9) or 4+4+1 because that part I see it as some sort of solo section maybe or a CODA. But yeah, anyhow it's killer.
I cannot get tired of listening to what is the strongest song of the album. There never was and never will be a band like DP. Magic.

That organ is what gives Deep Purple its sound.. You could hear a single chord of the intro and go "Oh, Jon Lord, Deep Purple!"
I can close my eye's to this day and still see John Lord's organ solo in St.Paul MN , with sparks and smoke coming out if it.. It was awesome!

Perhaps my best case for Truth of this is found in the book of Habakkuk 1-2:17 where he was given a vision of Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Some very strong and interesting proof is in the discovery of Sodom and Gomorrah. This is in these videos. Pt. 1 ruclips.net/video/0QsgY115EFc/видео.html Pt. 2 ruclips.net/video/8plh4NMoQs8/видео.html And here is where the remains of pharaoh's army is found in the red sea. ruclips.net/video/X3NuAkXUwu0/видео.html Gnesis 19:24 New International Version Then the LORD rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--from the LORD out of the heavens. Brimstone found there is over 95 percent pure. The purest sulfur anywhere else is just over 45% and is found near active geothermal regions. Brimstone such as is found near these two infamous cities is found nowhere else on earth. Yet here it is still, a God-given supernatural element to warn those who would live against Him. 2 Peter 2:6 If He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction, reducing them to ashes as an example of what is coming on the ungodly; He is love or He wouldn't have warned us.After much consideration I found truth best taught and followed as a Messianic. Here are two of the videos I found on this. ruclips.net/video/DBSIs2bHi5g/видео.html
ruclips.net/video/0QsgY115EFc/видео.html&t=2s
THESE 2 VIDEOS ARE UNDENIABLE PROOF OF NOAH'S ARK AND SODOM AND GOMORRAH. IT WAS SOUND AND THE DIMENSIONS AND MEASUREMENTS MATCH THE BIBLICAL RECORD EXACTLY. WHAT THEY FIRST SAW LOOKED TO BE AN OUTLINE OF A SHIP IN THE MOUNTAINS OF ARARAT WHERE THE BIBLE SAID THE ARK SETTLED. IT WAS MOSTLY PETRIFIED WOOD WITH LINES OF METAL RUNNING THE LENGTH OF THE ARK REMAINS EVENLY SPACED ACROSS. THIS MEDAL WAS NOT FOUND OUTSIDE THE ARK. THE ALSO FOUND PETRIFIED ANIMAL DROPPINGS AND WHAT LOOK TO BE RIB TIMBERS USED IN CONSTRUCTION.
ruclips.net/video/oQwfU7DvUyE/видео.html
BELOW ARE THE ACTUAL REMAINS OF SODOM AND GOMORRAH'S ASHEN REMAINS. MILLIONS OF PIECES OF BRIMSTONE WAS FOUND IN THE AREA OF THE CITIES, BUT NONE IN BETWEEN THEM. BRIMSTONE MEANS SULFUR. THIS SULFUR IS 98% PURE. THE PUREST SULFUR FOUND ANYWHERE ELSE ON EARTH IS A MAZIMUM 40% PURE.

"der Original Band Mark two" in Spanish: Alineación 2 de Deep Purple.
At a young age for me this was a new record. I still have it. Deep Purple are gothic, classical, and heavy metal all at once. The Perfect combination. Ian is my favorite singer of all time!
The absolute greatest intro of all time in rock IMHO. Takes me back to when I was 18 when this song came out and still love it to this day!
Killed a ton of brain cells to this album back in the 80s. Great album! Love it!
saw them on this tour but I was so stoned I don't remember who played with them LOL
This one and Deep Purple in Rock.
Me more to go!....lol

I expanded my mind with this song and a bong of hydro
@@jackaction7077 yeah my bad? We are gettin so old we forget what gen name they call us
I could only dream of a band as good as these guys coming out in this day and age
Back then you had to go out and buy either the album or cassette depending on whether you wanted to listen to it at home or in the car. And you had to do it for each of these great bands over and over because most of the albums were mostly filler
Now you can just listen to them anytime you want online for nothing or even download the best quality if you want as well

A thousand oceans I have flown
And cold spirits of ice
All my life

Distant faces shine
A thousand warriors I have known
And laughing as the spirits appear
All your life
Shadows of another day
And if you hear me talking on the wind
You've got to understand
We must remain
Perfect strangers
I know I must remain inside this silent well of sorrow
A strand of silver hanging through the sky
Touching more than you see
The voice of ages in your mind
Is aching with the dead of the night

One of the comeback albums top tracks ; when they played this live Jon Lord always played his solo with the proper Hammond-type sound which really enhanced it.
There's a fine example of that on their Live At Olympia '96 cd. Fantastic live version.
I remember vividly him rocking the key board forward and backward so much I thought he was going to drop it on his own legs.

OBRIGADO DEEP PURPLE

There is no best think than you wrote :-)
You got that right, cousin! Jon Lord was J.S. Bach to Keith Emerson's Beethoven. Throw in Rod Argent, Gregg Rolie, Greg Allman and the others, that's quite a bit of keyboard talent! Those were the days... when musicians may have also had a habit; but now, many are just junkies who can play G-C-D on the guitar
Ronald Viens Doug Ingle (iron butterfly), the doors keyboardist, Ray Manzarek, the list goes on!
