I really appreciate how you showed and described each step. I recently got a GT235 and thought the deck was broken. It just hadn't been reinstalled properly. Thanks for making the video.
There's a tensioner in front for the front round tube support. (It's black and the tabs go into slots. Also turning the front tire all the way gives more room to slide it out.
I think there are wheels on the deck to roll it out vs jacking the tractor up, just need to turn them perpendicular. Otherwise thanks for showing us how you did it.
You are correct. I have used them but find it easier to jack it up and pull it right out. If the surface you are working on isn't slick, use the wheels for sure. Thanks for watching.
Just bought a GT275 and needed to see the 1/4in bars for the lowering mech. How this HD piece got bent in unknown. That and some other parts are bent pretty bad and need to get an idea how to get em bent back into shape. This tractor either fell off a trailer or maybe got hit by a car while on the trailer? YES...of course the hood is missing. lol?
Bummer. Showed almost everything except what I wanted to see. Where the lock 'pins' are set at the very front securing the deck to the mower body. Mower's right side catch, should it be in the hole or pushed up against the scoop. I've had it at one time or another, set to either way and now I can't recall the 'correct' way. From most images online it appears pushed up against the scoop. But what I'm puzzled about, IF it is meant to be outside the 'hole', then why have the hole to start out with?

very nice job, two questions: what do you do when the pins in the rear of the mower deck don't want to come out? also what part of northern Minnesota are you in?
I’m having the same problem on my gt 235. The pin on the left side came out easily but the pin on the right side doesn’t wanna come out no matter what I do.

Thanks so much for this Joel, I'm in Grand Rapids and you just helped me sharpen the blades on my GT235!
Hi Barbara, I'm glad this was helpful. Thanks for watching and I love Grand Rapids. My wife is from the Range.
Oh geeze of course you’re from Minnesota. Great vid golly.

You lowered the deck to get at the spring loaded pins and belt etc. Now put the lever in the raised position to remove the deck makes things easier
Great video. Thank you
at 4:15 turn the wheel all the way to right or left,,,,,helps! I learned that after a few minutes myself doing the same job
Thanks for the tip. I will definitely use it.
Hi Joel I enjoyed your video. I just bought the same model today at the local John Deere. It is a 1998.
Thanks Dan, I'm sure you will get much good use out of it.
Excellent perfect video thank you😊
Thanks for sharing. I just picked one of these up last night. You have a new sub. 😁👍
Thanks for watching. Hope your purchase works as well as mine has. Very happy with this machine.
Need a video of replacing deck belt for this deck

I lift the guide Wheels all the way up and then you can slide the deck right out no problem!!
Turn the volume up
Since this video I have learned how to edit the volume. Thanks for the comment.

poor deck was begging for a good power washing. Nice tractor Sir does your have the briggs?
Yes, it will get a power wash after this season. Embarrassing. Engine is Kawasaki 18 HP V Twin. Love the tractor, they keep very well.
Joel On Grid very nice just picked one up with a briggs. What kind of flap disk in that on your grinder? Thanks!

I'm not sure I have had much problem with the pins. Near Moorhead in NW MN. Thanks for watching.
@@joelongrid7625 ok, I live in Duluth, straight east of you.

@@charlesbrown4483 it has a lot of wear then, try taking weight off the pin and then try to unpin it.
Is the GT235 a good tractor?
It is. I just replaced the battery last week. that is the biggest thing I have had to do so far and it has over 3,000 hours on it.
Why didn't you use better light? Can't see what you're doing.
What kind of wheel is that on the angle grinder?
It is a Dewalt laminated wheel. Works really well. Thanks for watching.
Shame on you for leaving all that crud under your deck all winter. Kent from PEI
For sure. I know better too.
