Seems kind of dangerous. Tape will losen up as it gets hot. Then, you end up with a bad connection. Bad connections create heat and arcing. Now you have a fire hazard. Better to use a zener diode to replace the bad LED.

@@SwapPartLLCTo be fair, I didn't say it's the best fix. Imo he could replace the led with another led. Probably the best fix would be to take a burned out bulb & cannibalize it by using the same LED's from the burned out bulb to fix other burned out bulbs.
@@ClickClack_Bam That's a lot harder than you think. The circuit these are on is bonded to an aluminum backer. You have to heat that aluminum from the back in order to remove the LEDs. It's the same process I used to use when I did LED repair on TVs. It's easy enough on the one you're cannibalizing for parts, but the one you want to save now has to be disassembled. I was playing with a couple of these last week. The wires use push connectors, and they're pretty much one time use. If they pull out from the socket side, it's pretty much over because you can't get the wire back in. I suppose you could probably swap out the stranded wire for some 20Ga solid core like thermostat wire, then maybe you could get it back in. In my experience, the push connectors break if you loosen them. So, you would probably have to solder the wires where they go into the circuit board. It could be done, but it seems like a lot more work than it's worth. The reason I suggested a Zener diode is because it has the same characteristics as an LED (minus the light), and you could do it with a soldering iron from the top. The old LED can be removed in a destructive manner from the top.
@@valpuiatrazerschhakchhuak9683 well mine was CFR25J-8R2. You want the bulb to be plugged in after you open it while trying to find the broken led. Disconnect after that. Be careful not to touch any metal inside the lamp with your hand! Also have dry hands. It should be fine even if you touch it with your hand but still avoid it. Your circuit becomes open when the led breaks. We just use the wire to create a new path. It won't short just because it's a complete path, if there is no path then how would electricity flow? Good luck
