      @@downtown82 She is a legend because it needs a thousand men's strength to move forward after the trauma she experienced. I lost my father when I was a child but still had a whole beautiful family and the trauma of losing him suddenly is still with me to this day, I can't even begin to imagine how much trauma she holds behind that smile. Trust me, only a true legend can keep walking, chin up and smiling after all this (so yeah, all the trauma survivors, famous or not are legends). Hope it was clear.

      I don't think it was as much as being as angel as the massive amounts of strength she managed to slowly accumulate along the way. Sure, maybe an angel was watching over her for the fact that she came out of it alive, but I think we should count her story as a tragedy and an unfathomable accomplishment. Relating her to the spiritually divine sort of downplays her situation, like how she said she didn't like calling it a fairytale. That's just how I feel.

      tubester4567 I know this is going to be lost on you since you’re clearly a troll looking for a reaction but I’m gonna respond anyway since I’m feeling feisty today. The focus in her comment was not that the country should change but that the world of ballet is changing. A world where most principle dancers are white, slim, and a certain height. It’s very slowly becoming diversified with people of all colors and body types. I personally am here for a stage full of talented people who
      I don’t even understand how you misinterpreted her comment so badly. Im curious, is ballet dance it’s own nationality to you?

    • @adhd2648
      @adhd2648 5 лет назад +14

      tubester4567 also, her neglect in the orphanage has nothing, I repeat, nothing to do with the country it was happening in. If you think there aren’t foster parents who abuse the kids in their care in the US then you clearly haven’t been paying attention. Also also, her parents are the ones who rescued her. If you want to give the country credit for having decent human standards then sure but it was not the US who rescued her. That was her parents. Let’s give credit where credit is due.

      Kevin Twaite: this young lady is amazing. But she was born with a particular disposition that helped her, and it seems like she had living parents for the first crucial years of her life, which can help to lay a foundation for a person to cope with later adversity. Many people who pass through less terrible things never had that foundation, so they may not have the strength to go through it, and it's not necessarily their fault. it's up to all of us to try to provide those people at least a fraction of what they missed to get to a point where they can be expected to take responsibility for their life.

    • @erinmckenzie4666
      @erinmckenzie4666 4 года назад

      Kevin Twaite it's not fair for you to say that. If someone is in a bad situation most of the time they try so hard to get to a good place and that doesn't always work, luckily in Michaela's case it did work and she wouldn't have gotten here without being adopted

    It's hard to hear her go this pain each time she talks about it. I bless God for making a way for her. They could make a movie from her life. She's so young and has been through so much.

    What an incredible survivor. How could anyone cause harm to a child that way? Such a beautiful role model she has become. She's just amazing.

    I admire this young lady. So many women and girls go through so much trauma but yet come out on top. It is so inspiring. God bless her and may she continue to prosper.

    I too used to think that my purpose was to live in hardships and misery for the longest time and I too ended up living my dream. It made me relate so deeply with this story. :( I don't know what else to say but I feel so much love for her.

    When I heard your story I cried with empathy and fear and sadness and gratefulness that you survived all of that trauma. When I saw your talented dancing...I cried with happiness and joy because you are one of the most beautiful ballerinas I've ever seen in my life! GOD has a purpose for everyone! You are an inspiration!

    May God continue to bless this beautiful young lady! Her strength is amazing! And the beautiful smile on her face as she was dancing touched my heart. After hearing her story, I'm ashamed of the way I complain about the most ridiculous things.

    What a blessing this young woman is for all who hear her story. What a blessing her "spots" ended up being. I hope that she can continue to heal to know the truth of who she is fully! Beautiful inside and out!

    The most eloquent, flawless presentations I have ever seen have all come from TEDx. This video reminded me that a presentation doesn't have to be without mistakes to be phenomenal. The presenter just has to tell a story they believe is worth sharing. Life goals for every presentation I give from here on out.

    So profoundly sad and yet she so gracefully overcame it all. God works through people indeed. They may have called her a devil's child but really she's an angel. I am so inspired!
