The royal purple was a big big industry on Create. The Ancient Minoans raised the mollusks, and then set up the cats so the mollusks would attack each other. As they died, a royal purple dye was emitted. The Minoans we're able to process the secretion into a powder. The Archeologists that dig in Crete said the process was pretty messy and stinky. But the dye was ultra expensive and was called Tyrian Purple. I'm not sure who had it first, the Phoenicians or the Minoans. But the Minoans had a serious business selling the dye. I was aware of the purple dye in antiquity "Argaman" or ארגמן, extracted from tiny little shelled sea snails. It was highly valued and used to designate royalty. But this is new to me.

I found his films/documentaries about a year ago! I am Obsessed! He is magnanimous! I would watch anything historical he creates. Does anyone know how to send him a message to let him know what he has meant to me ? I started watching when I was trapped in bed for 2 years with excruciating pain then 2 subsequent neck surgeries within 3 months. Complications caused my healing to be delayed and partial spinal cord injury involved. I LEARNED for that time! I am back to myself, with limitations! I really like this guy. He has a good and sincerely curious about what subject he learning about and looking into and he has an authentic energy and the editing of the show matches it but also gives that early 2000s nostalgic vibe. Excellent information and history as well!
It sounds like they're describing a nautilus. Cuttlefish don't carry a shell. Nautilus do, and they reproduce very slowly, so it's easier to believe that they could be overfished to the point of extinction in the Meditteranean. You wouldn't find nautilus shells lying around either, because they would probably be used for other things.
I have petunias that are a royal purple. Some call them black petunias which I absolutely refuse to say because they are purple! Flowers and their seeds have been used for a very long time to create dyes. So maybe these purple petunias could make the royal purple. Speaking of blue, a few years ago I started believing in God and I started really liking blue all of a sudden. Two blues, baby blue and royal blue. I started liking blue so much I decided I wanted to paint a painting of a scenery with a blue tree. I dyed my lamp shades a baby blue and put royal blue throughout on some things. Royal purple is really beautiful. I have yet to find any royal purple that I like except for my petunias which I love. Think when the flowers fall I will see if I can make a dye with them and the seeds. I do know I had flowers years ago that the seeds when they fell on my table cloth, would stain it with the same color as the flowers and seeds.
from time to time, ebay auctions lists a variety pack of mixed blue/purple/black flowers. seeds from Abe Lincoln's all 'black' flower beds. I bought a package and the variety was fabulous 😊

One I find most important is that he brings up a multitude of topics which emphasize how much Christianity IS connected to Judaism, rather than focusing on the differences. A number of his episodes were mostly focused on aspects of Early Christianity. I'm an American and a Christian. I grew up and went to school and college with many friends who happened to be Jewish. My deceased first wife was Israeli/ American studying in the US when I met her. Over many years, we never argued over religion. Nor did I with any of her family. I don't GET Antisemitism.
Why is the building of the temple due to Herod rejected by people? The temple was rebuilt... by herod.? No ugliness... an honest question that would love a response. It's insane to think that the Jews, Muslims, Christians and so many others cannot all have access to historical sites of worship. No reason to fight, just share in access and use. Every religion, or person that says you cannot share Gods lands to learn about spiritual love, good and truth in your own way isn't really a believer and followers of the true teachings. Give all a chance to learn in this life on earth and do what they need to do as long as they don't harm or kill others. Why are pieces of land and temples more important than Gods laws, human rights and what truly works all of human history? There are ancient Tekheileth factories near Byblos in Lebanon with husks of Chilazon snail shells in burial pits. It is obvious which species of snail produced this sky blue dye.

I once was a child in Greece. in the summer by the sea, on a rock I noticed a kind of half snale half cuttkle fish the shell was very rough not smooth was about the size of a 50 coin. It was kind of moving. I was wearing docor Sholl's hard sandals made of wood and I am short siteghted. There were several of those strange snales with a strange kind of cup formed shels were all rough and of a dark colour like the rock on which they were. I mistakenly stepped on one and an incredible stench came of it and al around where the poor beast died out of being crushed, there was a truly amazing colour blue to purple mainly blue, predominantly blue with a hiint of purple in it. They were just there on the rocks.

I am only 3:20 in and I have learnt over 30 years ago, that the blue/purple dye thats used in these garments were from a shellfish. So valuable that only royal or noblemen wore.

Archeologists have found that the Egyptians had already created a color of blue.this blue has been analyzed and is almost identical to the Purple fragments from the Terra Cotta army of China. Egyptian blue is also found not only in Afghan Lapis Lazuli, but is in the Blue Glass of the golden headpiece of Tutankhamen. Such types of chemical pigments show a scientific sophistication well beyond what many believe possible.

It was found that Egypt was actually behind approximately 175 years, when comparing their histories of interaction with all of these other cultures, lands, and countries, which coincided with one another, but not with the timeline of Egypt . Egypt was notorious for changing their timelines to cover up pharoahs whom they disagreed with and who fell out of favor with the priests of Egyptian religions. They even defaced statues of these pharoahs, and crossed out all references to these pharoahs who fell out of favor. They just changed their timelines to cover this all up. Other cultures, lands, and countries didn't cover anything up. All of the histories of the other countries interactions and histories coincide perfectly , but are 175 years off from the Egyptian timelines, which makes different Pharoah's reigns appear older than they were. ( They took the offending Pharoahs right out of their timelines.)
another intersting thing is they mention the color of the sea and the sky. The color tkhelet and then you have a sea creature or snail that is exposed to the sun or the sky which then causes the reaction changing the color from purple to blue. So f you think about it. It could mean the color of the dye from the sea exposed to the rays of the sun or the color of the sky. SO that makes it both colors. A color from the sea and a color from the sky. Good job diving into these mysteries. :)
Josephus described the color from the snails, and he wrote his works in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, so the idea that they don't know what color to translate to is patently ridiculous. Josephus also wrote that they milked the snails, then released them back into the wild. They weren't killing the snails, so you wouldn't be likely to find the snail shells in archeology.

Hi, I was going over hints and clues, and have come up with. Hillazon, is a giant deep sea squid, found in the Med. off the coast between haifa and tyre. There happens to be an island there that is called tchhelet island for some reason.
Very interesting take, but the Israelites could easily travel twice as far in a day: 30-40 km on average. If you factor this distance in to your triangulation, you get much closer to where most people think it is today- in Arabia across the gulf on the other side of the Sinai peninsula. The mountain is now called 'Jebel al Lawz' which is 50 km east of the gulf of Aqaba.
And I heard a story that everybody on masada drew lots, and the chosen were to kill the other half, and so on and so forth, and apparently it was an odd number because Josephus was the very last person. If the snails excretions could go through all those color changes, what if all they did was find a way to stop the color change at certain points in it's transformation. The ROYAL purple is the completion of that process. So that makes it the perfect representation of that transformation process. Why would they NOT use that process to create all the other ROYAL colors to keep the royal colors themselves created from something specific to ensure its purity and source consistent... Maybe the blue was not created from just the snails excretion but some foreign element was needed to stop that process at the right moment to get the different colors. Purple was chosen as the color of royalty because of it's perfect completion of that transformation. Much as royalty is the embodiment of perfection in their eyes. So it makes sense that the priests that were just below the royalty, would have the color the next step down. That blue color. Sometimes they can hide things right in front of our just because of the knowledge involved. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to interrupt that process to use the different colors. Red and blue are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Red and blue make purple. Purple is the color that would exist if you took that color chart and bent it around and connected the two ends of that color chart where blue disappears, and where red disappears on it's end. That is where God lives. In the impossible area where the visible, becomes invisible and we cannot see it.

This information of blue vs purple is not new. I saw a tv show in England where this concept of the light effect on the snail dye was demonstrated on "Tony Robinson worst jobs in history". This was the purple dye used for royalty
If my history is right Mohammad died in Medina in Saudi Arabia, he never ever went to Jerusalem so why is the dome of the rock still standing on land that the original temple stood why not just pull it apart and send it to Medina and let them put it back together .

It sounds like they're describing a nautilus. Cuttlefish don't carry a shell. Nautilus do, and they reproduce very slowly, so it's easier to believe that they could be overfished to the point of extinction in the Meditteranean. You wouldn't find nautilus shells lying around either, because they would probably be used for other things.
That's what I'm thinking, nautilis or hermit crab, which uses other creature's shells.
I have petunias that are a royal purple. Some call them black petunias which I absolutely refuse to say because they are purple! Flowers and their seeds have been used for a very long time to create dyes. So maybe these purple petunias could make the royal purple. Speaking of blue, a few years ago I started believing in God and I started really liking blue all of a sudden. Two blues, baby blue and royal blue. I started liking blue so much I decided I wanted to paint a painting of a scenery with a blue tree. I dyed my lamp shades a baby blue and put royal blue throughout on some things. Royal purple is really beautiful. I have yet to find any royal purple that I like except for my petunias which I love. Think when the flowers fall I will see if I can make a dye with them and the seeds. I do know I had flowers years ago that the seeds when they fell on my table cloth, would stain it with the same color as the flowers and seeds.
from time to time, ebay auctions lists a variety pack of mixed blue/purple/black flowers. seeds from Abe Lincoln's all 'black' flower beds. I bought a package and the variety was fabulous 😊

It's insane to think that the Jews, Muslims, Christians and so many others cannot all have access to historical sites of worship. No reason to fight, just share in access and use. Every religion, or person that says you cannot share Gods lands to learn about spiritual love, good and truth in your own way isn't really a believer and followers of the true teachings. Give all a chance to learn in this life on earth and do what they need to do as long as they don't harm or kill others. Why are pieces of land and temples more important than Gods laws, human rights and what truly works all of human history? If you cannot share in peace, then you're not God followers or if non-believers you're not ethical and decent.

There are ancient Tekheileth factories near Byblos in Lebanon with husks of Chilazon snail shells in burial pits. It is obvious which species of snail produced this sky blue dye.

I once was a child in Greece. in the summer by the sea, on a rock I noticed a kind of half snale half cuttkle fish the shell was very rough not smooth was about the size of a 50 coin. It was kind of moving. I was wearing docor Sholl's hard sandals made of wood and I am short siteghted. There were several of those strange snales with a strange kind of cup formed shels were all rough and of a dark colour like the rock on which they were. I mistakenly stepped on one and an incredible stench came of it and al around where the poor beast died out of being crushed, there was a truly amazing colour blue to purple mainly blue, predominantly blue with a hiint of purple in it. They were just there on the rocks.
That's awesome so you saw something lovely. The ocean creatures are dying out so fast, I'm 51 now and grew up next to the ocean and the difference in only 50 years are so noticeable its scary. You just don't see that much anymore, it's so sad.

I am only 3:20 in and I have learnt over 30 years ago, that the blue/purple dye thats used in these garments were from a shellfish. So valuable that only royal or noblemen wore.

The extraction and creation of both the color of purple and blue extends further back than the Phoenicians, as in Exodus it is commanded to use purple as part of the first, Temple the Tabernacle colors. Archeologists have found that the Egyptians had already created a color of blue.this blue has been analyzed and is almost identical to the Purple fragments from the Terra Cotta army of China.
Egyptian blue is also found not only in Afghan Lapis Lazuli, but is in the Blue Glass of the golden headpiece of Tutankhamen. Such types of chemical pigments show a scientific sophistication well beyond what many believe possible.
Tutankhamen is not older than the Temple Mount.

It was found that Egypt was actually behind approximately 175 years, when comparing their histories of interaction with all of these other cultures, lands, and countries, which coincided with one another, but not with the timeline of Egypt . Egypt was notorious for changing their timelines to cover up pharoahs whom they disagreed with and who fell out of favor with the priests of Egyptian religions. They even defaced statues of these pharoahs, and crossed out all references to these pharoahs who fell out of favor. They just changed their timelines to cover this all up.
Other cultures, lands, and countries didn't cover anything up. All of the histories of the other countries interactions and histories coincide perfectly , but are 175 years off from the Egyptian timelines, which makes different Pharoah's reigns appear older than they were. another intersting thing is they mention the color of the sea and the sky. The color tkhelet and then you have a sea creature or snail that is exposed to the sun or the sky which then causes the reaction changing the color from purple to blue. So f you think about it. It could mean the color of the dye from the sea exposed to the rays of the sun or the color of the sky. SO that makes it both colors. A color from the sea and a color from the sky. Good job diving into these mysteries. :)
Josephus described the color from the snails, and he wrote his works in Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic, so the idea that they don't know what color to translate to is patently ridiculous. Josephus also wrote that they milked the snails, then released them back into the wild. They weren't killing the snails, so you wouldn't be likely to find the snail shells in archeology.

Hi, I was going over hints and clues, and have come up with. Hillazon, is a giant deep sea squid, found in the Med. off the coast between haifa and tyre. There happens to be an island there that is called tchhelet island for some reason.
Very interesting take, but the Israelites could easily travel twice as far in a day: 30-40 km on average. If you factor this distance in to your triangulation, you get much closer to where most people think it is today- in Arabia across the gulf on the other side of the Sinai peninsula. The mountain is now called 'Jebel al Lawz' which is 50 km east of the gulf of Aqaba.

If the snails excretions could go through all those color changes, what if all they did was find a way to stop the color change at certain points in it's transformation. The ROYAL purple is the completion of that process. So that makes it the perfect representation of that transformation process. Why would they NOT use that process to create all the other ROYAL colors to keep the royal colors themselves created from something specific to ensure its purity and source consistent... Maybe the blue was not created from just the snails excretion but some foreign element was needed to stop that process at the right moment to get the different colors.
Purple was chosen as the color of royalty because of it's perfect completion of that transformation. Much as royalty is the embodiment of perfection in their eyes. So it makes sense that the priests that were just below the royalty, would have the color the next step down. That blue color. Sometimes they can hide things right in front of our just because of the knowledge involved. I wonder if anyone has ever tried to interrupt that process to use the different colors.
Red and blue are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Red and blue make purple. Purple is the color that would exist if you took that color chart and bent it around and connected the two ends of that color chart where blue disappears, and where red disappears on it's end. That is where God lives. In the impossible area where the visible, becomes invisible and we cannot see it.
