Awwwww thank you so much for the lovely shoutout Laura! ❤ We're definitely friends and we absolutely have to meet in real life at some point!!! 🥰🥰 I'm enjoying your vlogmas SO much and I love today's mental health chat. My husband and I attended a baby shower this past weekend and he noticed my social battery running out because there were so many people and the noise level was so loud, so we chose to leave the party early for our mental health and spend the rest of the evening in a quieter environment and it was so lovely 😊 Cheers to being aware of our mental well-being and making the right choices for mental health ❤
Thank you for continuing to share about mental health. To me it always feels like the holidays magnify everything especially the impact on mental health. My favourite part of watching your videos is that you share all the ups and downs even the parts you don’t film.
I have colour management tip that is especially helpful when your colours are hard to differentiate. If you put a popsicle stick in the center of your cakes and label them 1 and 2, or A and B etc, it helps to tell them apart! Plus you can easily move them to your next colour as go through your advent :)
loving your vlogmas again this year! i live on the west coast of Canada (where we are currently getting an insane amount of rain and no snow) so the time difference works out perfectly for watching your videos in the evening on the day you film them :) looking forward to seeing how your faded shawl works out, it's looking stunning!!!
You found a great spot for your mum‘s crocheted garland. Thank you for pointing out what deep inside many of us already know but sometimes forget. On social media you only get to see, what the content creator wants you to see and most of the times it’s only the butterflies and rainbows. Thanks for the reminder. 🤎 I am excited to see your festive nails. 🤗
Ok… I am so glad you said what you said about mental health and not comparing yourself with what you see online - I’m so grateful. I had to mute myself and my kids putting the lights on the tree bc I was sooooooo flustered!
I just love hearing from you and always inspired by your honestly and enthusiasm 🤗 I use so many of your truisms and love how you discuss your capacity and strength and growth. ❤ I did have a thought on your brioche shawl-I was curious if you could chose a neutral solid for one color, and then do the 24 minis as one full fade as your other color, would that create an easier backdrop against which to see the color progression? I wonder! I also love the mellow Mondays, sending big hugs from California 🤗
Love the fade shawl! Is going to be gorgeous with those colors! Keeping with the beauty box theme Can you share your favorite make up And colors you use sometime?
Sooo glad I'm not the only Love Actually annual watcher! 😄 The Holiday and Bing Crosby's White Christmas (very oldy, but goody) are my others. Ty for the MH minute. Tho I'm always reminding my husband that FB/Insta lives aren't complete (or actual) RLs, I sometimes forget myself. Ty for being real about it. And so lovely 💝
Love Actually is one of my all time favorites movie along with The Holiday, having an orchestra play while watching it seems so magical, hope you have a great time !
aww laura, thank you so so much for your kind words and the shoutout of my little weekly vlogmas ❤ from the queen of vlogmas/knitting and mental health talk herself! I‘m very flattered and appreciate you 😌🫶🏻
Hi from Norway 👋 it’s so nice to watch your vlogmas while I’m making knitted Christmas gifts. We’ve got -23 degrees today so my dog doesn’t even want to go out 🥶 No worries, it gives me more time to knit 🤭
We went to see Love Actuallly with an orchestra last year here in Australia... It was amazing .... You are in for a fantastic time ❤ We watch Love Actually every christmas eve - have done for several years now....is it even christmas if you dont watch Love Actually? 😅
I look forward to yuour vlogmas every year now, I didn't even know what it was until I saw yours in 2021. I love the little hand stim, I always do that when I try to explain things and can never find the words. It's good to know that I am not the only one who considers time with my family as social, because my social battery is so small I usually need a week to recover from holidays. I am absolutely loving the brioche fade, it's going to be such a beautiful shawl. Have fun at Love Actually.
Just stumbled upon your patterns and podcast recently - so excited to follow your vlogmas! Made myself an advent with stash minis from my homespun house Patreon subscription, so knitting away on a sweetshop blanket with that and I love it! 🥰 gave myself a head start as my maternity leave started on the 27th, so it will be interesting to see how long I can keep up before the baby bubble life starts 👶🏼🧑🏻🎄
Another looovely vlogmas! I’m really enjoying vlogmas it so far 😁 Your enthusiasm is contagious and makes me really excited for all the Christmas festivities too! The headband looks amazing and I can’t be the only one to wants to see more goodies from the beautybox 😊 Have a lovely time tomorrow night
Hello Laura, enjoying listening and knitting on a second sibling sweater. 2 of my grandchildren have their birthday this month (4 year, not sisters). 🥰 A big hug for your lovely children 🫶
Really enjoyed today’s episode and so pleased that you are looking after your own mental health - remember if you’re late with posting it doesn’t matter as you say it’s your vlogmas and you can do exactly what is right for you ❤ Also your head band is gorgeous it really suits you and reminds me medieval headdresses - I love it ❤ Enjoy Love Actually it’s definitely up there for me as one of the best Christmas films xxx
Thanks for the honest talk about real life! Christmas this year is rough for my family and I appreciate your understanding that life is not all sweetness and light. I enjoy your vlogmas episodes and hope you are enjoying doing it!
Hi Laura, lovely vlogmas, as always! I enjoyed the little mental health talk too actually, I think I can relate with some of the things you said and it made me feel seen and understood❤ So I don't mind it at all if we're going to be talking about a little bit of mental health between a knitting project and another! I can especially relate with the "social battery" thing, for me even doing things like spending time with family or with my friends and going to university and talking to many people is something that consumes my batteries. As much as I enjoy doing it, cause I love it really, sometimes I need a break (usually Wednesdays are the moments where I feel like I need a quiet day to recharge... don't know, mid-week tiredness I think🤣)
That was lovely Laura, I always enjoy your honesty and chats about how things are really. Have fun tomorrow night. I love love your colours on the shawl.❤
I have a tip for whole body moisturiser as an autistic with eczema (so I have to otherwise I become a cornflake)! Get out of the bath/shower and put it on your wet skin. Then use your towel to pat your skin dry. You actually lock in more moisture this way. And there is no sticky gross feeling
You are so lovely and the more i Watch you and get to Know you, the more I like you. I can’t wait to knit the water bottle cover. Making that one for my sister and one for me as soon as I finish with gift knititng. 🎄🎅🏼💖
I started using retinol this summer and have some tips for you! You are supposed to slowly increase the frequency you use it. I made myself a little schedule to keep track, and did every 3 days for 3 weeks, every 2 days for 2 weeks, then every day. I put it on last after my face lotion, and don't put it around my eyes or mouth. It increases the turnover of skin cells, so it's really important to wear your sunscreen during the day. I found that my face was a little tender at first, but my skin acclimated to it quickly. (PS - I loved the little beauty box moment! One of the lovely parts of vlogs is feeling like you’re hanging out with a friend, and that made it feel like you were in my living room telling me about your haul) (PPS - I always love the mental health and neurodivergence chat, it makes me feel so seen and not alone ❤️)
Thank you for the honestly and for the caution. I love watching Vlogmas but at times it can be overwhelming. Thank you for the recommendations. I do love Whitney’s podcasts. On Instagram she shows her outfits and I love seeing how people wear their knits. It gives me so many ideas!
I am loving your vlogmas content so far. Yours is by far my favorite! I wonder if your social bandwidth is greater because both the kids are in school now. You have a little bit of time every day to yourself, which allows you to reboot? I find that to be true with me. Although there aren't little ones in our house these days, even if my hubby just runs to the store, that few minutes gives me space to be more social later.
100%! It’s definitely cleared up some space and allowed me to not feel like I have to be productive every second I have to myself, I’m much better at prioritising rest and recovery because I simply have more time to now! C
Do you ever think about doing a tutorial for your patterns. They are so nice. Wishing you Christmas joy. When I hear your Daughter wishing everyone a Merry Christmas she is such a darling. I actually was born in England. Emigrated with mum and dad and 2 brothers. She sounds like my Grandaughter who lives in New Zealand. Your vlogmas is excellent
I must say, I'm a little overwhelmed by all the lovely videos you put out these days. You spoil us! 😅 But I enjoy every single one while knitting on my champagne cardigan 😊 Also, I absolutely LOVE the sweater you wear during the chatty bit of the video! ❤ is there a pattern for it? 😊 Can't wait for as many videos as you want to make during vlogmas 😊❤
@_laurapenrose_ thank you for your suggestions! 😊 I think knitting the sibling sweater in a bigger size and adding in the zipper (however that works😄) would also work.

Love Actually where he's telling his best friend's gf he was in love with her ❤
You make beautiful patterns. Love your wips!!
Loving the chilled vibe to how you’re managing Vlogmas this year Laura, so nice to see you looking after yourself and imploring others to do the same

Lovely, Laura. … enjoy Love Actually (what a fab idea). Thank you for this gorgeous and honest content. Happy Advent!!
You're so talented, I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers.

Corn flake 🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈 thank you, I’ll try that next time!! X
Loved your mental health chat on this one. Such an important reminder! Also, the Snoop wine is surprisingly good isn’t it!? 🍷
It’s so good! Nice one snoop 🤣

Day 4 and I'm noticing the difference in my fade too! Mine is a pink though. Loving the visits everyday 😊
Aww bless you Laura ❤❤
Love your plans! My family and I are going to see The Snowman with a live orchestra on the 16th of December. I can't wait! ❤

Thank you!! That sounds like something I would be absolutely rubbish at keeping on top of/track of, so I might give that one to my sister 🤣
Merry Vlogmas!! The kids sweet voice makes my day!

If I feel a pattern needs it I will make a specific tutorial for it, but you can only view them if you have the pattern! X

I got it from H&M 🙈🙈 but I think an oversized Zipper Sweater by PetiteKnit or the Lanark Sweater by Rebecca Clow would do the trick!! X
@_laurapenrose_ thank you for your suggestions! 😊 I think knitting the sibling sweater in a bigger size and adding in the zipper (however that works😄) would also work.
You can put the body oil in your bath so it will hydrate your skin without having to rub it in all over
Oooh I’ll try that!!
Sorry one more question- is there a pattern for the “Fa La La La “ wall hanging?
It’s from a book called ‘all I want for Christmas is yarn’ by Lindsey Newns xx
